    @CISCOTTE
    I recomend you to take and retake packet tracer SIMs that Dave posted, there, you can troubleshoot all of these problems yourself.
    Take your time and Don’t give up untill you fully understand what the problems are on them.

    @shadows
    Experts, please give tips on how to manage time during Exam because questions are random and you cannot go back so if my first question is a simulator, that will take quite a bit. Also Is there anyone who was short of time and couldn’t answer all questions?

    Explanation:
    You should spend only 2 minutes os less in average on each question (so you will have more time for to answer SIMs). So study hard and test your skills untill you can get 90% of the dumps with the average of 2 minutes on each question.(split dumps with 60 questions max)

    Passed!
    274 dumps are still valid.
    Understand the sim and learn the questions from the dumps and you can ace it easily .
    Got the dumps from here for the cheapest price I could find http: //bit.do/cR5GA

    Good Luck all

    the labs are the same but with new questions.

    Nat was misconfigured
    NTP was not configured at all
    DHCP had an error – etc

    The labs posted here are good for testing, but you will fail unless you understand exactly how to configure NAT/NTP/DHCP I failed – missed it by 1 question. Im retaking it next week.

    If the banner says “Welcome! Please contact the system administrator if you need assistance” is this considered poor wording? I saw something similar in the configs on the sims that asked what was wrong with the configurations of a switch/router…

  11. LilYachty
    November 15th, 2016

    Not 100% sure of the wording, but it was something along those lines

    @Noes, how do you know by 1 question? I scored 801, do you know about how many I was off by?

  13. Kameinsuu
    November 15th, 2016

    The word “Welcome” should not be in a genuine banner. It’s an invitation that could be used by intruders as excuse. I have read about this in almost all the Cisco books around here including the “Official Cert Guide” by Odom.

    About:
    In some how, I knew it BUT still it bugging me! Because, the UPDATE suppose coming from R1 and R1 (sh r ) is staging that ( NO IP address, shutdown ) . So A/D ?????? still on the AIR ????

    Answer: Only D is correct, you can’t be sure if the R1 interface that is connected to R2 is in shutdown, because It doesn’t say on the sh run.

    About:
    So by chance, have you investigate the issue at your JOB? Sorry I didn’t get chance with PKT or BOSON!!!
    Any advise is sincerely appreciate!!( WHICH I COULD TALK TO YOU!! )

    Answer: The only problem om my Job right now is that is paying me too little! 🙁
    Btw if you mean that i have tested that on PKT answer is no, because we don’t have enough info in sh run as I am positive this one is D.
    Have you done the labs that Dave posted? If yes and also understood what was wrong on them you will pass easily.

    @noes
    Dave labs teach you how to troubleshoot many (if not all problems) that you gonna face in real test. It doesn’t worth to trust SIMS/labs from dumps because they are gonna probably be different in real test. For me SIM dumps only helps in the way so I know how the questions are, nothing else!

    Thanks for the new 57 question test CISCOTTE. What is the source(s)?

  42. Noes
    November 16th, 2016

    @pi413r The questions I had in the lab were about ntp stratum and ntp not cconfigured with an IP address. No nat questions but I had security which had a login login local line as well las service password encryption on. The passwords for vty were wrong and the Vty lines were 0-15 but the question said it was up to 5 connections. So that was not a right answer. It I still missed it. There was a dhcp misconciguration but I missed it. And the ACL QUESTION blocking a server vlan

  44. Pl413r
    November 16th, 2016

    @Noes
    Thanks for sharing your experience !
    As you might know:
    -stratum is related to how good the ntp source is
    -login local command uses the previous created username and password command
    -service password encryption will encrypt all types of password in the device
    -line vty 0 4 would be 5 connections
    -dhcp can be tricky so be aware of wrong configurations ip addressing etc
    -ACL you will easilly see in show run command

    Good luck to us!

  45. noes
    November 16th, 2016

    @CiscoTTE, it looks like some of those questions have wrong answers that are from the new ICNDv3 study guide on here.

    CDP is on vlan 1 by default
    baby giant is 1600mtu
    the ip address of the remote router is the next hop on the network, etc.
    9tut needs to update these…

  46. noes
    November 16th, 2016

    @PL413r – there is a vty line where the config is

    login login local (not login or login local)

    there is a question regarding how VTY will act or something with this configuration – I have no idea, I missed it.

  47. Pl413r
    November 16th, 2016

    @noes
    About login local (btw “login login local” is wrong. it “login” only or “login local” only)
    lets say you do
    Router(config)# username cisco password cisco1
    .
    .
    .
    Router(config-line)# line vty 0 4
    Router(config-line)#login local
    Router(config-line)#transport input telnet
    …when you try telnet the router you will need to enter username: cisco password:cisco1 (because you entered login local command) as it will only allow 5 simultaneos telnet connection to the router

    If primary and secondary root switches with priority 16384 both experience catastrophic losses, which teritary switch can take over ?

    A. Link-state routing protocols choose a path by the number of hops to the destination (incorrect, distance vector protocols use hop count)
    B. OSPF is a link-state routing protocol. X
    C. Distance-vector routing protocols use the Shortest Path First algorithm. (incorrect, doesnt make sense distance vector dont use short path first)
    D. IS-IS is a distance-vector routing protocol. (incorrect this is a link state)

    Which option is the default switch port port-security violation mode?
    A. shutdown X
    B. protect
    C. shutdown vlan
    D. restrict

    Which dynamic routing protocol uses only the hop count to determine the best path to a destination?
    A)IGRP (not in icnd1)
    B)RIP X
    C)EIGRP (incorrect,this is hibrid it uses both, distance vector and link state)
    D)OSPF (this use is link state and not distance vector )

    @PL413r

    Hi PL , Thanks for all your INPUT!!! But about that IPv6 I’m on my online for already 3h to try to find out some CLUE!!!

    The CLUE is that ” We would need to know what was exactly the question.” WHERE did you figure out > A.00000000 X (correct or ::0)

    Not sure if there is still some confusion about this question.. but I’m pretty sure NTP Server configures a remote device as the clock and the NTP Master is for local devices… I pulled this from a Pearson website:

    1.-Configure the local device to use a remote NTP clock source.

    –router(config)#ntp server {ip-address | hostname}

    2.-Configure the local device as a NTP reference clock source.

    –router(config)#ntp master stratum-number

    DO YOU REMEMBER IF YOUR IPv6 QUESTION ( Q-unique ipv6 address ) WAS THIS ONE?

    Select two (2) statements that are true about IPV6 unique local addresses
    A. ….identical to IPV4 private addresses
    B. uses FFC00::/7 as prefix
    C. XXXXXX
    D. *mentions something about global config or router / not entirely sure

    @Jedi so the answer is B, because you can only choose one answer and there are more than 5 connections allowed? 16, right? Let me know if I am wrong.. I was thrown off because the simulation I was working on said the answer was D

    Today passed with 883/1000. There were many new questions, most questions which have wrong answers in dumps are in exam. Total questions were 63. Dev simulations(ACL,DHCP,NAT,NTP, SEURITY) helped me alot. thanks for help. This website is very usefull for exam prepation.
    Good luck.

    Took it earlier in the week. Most of the test is in the 274q but there are a good amount of new questions (I didn’t have a single question from the 99-241 range FWIW). The SIMs were the same as the packet tracer examples. I thought the SIMs were very easy (none of them required conf t or any sort of configuration).

    Mark me as another that missed it by one question. I think now that I know what to study it will be much easier. I didn’t really use the VCE dumps and relied almost solely on CBTnuggets (the updated version from last month is great) and this forum. I should be done early next week.

    Also this is something that is a good to know:

    A floating static route floats or moves into and out of the IP routing table depending on whether the better (lower) administrative distance route learned by the routing protocol happens to exist currently. Basically, the router ignores the static route during times when the better routing protocol route is known.

    @PL413r & Anyone

    What is the purpose of flow control??

    A) To ensure data is retransmitted if an acknowledgement is not received
    B) To reassemble segments in the correct order at the destination device
    C) To provide a means for the receiver to govern the amount of data sent by the sender ???
    D) To regulate the size of each segment

    What is the purpose of flow control??
    A) To ensure data is retransmitted if an acknowledgement is not received
    B) To reassemble segments in the correct order at the destination device
    C) To provide a means for the receiver to govern the amount of data sent by the sender X
    D) To regulate the size of each segment

    Explanation: imagine that you have a big dump truck. Now you gonna transfer your load to a smaller truck. If you transfer it all at once you gonna flood the smaller truck. So that´s exactly what flow control does, It does let the receiver to be flooded by the sender, The sender knows it need to reduce the speed when it doesn’t receive acknowledgement from receiver.

    0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0 = 0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000 = ::0

    1111:1100 = 0xFC

    You tell me which one you think is correct?
