    Quick Question (exam in two hours) I see this question is different in all of the dumps. Which one is correct?

    Which values is indicated by the next hop in a routing table?

    How the route was learned?
    Preference of the route source?
    IP address of the remote router for forwarding the packets?<—some say this
    Exit Interface IP address for forwarding packets?<—other say this

    Hi everyone, i can really use some advice from some professionals.

    I just watched CBTNuggets videos and went through a CCENT 100-105 book, i dont feel too confident about taking the test yet. What should i study that will be on the test? I wanna actually learn the certification before i start using dumps which is why im asking!

    NTP, RIPv2, DHCP, NAT, IPv4 Broadcast etc…., VLANs

    Just go on the cisco site and look at the exam topics for 100-105. If you see something you’re not 100% on, study that.

  8. Dave3
    October 31st, 2016

    Once you feel you know most topics take a practice quiz and note down anything you do not understand or that you get wrong.

    You can then study these topics.

    show protocols and show ip interface are most certainly correct

    Get Cisco PacketTracer (free) and run the commands to verify, don’t just take answers on this forum as gospel as there is definitely some incorrect answers being given. No offense to anyone..the bajillion show commands confuse us all. 🙂

    what is the best way to practice the labs from the exam? I got Dave’s dumps and there are +500 test questions, which is great. But what can of labs simulations can I expect in the exam? (are they like a packet tracer exercise that we need to complete before X minutes?)

  26. CISCOTTE

    Still confuse on that one!!

    Two hosts are attached to a switch with a default configuration. Which statement about the configuration is true?

    A) IP routing must be enabled to allow the two hosts to communicate
    B) The two hosts are in the same broadcast domain
    C) The switch must be configured with a VLAN to allow the two hosts to communicate
    D) Port security prevents the hosts from connecting to the switch

    A or B is my option since they is only 1 switch & no VLAN – STILL can’t be 100% SURE

  27. Tap0ut
    November 1st, 2016

    @Ciscotte Answer is B, by default both hosts will be in VLAN 1 which is a broadcast domain.

  28. Tap0ut
    November 1st, 2016

    @Ciscotte, I hit submit too soon. By default, vlan 1 always exists

  29. Noob
    November 1st, 2016

    @CISCOTTE – That question is wrong on the dumps, I think. IP routing is the answer on the dumps and it doesn’t make sense to me. It has to be B since a router is the only device to break up broadcasts.

    Two hosts are attached to a switch with a default configuration. Which statement about the configuration is true?

    A) IP routing must be enabled to allow the two hosts to communicate
    B) The two hosts are in the same broadcast domain <——- ANSWER
    C) The switch must be configured with a VLAN to allow the two hosts to communicate

    PL413r & Dave:In that question I would like to know WHAT would be your theory about it: A/B???I’m still confuse the way they are presenting the question??? To me it’s DOUBLE TALK!!
    Thanks Guys!

    Can anyone tell, we can go back and forth between questions OR do we have to answer them as they appear. I was wondering if i could skip the tough questions and come back on them later ??

  32. Tap0ut
    November 1st, 2016

    @ciscotte

    A switch does does not require ip routing for 2 hosts to communicate if they are in the same vlan. A L2 switch “switches” traffic via destination MAC, so A is wrong.

    A vlan = a broadcast domain period. Meaning if an ethernet broadcast packet came in to a vlan, it would be sent out all ports within that vlan except the port it was received on.

  33. CISCOTTE
    November 1st, 2016

    Thanks TapOut – clear now!!

  34. kik
    November 1st, 2016

    Standard Ethernet frame MTU is 1500 bytes. This does not include the Ethernet header and Cyclic
    Redundancy Check (CRC) trailer, which is 18 bytes in length, to make the total Ethernet frame size
    of 1518. In this document, MTU size or packet size refers only to Ethernet payload. Ethernet frame
    size refers to the whole Ethernet frame, including the header and the trailer. Baby giant frames
    refer to Ethernet frame size up to 1600 bytes, and jumbo frame refers to Ethernet frame size up to
    9216 bytes.

    1 ) Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error? > 1518
    2 ) Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error? > 1600

    So its 1518 correct ?

  35. Zayn
    November 1st, 2016

    @kik been discussed many times, its 1600

  36. kik
    November 2nd, 2016

    @Zayn
    but refer to the explanation. MTU is 1500 b; frame is 1518; so in the options is mtu size, if MTU is 1600 -> frame 1618 and it is a jumbo frame error ; right ? i want to be sure.
    From Cisco documents :
    Baby giants are supported, however they are counted as oversized giant packets.
    The error counter is incremented in the output of the show interface command

  42. Tiago
    November 2nd, 2016

    @kik
    If you have a frame with 1600 bytes of payload, and add 18 bytes of header and trailer, its ok. But if you add a vlan tag (4) you can cause a baby giant error.
    Its the same about standard frame, 1500 standard +18 its ok, but if you add a vlan tag 4, it cause a standard frame error.
    So 1518 can cause a standard frame error, and 1600 a baby giant error.
    You can try these configurations in packet-tracer.

  60. Not Dave
    November 3rd, 2016

    @CISCOTTE check this link https://routing-bits.com/2009/06/02/understanding-cef/

    Crystal clear explanation…
    What really matters in understanding CEF , is to keep in mind that SWITCHING in a ROUTER ( or forwarding packets ) , is the process of receiving a packet in one interface and forwarding it out of another interface .
    CEF is like a copy of the routing table ( layer 3 information ) and adjacency table includes MAC ( layer 2 ) information. So CEF is a mechanism that speed up this decision (find the right output interface) by actually building these two tables (CEF and adjacency) and finally combine them.
    (To go a little further , CEF and adjacency tables are built during the convergence of a network and have optimized lookups so that recursive lookups are avoided , which is one more advantage over the other method

    Hi Guys…
    I just did it and pass my ICND! 100-105 exam yesterday
    I am really busy preparing for ICND2, BUT, I really wanna help others as others REALLY helped me..
    I will try my best to remember what questions I had
    A- From Pass Leaders pdf files, I had the following questions numbers (2-3-8-9-14-15-16-18-27-31-36-47-49-53-68-69-72) and simlet was the questions (95-96-97-98).
    There were some questions about finding subnet address but I really don’t remember which ones but they are on the range (33-41-76-103)
    B- From Gratis Exam pdf file, I had the following questions numbers (1-5-8-12-14-19-22-24-26-30-31-32)
    C- There was a question about successful ICMP, the answers were differ from 1 second to seconds and I guess the correct answer was for the sender to send echo and the reciever echo reply within 2 seconds…but not sure yet
    D- There was a question about Vlan creation…
    what will be the output of the following
    Switch1(config)vlan 10
    Switch1(config-if)do show vlan
    E- There was a question about router on a stick but I really don’t rememeber it…
    F- There was a question to which statement is true about routing protocols, and answer was that OSPF is a link state protocol. I think it is in one of the files
    G- There was a question which routing protocol notation has the lowest administrative distance, I guess it is (D) EIGRP…

    Best of luck to all..

    Hi all,

    Today I took my ICND 100-105 today.
    I passed scoring 906 out of 1000.

    I like to thank @dave and everyone else who contributed in the quiz simulations and took part in giving information and what to except in this exam.

    Most of the questions I got were pretty much the same as the quiz @dave put up with about 5 or 6 different questions.

    The sims I got a NAT,NTP ,Security logins and ACL .

    How I studied was I read the study guide and Udemy Chris Bryant CCNA BOOT CAMP , Alpha Prep and did the quiz that was supplied here.
    Thank you everyone again and if you have any questions feel free to ask as I will help as much as I can.

    Cheers,
    Seba

    @MaMoShKa,

    Thanks for sharing the information, it helps a lot.

    Just curious, EIGRP and OSPF are not part of ICND1 100-105 exam, i wonder why did you had questions from these two topics.

    @shadows

    It was a question about administrative distance issue, not in details about the protocols.

    and I am not sure if there were S or C in the choices, if they were, then C will be the correct answer

    @PL413r

    Have you double check it on your ROUTER?

    YOU: October 31st, 2016
    Which two commands will display the current IP address and basic Layer 1 and 2 status of an interface?( Choose two)
    A. router# show version (just wrong)
    B. router# show ip interface X
    C. router# show protocols (wrong command right is sh ip protocols)
    D. router# show controllers X
    E. router# show running-config (doesnt show l1)

    HE SAID:Tap0ut – November 1st, 2016
    show protocols and show ip interface are most certainly correct

  79. PL413r
    November 4th, 2016

    @shadows
    You need to know Administratives Distances of those protocols, cause they can be on ICND1.

    @SebaVeron
    If we helped you so much please share all diferent questions you remember you had on your test. Please!

    The exam is tough, only 35 questions on here. you need another 7 questions to pass. best advise is to keep studying all the questions on here.
    no coming back to the questions is a killer, no reviews so best waiting for me to confirm again next in 3 weeks time.Good luck

    November 5th, 2016

    Took the ICND1 100-105 exam today was asked 54 questions and had to make an 832 and passed with 900+ score. I spent the average test taker’s four months studying a few hours each night and several entire weekends over those four months. There is no shortcut (i.e. studying dumps) for this exam, so don’t bother with dumps free or paid they are a distraction. I have reviewed all posted here and none were as useful as focused studying. Most of the dumps or links to dumps you find here all have a lot of irrelevant material from older exams so you will go off track studying dumps. You must know the key topics from the Wendell Odom Official Cert Guide books PERIOD. In addition to knowing the key topics you MUST have hands on from equipment or a simulator. I highly recommend Boson’s simulators as they worked wonders for me. I also recommend Boson’s practice exams as they are the closest to the real exam as you can get. Boson’s practice exams are harder than the real exam and the Pearson IT practice exams that come with the Wendell Odom books are much harder than the real exam. Both Boson and Pearson practice exams are highly useful in study mode so use them if you have them. Good luck! On to begin mastery of ICND2!!

    Hello everyone,

    Just passed ICND1 a few hours ago with a 860/1000. Wasn’t the best score ever but a pass is a pass. As far as my test went, @Dave was the Game Changer here because he had practically everything you need from this test. The SIMs I had dealt with NAT, NTP, DHCP, and ACLs. I would say at least 75% of the test consisted of the quiz, practice labs, and SIMs @Dave provided. Also some of the questions from the 274q VCE practice test were up there so study that as well. I can’t think of questions that weren’t covered here, but when I do think of them I’ll be sure to let you know. Good Luck to you all!
