I passed the exam today!!! Studied using CBT Nugget and Dave’s ICND1 package. The 274q had about 50% of the questions on it. Sims were NTP, ACLS, DHCP and NAT. I had a lot of subnetting questions and IPv6. Thanks guys!

i dont remember correctly but i think u will get the point. read about 6to4.

About this questions, they are not in the Odom book 100 – 105 and when i was reading the tutorial during the exam there was this thing that not all questions are scored. MAYBE there will be some questions for testing only for future exams. These questions are not included in the final score.

-host must have a global ipv4 address connected as the host is resposible for encapsulationg outgoing ipv6 packet?

No fast switching, no process switching, just terminology that i havent met in 100 – 105

I believe it is one of the new questions used to steal some point from test taker.

CEF before was part of CCIE exam then they bring it to CCNP 300-301, how they ask this topic in CCENT, it is ridiculous.

During Simulation, Can we use context sensitive help ?? And do they block some commands like Show Running-Configuration etc ??

Just passed the icnd1 today by a razor thin margin. Passing score: 832 Mine: 836. My advice to all of you is to study those 274q packets front and back because the majority of questions come from there. Another thing is to actually have work with sims. They are not something you can memorize because the syario will likely be different each time.

Congrat!! But about the Sims: how many & what ( DHCP, ACL, NAT , RIP ) ???

Passed it yesterday. Learning the SIMs and quiz that Dave put up will be enough to pass but I did questions that were not on his quiz or the 274q brain dump. You need to understand the concepts to be sure and then just go through each answer to decide which answer is most likely correct. Best of luck!

In exam, with the SIM did you have to use, “copy running-config startup-config” command OR to SAVE in some how????

no copy running, on the sim you will need show running-config or show? will give you list of options
Also use show ip int brief

Head up everyone, without knowing the sim you wont pass. I had 700+ never paid attention to the sim.

Hey guys.

Taking ICND1-exam next Monday. Questions are no problem, but the sims are. Having trouble with the mass of commands and what exactly I’ll have to focus on. Read stuff about ACL and Trouble Shooting.

Any advice is welcome on how to at least get some points out of the sims.

6to4 – We dont even know the question so is hard to guess…all i remember it lets ipv6 go through ipv4 networks, (just learn about it and you will easilly know what to answer in real test)
CEF – By what I read about it… when you disable CEF it disables the other enabled functionality…I think it is fast switching (also just learn what that is and you will be fine)

I dont think so, as I recommend you to know the full command name like “show running-config”, cause I dont think It has autocomplete either.

Are all the questions from Gratis correct?

Can we use the “?” on the CLI during the exam sims?

Experts, please give tips on how to manage time during Exam because questions are random and you cannot go back so if my first question is a simulator, that will take quite a bit. Also Is there anyone who was short of time and couldn’t answer all questions?

I was just confused and frustrated when the commands were not working for me. Little did I know that the commands were simple. We actually need help with the main commands. For example, ” show running config” does not work. Use ” Show run” instead. The Sims carry more points. If you don’t get at least 70% right, you might not pass.

@ciscoette – when I took the ICND test – my answer was that the NTP server command was not configured at all.

It was the Sim that cost me the exam. So for you all, you should pass. study the sim and dont rush out of the exam.

Failed with an 801 when I needed an 832 🙁 I think I will get it next time. A lot of stuff from Dave’s package was present

However, what were the SIM you got on your exam??? Cause some one said ” Slight change to sim ” but won’t tell you WHAT??? WONDERING WHY???

The sims I saw were very similar to the ones Dave handed out! ACL, DHCP, NAT, etc

I will have to review over what is exactly in Dave’s package once I get home from work and try to relay any changes I noticed..

Based on googledrive with pineapple password (on the dropbox there is not show command so cant be sure):
A) R1 router Ethernet interface that is connected to R2 is placed in shutdown condition
B) R2 router Ethernet interface that is connected to R1 is placed in shutdown condition
C) The NTP server command not configured on R2 router
D) The IP address that is use in the NTP configuration on R2 router is incorrect X

Explanation:
Look at the link between R1 and R2, there is a network 192.168.10.0/30, It means that one router interface has the address 192.168.10.1 and other has 192.168.10.2 because it is /30 (two hosts only can be within this mask).
By the show command you can see in red that the IP is 192.168.100.1 which is INCORRECT…It should’ve been 192.168.10.1
This can be different in your test so be prepared to read and understand how to troubleshoot DHCP problems and you will easily pass.
