    @Dave3
Which NTP command configures the local device as an NTP reference clock source?
    A. ntp peer
    B. ntp broadcast
    C. ntp master < wrong
    D. ntp server < Correct!

  3. Pl413r
    October 25th, 2016

    @Dave3
I will double check that…i know ntp master set a router to act as a server and always trust its internal clock. At least one in the network should have this role. And ntp server make router to act as client and pointing it to to server. Sorry i was wrong DONT consider my correction!

@Dave I saw this in the Default Gateway Sim out of your ICND 1 package:

Users in the main office complain that they are unable to reach internet sites. You observe that internet traffic

that is destined towards ISP router is not forwarded correctly on Router R1. What could be an issue?

Ping to Internet server shows the following results from Server1:

    R1#ping 209.165.200.225

    Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 209.165.200.225, timeout is 2 seconds:

    …..

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)

    A. The next hop router address for the default route is incorrectly configured.

    B. Default route pointing to ISP router is not configured on Router R1.

    C. Default route pointing to ISP router is configured with AD of 225.

    D. Router R1 configured as DHCP client is not receiving default route via DHCP from ISP router.

    Answer:
    A. The VLAN encapsulation is misconfigured on the router subinterfaces.

It’s not one of the choices 🙁

Table 1 – Reference Clock Source Configuration
    1

Configure the local device to use a remote NTP clock source.

    router(config)#ntp server {ip-address | hostname}

    or

    1

Configure the local device as a NTP reference clock source.

Note: The stratum-numbercan be from 1 to 15 and indicates the advertised accuracy of the local reference clock.

Thanks, Ghosy for the link, ist’s absolutely in ” Plain English” I will go for the NTP master!!

By chance, can you ask this Teacher about 1, any link, about troubleshooting a WAN who has SERVER, ACL & NAT access issues ….. I really, really wants to grab the process of troubleshooting It! The Pineapple Link is not enough for me…..I took the class 1 year ago, got to busy
(NEW JOB ) to take the EXAM and troubleshooting server with ACL& NAT were not the main concern on Passing the Exam!!
    Thanks again!!

    @CISCOTE
    Unfortunately i can´t share the video cause it´s protected…
Troubleshooting is not rock science man.
All you need to do is understand how ACL and NAT works (and OSI model from botton up), so when you run “show” commands on the equipment you will know what´s wrong.
    Example:
r1#show run (will display that there is a acl apllied to interface g0/1 blocking any traffic from going in) so that will be a possible answer in icnd1 test related to it…that´s it!…hope it helped 🙂

    Good luck!!!
ps: i remember one question about ntp and the correct answer it was ntp strum.

    answers
Source send a request and Destination send a replay within a 1 Sec.( I take this)

Guess the NAT ones would be:

    or
show ip nat statistics – This monitors the counters on NAT translation

    Very new questions.Today i have only 50 % from Dave’s.
    Lab was the same.

    – How does 6qp4 works? ( not sure about qp).
    1.Both ends must support IPv4?
    2.Both ends must support IPv6 and IPv4?
3.One of end must be confifured with IPv4?

    – If Cisco E.F. (CEF)is enable what will be automaticly disable?
    1.ACL lists
    2.Something about NAT
    ——
    – What is that

    router # ip nat pool 10.10.10.1 10.10.10.20 255.255.255.0
    1/dhcp pool
    2/nat translation

I try to remember only new and share. Before one week the questions are more easy than today. So good luck to everyone who will get CCNET.
One of new question was : What is happened if lan cable is too long? (don remember the answers).

  72. Niner
    October 29th, 2016

@Whittakerlap, I had those same questions. Failed with an 813.

It should be 6to4. Its used to migrate ipv4 to ipv6. Not sure if Im right, but I went with both ends must support ipv6 and ipv4.

The CEF question was a guess.

The IP Nat pool question, I went with dynamic nat.

  73. Vince
    October 29th, 2016

@Niner i go with the same for NAT pool and 6to4.

  74. Tap0ut
    October 29th, 2016

On the 1-way NAT question: 1-way NAT is another term for PAT or overload, so the answer in that case should be D.

    Further explanation:

What they are referring to is PAT or port address translation where many internal IP addresses are translated to a single public IP address such as the one on the interface. This is 1 way NAT because you can initiate communication from inside of your network to the outside, but the outside cannot initiate communication to you.

After recieving this information I did a little reasearch on PAT and found this.

    http://www.techrepublic.com/article/set-up-port-address-translation-pat-in-the-cisco-ios/

So being the PAT is “NAT Overload” Translation can take place from the inside to outside. Being that the nature of PAT translates multiple IP’s into a single IP you can not set up PAT or “one way NAT” to translate from the outside to inside.

I hope this could be of help to you.

6to4 tunneling, is an IPv6 transition mechanism described in RFC 3056.

Like many other transition mechanisms, it enables encapsulation of IPv6 packets into IPv4 for transport across an IPv4 network.

What’s really neat about 6to4 is that it allows for automatic IPv6-to-IPv4 address translation, and treats the underlying IPv4 network as one big non-broadcast multi accesse (NBMA) network, rather than a collection of independent point-to-point links.

Hi guys! I took my icnd1 yesterday and passed with 906, passing score was 832. My exam had 54 questions. I’ve finished it 75 minutes.

A lot of questions of @Dave’s quiz and dumps posted last week.
Some new questions, here goes what i remember :
What command shows how many nat translations have occured in a router?

How ipv6 packets can be transmited in a ipv4 network?

The same question that @Ghosy said, about icmp, why a ping fails , it was very confusing text, something like this :
a destination recive a icmp reply, and a source recive an icmp request on one second, and three more confusing alternatives
a destination recive a icmp request , and a source recive an icmp reply in 2 seconds (I’ve assigned this)

    Sims:

The basic of security wrong banners, passwords and logins lines configs, the same posted by @Dave
Another with 3 routers running ripv2, reditributing default.
    I remember 3 problems

1.The clock of R3 (connected to isp) was synchronized with the isp, but the R2 adjacent was not, solution r2 there was not the ntp server command.

    2. No nat translations. Solution wrong access list with a permit 127.0.0.1

    3. Dhcp, solution dhcp pool was configured in a diferent network

Thanks to all who contributed to the content of 9tut. This site is amazing.

An excessively long cable would produce a high number of late collisions on an interface.

    @Tiago
Is this the ipv6 question you had?
Which three approaches can be used while migrating from an IPv4 addressing scheme to an IPv6 scheme? (Choose three)

A.static mapping of IPv4 address to IPv6 addresses
    B.configuring IPv4 tunnels between IPv6 islands X
    C.use DHCPv6 to map IPv4 addresses to IPv6 addresses
D.use proxying and translation (NATPT) to translate IPv6 packets into IPv4 packets X
    E.configure IPv6 directly
    F.enable dualstack routing X

GUYS! have you noticed that they are so many MISTAKE on those dumps??
That bug me out BIG TIME!! Please help!!!

    FOR EXAMPLE:
Which two commands will display the current IP address and basic Layer 1 and 2 status of an interface?( Choose two)
    A. router# show version
    B. router# show ip interface
    C. router# show protocols
    D. router# show controllers
    E. router# show running-config

    NOW ON:
    Q.27 From VCEplus274q.pdf ( A: show ip interface & show protocols )

    Q.27 From 274q PasLeader SECURED 100-105.pdf (A: show ip interface & show protocols )

    Q.91 From 100-101 ( A: show ip interface & show protocols )

    Q.66 Fro Latest-Cisco-Ensuree-ICND1-100-101Dumps-PDF.pdf (A:show protocols & show controllers)

Dont give me wrong I HAVE CHECKED & Googleed and it make me confuse since:
    a) show controllers will show L1
    b) show protocols will show L1 & L2

I was opting for: show ip interface & show protocols because according what I read ” show controllers is basically to see the status of your cable!!!

PLEASE HELP Pl413r, DAVE & any one!!

Show ip interface and show protocols is correct because it shows you the same thing. I just double checked on two of my routers. (My job allowed me to purchase a lab on their dime) @ciscotte
