    @Ned, ALSO regarding PRIVATE VLAN ( IN YOUR TEST! )

    The private VLAN always has one primary VLAN. Within the primary VLAN you will find the promiscuous port. In my picture above you can see that there’s a router connected to a promiscuous port. All other ports are able to communicate with the promiscuous port. Within the primary VLAN you will encounter one or more secondary VLANs, there are two types:

    Community VLAN: All ports within the community VLAN are able to communicate with each other and the promiscuous port.

    Isolated VLAN: All ports within the isolated VLAN are unable to communicate with each other but they can communicate with the promiscuous port.

    Q. Rerfer to the exhibit
    Route# configure terminal
    Router( config)#vlan 10
    Router( config-vlan)#do show vlan (you use this command to be able to run show command where its not supposed to be run, so it will output vlan 10 info)

    Q. Which statement describes the effect of this configuration?
    A) The VLAN 10 VTP configuration is displayed

    I JUST READ THIS:https://www.iana.org/numbers
    Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are generally assigned in a hierarchical manner. Users are assigned IP addresses by Internet service providers (ISPs). ISPs obtain allocations of IP addresses from a local Internet registry (LIR) or National Internet Registry (NIR), or from their appropriate Regional Internet Registry (RIR):

    Q.Wich entity assigns IPv6 addresses to end users?
    A) ICANN

    This is a SPANTREE question…can’t be in icnd1 but I believe the switch with smallest priority wins. If they all had the same priority it would compare the mac address to untie it! (default priority is 32768)

    Q. If primary and secondary root switches with priority 16384 both experience catastrophic losses, which teritary switch can take over ?
    A) switch with priority 20480?
    B) switch with priority 8192

    IANA give prefix to RIR 2002-> RIR give prefix to ISP 2001:db8-> ISP give prefix to COMPANY

    2001:db8:acad–>COMPANY give the subnet 2001:DB8:ACAD:0001 to menagement vlan or 2001:DB8:ACAD:0002 to facilty vlan and so on. the last 64 bits from interface ID(host part )
    user create for them self with eui64 process or windows generate one …. if you are privat user you gonna get whole prefix from ISP 2001:DB8:ACAD:0001 and the other parrt of address your windows is gonna create for you(: so the ansfer is D

    A.1
    B.2

    I also have a question about the VLAN SIM:

    Server1 and Server2 are unable to communicate with the rest of the network. Your initial check with system administrators shows that IP address settings are correctly configured on the server side. What could be an issue?

    A. The VLAN encapsulation is misconfigured on the router subinterfaces. <<<
    B. The Router is missing subinterface configuration.
    C. The Trunk is not configured on the L2SW1 switch.
    D. The IP address is misconfigured on the primary router interface.

    What commands on the router would show an improper VLAN encapsulation?

    Which command can you enter to verify that a 128-bit address is live and responding?
    A. traceroute

    1- most of questions are in the 274 and Dave’s quiz.(90%+)
    2- each lab had 4 questions to answer all like the questions question starting from 576 CISCOTTE posted. (had 2 or three labs with 4 questions each, take your time to understando them…since I finished it with @30 minutes left)
    3- security labs were there with a computer conected via console to a router and another into a switch
    4 – 3 subnets questions

    Question: Successful Ping:
    Answer:
    This is not about seconds…you need to know that the “host sends a ping request and destination sends a echo reply”…many wrong questions were mixing this

    Question: What is the ping character for a unknown packet
    Answer: ? <- actual character

    Question: a static route wasnt showing on routing table why?
    Answer: interface was on shutdown condition

    Question: Router # ip nat source list 1 interface ethernet 0 overload (2 questions alike)
    Answer:
    All machines will use the ip that is on that ethernet interface to go out

    Questions: about host routes (3 or 4 questions)
    Answer: you need to know that host routes have mask of /32 or 255.255.255.255…ex: ip route 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.255 s0/0/1

    Hi Guys!

    @shadows: It’s indeed D. An IPv6 address is 128bit long and only the ping ipv6 command can ping such addresses.

    Regarding the Baby Giant Frame:
    1 ) Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error? > 1518
    2 ) Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error? > 1600 X

    In my opinion, it cannot be 1600 as we are talking about MTU here.

    A frame is made of the L2 header (18B) + MTU (1500B max by default). According to Cisco, a Giant baby FRAME can be up to 1600B big. So the MTU must be less or equal to 1582 (1600-18) and bigger than 1500. So, only 1518 fits in this case.

    What do you think?

    @Me, I agree with you, Max MTU size is 1500 bytes and anything over 1500 will cause Baby giant Error. Those who say that it is 1600 and are referring to CISCO documentation, if you read the complete documentation, it says that some cisco devices can support MTU size up to 1600 bytes. Anyways i am not an expert, it is just my own understanding and no offense.

    YOU/WE need to know EUI-64
    https://networklessons.com/ipv6/ipv6-eui-64-explained/
    EUI-64 (Extended Unique Identifier) is a method we can use to automatically configure IPv6 host addresses. An IPv6 device will use the MAC address of its interface to generate a unique 64-bit interface ID. However, a MAC address is 48 bit and the interface ID is 64 bit. What are we going to do with the missing bits?

  65. CISCOTTE
    November 24th, 2016

    @PL413r

    http://ipv6.com/articles/gateways/IPv6-Tunnelling.htm

    Teredo, another IPv6 transition technology that provides address assignment and host-to-host automatic tunneling for unicast IPv6 traffic when IPv6/IPv4 hosts are located behind one or multiple IPv4 network address translators (NATs). To traverse IPv4 NATs, IPv6 packets are sent as IPv4-based User Datagram Protocol (UDP) messages. IPv6 traffic from Teredo hosts can flow across NATs because it is sent as an IPv4 UDP message. Note that The main benefit of Teredo is that its a NAT traversal technology for IPv6 traffic. If the NAT supports UDP port translation, then the NAT supports Teredo.

    @CISCOTTE
    Ye, I think you are right! I havent learned that teredo tunneling on ICND1.
    After a quick google search “host-enable tunneling technique that uses IPV4 UDP” Teredo seems to be the correct answer.

    Prepare for the worst bro, Study hard doing labs too, labs were the hardest I had at the exam. The rest was a peace of cake. I took long time on first lab untill I figured out that it was easier to read the answers and check if they were right in running-config (I consider this a VALUABLE source of info given to you guys)

    November 25th, 2016

    @shadows
    No, thank god….no baby giant, no cef and no 6to4 crap.
    One interest thing i read before exam starts was that…cisco said they could put questions that dont worth anything only for “testing purposes or analises or something” so those could be it!

    @Pl413r
    that’s interesting, i think these questions fall into those categories.
    Did you make any notes on the lamination paper to help you in subnetting OR you nailed it in your brain.

  85. Pl413r
    November 25th, 2016

    @shadows
    Yes took notes, but I dont need much space to subnet cause I have a ninja mode subnetting lol.
    Btw make sure you get 2 pens…the a/c dries them out when you leave them open 🙂
    ig2g night all!

    0 and 4095 ( NOT 0 and 1 )

    Answer: If its on the cisco page/book 0 and 4095 than that is the correct one! This answer makes sense because vlan 1 can be modified to whatever you want and vlan 0 can not.
