    Hum ok , do you remember the question on sims?

  2. CertKing
    September 29th, 2017

    Sims are the same as on this site. RIP2, DHCP

  3. gareth
    September 29th, 2017

    But you said you got different questions no?

  4. gareth
    September 29th, 2017

    Oh ok nvm

    Do you got one of this

    Did you have those
    Which protocol provides best-effort delivery of user data in a network?
    If NVRAM lacks boot system commands where does the router look for the cisco ios by default
    WAN Data link encapsulation types include which of the following
    Which of the following commands enables a network admin to verify the application layer connectivtiy between devices
    What 8-bit field exists in IP packet for QoS
    Which of the following are found in a tcp header but no in a udp header
    Which transport layer protocol is best suited for the transport of VoIP data

    I think Gareth needs some real study time. If you cant go learn what the different cable types are, you have no business even trying for CCNA

  9. gareth
    September 29th, 2017

    @Anonymous i know cables

    10BASE-FX= fiber
    10base5=coaxial
    100BASETX=twisted

    But i cant understand the goal of including usb cable , there are not in IEE norms

    Hello All,

    Yesterday tried to pass the test for the first time. I got 812 of 832 unfortunately. The drag and drop question has to do with ehthernet type(100base FX ,TX etc) and with what kind of type(inshielded twisted pair,etc). Also remember a question about CEF, and a question about the MTU size when on 802.1q. About the SIMS ,the security testlet and the DHCP sim fell to me but with different answers as the appeared issues was different from the files provided here. I downloaded the 351 dumb file from Jolie,is there any newest file that someone can share? From the total 54 questions i think almost 20 saw for the first time. Any help woulb be much appreciated.

    @ gareth, do you remember the full cabling question? I got it and it confused me

  13. Gareth
    September 30th, 2017

    @thomas

    The question about cef was about which components is used With it ?
    The mtu on trunk need to add 4byte

    FX=fiber
    TX =twisted
    10base-2=coaxial

    Did you have question about firewall , dns . Syslog and full mesh?

  14. Gareth
    September 30th, 2017

    So the question was about matching fiber twisted to 100baseFX and so on ?

  15. Thomas
    September 30th, 2017

    @Gareth,

    Yes regarding the “matching fiber twisted to 100baseFX and so on”

    I had a question for the Bus topology,regarding the Syslog dont remember exactly the words but was for message 6 syslog.

    For the CEF i think the question was “What disables CEF” and found that question from the 351dumb but didnt found the others questions

  16. Thomas
    September 30th, 2017

    @Gareth

    Also had questions for DNS but dont remember exactly

  17. Gareth
    September 30th, 2017

    @Thomas DNS question was : how to tshoot dns ?

    Syslog was : Level of message sent by défault (0-6)?

    What was the question about bus ?

    Did you remember the other câble type ? Coaxial fiber twisted and ?

    Check the question I posted above , did you get one of those ?

  18. Ogee
    September 30th, 2017

    You have to match them,
    Twisted>>>>10/100/1000mbs
    Fiber>>>>>>BASE-BX

    Question for everyone –
    Which set of conditions comprises a successful ping attempt between two connected routers configured with IP addresses on the same subnet?

    A. The destination host receives an echo reply from the source host within one second and the source host receives an echo reply from the destination
    host within two seconds.

    uhmmm what? It should be.

    These are new questions gathered from our candidates’ reports.

    Question 1

    Syslog – what does not belong: host name , severity, timestamp, message

    Question 2

    What does a switch use for communication between VLANS: answer is VTP

    Question 3

    Maximum MTU for ethernet when doing 802.1Q : 1522

    Question 4

    When configuring a default gateway, should it be ip route 0.0.0.0…. or serial 0/0 0.0.0.0…… – dont know answer

    Question 5

    What is 0.0.0.0 address – gateway of last resort, default gateway, null address. i think its default gateway

    Question 6

    What is the purpose of a standard access list – to filter traffic based on destination address; to deny traffic…i wasn’t sure if standard ACLs filter or deny

    Question 7

    If you are in VLAN 10 and it gets a packet from VLAN 2 with 802.1q enabled, what does it do with the packet? Drops the packet ; forwards it to VLAN 2 ; configures the port to handle traffic from VLAN 2 ; adds it to the VLAN database…I wasn’t sure

    Question 8

    Drag drop question about cable types

    Answer:

  54. ezad
    October 1st, 2017

    10BASE-5 BX does not exist

    Tv connection = coaxial
    10/100/1000 = twisted

    TX=Twisted

    FX=fiber

  55. R
    October 1st, 2017

    @vugo,

    I’m pretty sure the answer is 1600 for baby giant error.

    If the default is 1500, then `>1500 but less than 1601 ( I put the 1601) would be a baby giant.

    If the default is 1518, then >1519 but less 1601 would be the baby giant.

    For alleviate depletion it should be 1518.

    October 1st, 2017

    @Vugo how many choices did you had on the drag and drop

  74. Xcessive
    October 1st, 2017

    Kinda confused on question 4 & 5. Default gateway would be the ip address on the router. If you configured it on a switch you would use the up default-gateway command.

    Ip route 0.0.0.0 would be used for setting the gateway of last resorton a router, so I would assume 0.0.0.0 address would be gateway of last resort or maybe null address depending on what the question is asking

    What is 0.0.0.0 address – gateway of last resort, default gateway, null address. i think its default gateway

    If its in the ip route command –> default gateway

    Or null adress

    What would you say?

  82. ezad
    October 1st, 2017

    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 = gateway of last ressort

  83. R
    October 1st, 2017

    @ezad

    It might be the question for it.

    @ezad

    Which of the following are found in a TCP header, but not in aUDP header?
    (Choose three)
    A. Checksum
    B. Sequence number
    C. Destination port
    D. Window size
    E. Acknowledgment number
    F. Source port

    Answer: B, D and E

    UDP only contains four.

    Source port number (2 bytes)
    Destination port number (2 bytes)
    Length of data (2 bytes)
    UDP checksum (2 bytes)

    Question 2

    What does a switch use for communication between VLANS: answer is VTP

    Hum i would say L3 devices right?

    Or VTP to propagate vlan

  88. R
    October 1st, 2017

    @ezad

    You are right.

    VLAN communicate in Switch if it is a Layer 3. It allows encapsulation since it is a combination of Router and a Switch.

    IF it is a Layer 2 Switch then it requires router on a stick to communicate to different VLANS.
    We create encapsulation on the serial interface on the router so it will became the default vlan route that allows communication to different VLANS.

    Just correct me if I an wrong.

  89. ezad
    October 1st, 2017

    I dont understand the question above , weird question

    A. Ping a public website IP address.
    B. Ping the DNS Server.
    C. Determine whether a DHCP address has been assigned.
    D. Determine whether the hardware address is correct.
    E. Determine whether the name servers have been configure

  97. Xcessive
    October 1st, 2017

    A & B …. hmm I’ll have to look at Syslog then, but I think logging part of it is for external device and needs to be enabled

  98. Xcessive
    October 1st, 2017

    You would need to use the logging host command to enable logging to external server.
    Exp: logging host 192.168.11.101
    Logging traps 5

  99. ezadd
    October 1st, 2017

    So B and C are correct ?

    For the DNS question dumps say B and E

  100. Xcessive
    October 1st, 2017

    For the syslog question I think A & D are correct. Syslog logging is for sending to an external server and it is not enabled by default. You have to use the logging host command with up address of syslog server to enable.

    The dumps I have from how2pass are saying A & B for dns question
