Any new changes to the exam?

Failed today with 825. Basically failed by 1 question. Passing score is 832.
2 Sims on my exam, 1 regarding DHCP and the other about security.
Most of the questions are on this site with the exception of maybe 5-7 that I saw before.
I will spend the next week going over these questions and will pass next Monday.

@DRC is there anymore of the new questions you got? So you got those all wrong? These were talked about in previous pages..what did you get wrong..and what changes to the security and dhcp??

hey guys….passed ICND1, no surprise question, materials on this site covers everything, i used cbtnuggets and this site to study, security & dhcp sims make sure you understand configs as you may see different versions of these sims

@vagabond – There were a few questions I got not on the 3 question pages on this site. the above 3 I for sure got.

The show run sim is identical to the one on this site.
The DHCP one is a little different. The one on this site the answer is dhcp is not enabled. But on the sim it is disabled so you need to know how to differentiate.

I will be studying just the questions on here and am sitting again Monday. I’ll pass on Monday.

@DRC everyone seems to be getting dhcp sim and security ? not show run? its different version different answers?

@vagabond dhcp sim different config hence leading to different answers, pay particular attention to dhcp statement config, acl, ntp, if you are pracitcing with configs you will be fine, security pretty much same

On the May 4th I passed my 100-105 test and sort of bugged out of here since then as my brain needed a break.. My apologies…

For those looking to take the test, study the SIMS, DHCP and Security were on mine. Understand the concept and not the answers located here. Not sure about any of these other brain dumps I see getting posted here, but 9Tut is the way to go. Study whats here, take the quizzies, all of them before rushing off to test. Will you see similar questions, yes, will you see new ones, yes. I dont have that great photographic memory so I’m not the one to ask what the new stuff was.. Some IPV6 to IPV4, just one or 2 I believe, but you see them in here too..

The SIMS are very much the same just a few different answers… I believe on a page prior to this one someone addressed the difference between the SIM here and the test.. Again, understand the things you should be looking for first…

@ 9Tut Admin… is the wirelesstut.com site something that we can log into, i noticed most of the comments were closed… I’ll be preparing for that next. What used to be IUWNE 640-722 is now WIFUND 200-355… I’d like to find a place for study materials in addition to the book…

Can anyone confirm or deny that OSPF questions are NOT on the ICND1 exam? I ask because every dump I’ve found seems to have plenty of OSPF questions and answers…

So a tricky part in the new DHCP sim. The new one……R3’s interface linked to R2 has “ip address dhcp” configured on it. So the answer for DHCP not being enabled is no longer correct.

The 4 answers are identical to the current sim listed here. However, R2’s DHCP pool config is “network 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.252” so, that means 3 IPs. BUT – R2 is 20.1 and its excluded, so that leaves 2 IPs….20.2 and 20.3, right? So I’m not sure what the updated answer should be. Both interfaces are up/up, the config on the pool is right, and dhcp appears to be enabled on R3’s interface. Any ideas???

@DRC Great observation on the DHCP SIM.. I AM also wondering what the answer could be?? and you remember this from your last exam?

@DRC Wouldnt there only be one IP available? .3 would be the subnet broadcast address. 192.168.20.4 would be a new subnet

@anonymous – that makes sense. it has to be the answer because the interfaces weren’t shut down and it was configured with ip address dhcp

I passed my exam with 860/1000 on 10th may. The sims in my exam are security and DHCP. But, learn about the command and concept because the answers can be different.

Any ideas about the correct answer to this? The study guide says A but I’m not sure that is it.

You have configured the host computers on a campus LAN to receive their DHCP addresses form the local router to be able to browse their corporate site. Which statement about the network environment is true?

1. ACL Logging (best option)
2. The default stratum is 5
3. The prefix lenght

Question 2, when you configure NTP the stratum number is 5 by default, when the ntp server is using its internal reference clock 127.0.0.0/8 subnet, and then it start adding 1 to this number depending on the distance between the reference server. Look at some NTP configuration tips (Tood Lammle book will help)

Question 3, the prefix lenght will help determine the best route for example /28 and /24 or /8 depending on route that it learn, from routing principle, a /28 route will be preferred to a /24 in making routing decision of the same learn route.

This is my best explanation, 9tut helps but understanding how it works in combination with this site its much fun.

@Vagabond, yes the dhcp pool is incorrectly configure, you can check if there is a lease by issuing the command #show ip dhcp pool, and the #show ip int brief to see the status of the interface, I think the config changes .

I passed the exam with 97%

@SW the answer should be “D” the host must configure with the domain name ” join it to the domain name” the host could still have an ip address without join it to the domain but won’t be able to browser to their corporate site. That is what i think 🙂

@P2P Thank you for your input…so your positive its D ? 9tut was wrong on some things they even had an explanation for why D is correct…and for default stratum number 5 is that also 100% correct? I am taking exam third time sadly soonn I jus want to verify if everything is correct! There are a lot of misconceptions in the answers! Thank you all again for the help + feedback !

@DA7I referring to you…so you are pretty positive its D is it correct it seems right..I have been told security is still the same and most people are getting that along with DHCP…

sims are the same but you have to know theory of what the questions ask.

I read Odom’s book and 9tut. All these other people posting about dumps are not necessary and a lot of the questions are wrong. if you can ace all the composite exams and can troubleshoot the sims you will be good.

What topics are covered under “Infrastructure Services” I need to hit that more for my CCENT test – Can anyone point me in the right direction?

@Vagabong i was referring to the question Kydra posted not what SW posted. For the question SW posted the obvious answer is D. Just study the concept and you will get everything right, i understand your fear man. But just do it. You will get confused if you are just relying on what different people are saying, remember most are also learning with limited understanding, all my answers are correct. Good luck with the exam

THE DHCP SIM has 4 questions do you get 1 out of the 4 with security? I noticed most people are getting DHCP and security..and I do remember getting that..

I will give icnd 1 end of july …i have 2 question . how many labs include in icnd1? port security,ssh ,telnet or any other ? and second is all lab questions include in as a theory paper or other they will take labs in any simulator bases ?

@Vagabond Dude i’ve seen you posting here for weeks. You got this bro you know probably every questions. The sims where just a bunch of show commands and then answering the scenario correctly. I was not surprised by anything on the test after doing everything on this site and reading the PL test dumps ppl are listing.

@Kekistani Man I know I hope I got every question down and for the sims the DHCP..I just cant have a risk of failure..the dhcp on here is 4 questions so is that 4sims? so get 1 out of those 4 plus a security sim?

I read the Odom book and did New Questions 1-3, DHCP and Security sims, and composite quizzes 1-10. I also installed packet tracer and used that for labs and practicing commands as i learned them in the book.

Everything is on here. DHCP/Security Sims are different answers than what are posted here. DHCP pool is incorrect, No ntp command configured, and interesting NAT ACL are the answers for the new sim. Good luck

When I did run the command “show running-config” the outcome was lot of shit and I did miss read No service password encryption .. exam take please read carfuly and take you time when answering the sim question..

Question for all. I was wondering about the dumps for ICND1 100-105 and how there is a decent amount of questions regarding OSPF. I just finished the Cisco Academy for ICND1 and we used RIPv2 for all configurations. Does anyone know if the test is still requiring the knowledge on OSPF? As we didn’t cover it much just briefly.

Taking the test tomorrow can anyone verify what are the sims and if ICND1 V3 part 1,2,3 are all I need to review

Examine the DHCP configuration between R2 and R3, R2 is configured as the DHCP server and R3 as the client. What is the reason R3 is not receiving the IP address via DHCP?

A. On R3, DHCP is not enabled on the interface that is connected to R2.<<<<<<<<
B. On R3, the interface that is connected to R2 is in shutdown condition.
C. On R2, the interface that is connected to R3 is in shutdown condition.
D. On R2, the network statement in the DHCP pool configuration is incorrectly configured.

then i did show ip interface brief and there was no ip address assigned.

the rest of the DHCP question was the same as the one on 9tut with different ip address configuration to be honest..

@pal good questions. I think I saw the same posts some time ago as well and they are re-posting. makes me wonder about the dumps. Especially because there are a bunch of OSPF questions however I did not learn much about OSPF in my network academy class.

@Vag … When u ganan take your exam bro… Yeah DHCP was easy for me.. I had only Two SIM.. and 52 multiple choice Q .. My advise to you is that make sure you know IPv6 Q and the rest of the question came from 9tut.

@Val yeah each SIM contain 4 Qs.. and I believe if you answer 1 wrong from the 4 SIM Q mean the other will be marked as wrong as well.. wana take mine sooner than later but could not find availability for this week.

@DA71 – A is not the answer. Look at your running config. DHCP is enabled on the interface facing R2. The show ip int b shows no ip assigned bcoz the int is shutdown
