Thanks.
Passed today! my first ever professional certification so I was beyond nervous but I finished in roughly 25 minutes with a 962/1000! Not too much subnetting ironically but there were a good bit of sims and drag and drop. The D&D where you put the router command to the description it represents was there. Also the implementation sim was there BUT they changed the IPs and one IP was on there TWICE. So of the 4 options it may have been just to unnerve you a bit. Also the one sim where you end up on the fourth question running the int s0/0 then no shutdown command to get the LAN internet connection was there also. BUT they changed the ip of the network from the study materials so make sure you know the concept. So especially the 3rd question of that testlet that asked how many hosts. The practice material was always 14 based on a /28 network but the test was a /29. But easy enough if you know the concepts. I studied 9tut and sims, How2Pass.com questions (highly recommend them and their sims as well) as well as examcollections.com for the latest test dumps. i used the lead2pass dump from December. Good luck and on to ICND2!
Does anyone know if access lists appear on icnd1?
Passed the ICND1, over 95% on the exam.
I studied for about 2 weeks (4~ hours a day) using:
1) the official text
2) 9tut.net
3) the official CCENT simulator (for hands-on labs work)
4) subnettingquestions.com
5) VCEs from examcollection.com as practice tests
Onto ICND2!
Tom; you will not find Access Lists on the ICND 1.
Failed CCNA when I took it 7 months ago w/775 points, then passed ICND1 yesterday w/812. I recommend taking the two part exam personally. My score was not the best, but it showed me how much more reading and studying I needed. Everything on “9tut” is legit and will help you, especially the drag n drop and lab sims. They pretty much give the answers away! Once again it’s not enough to pass. Read. Read. Study. Study. One thing I like about 9tut is you can read a whole chapter about Frame Relay, and 9tut does an awesome job describing what you just read.
Materials:
Authorized Self-Study Guide “Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 1” (ICND1) Steve McCuerry. Found here -> ftp://ftp.uar.net/pub/e-books/
Cisco Packet Tracer
CBT Nuggets Jeremy Cioara
I have two other CCNA books I read over as well before taking ICND1.
Hello Xallax, this was my only way to contact you since I passed my CCNA. My question to you is, is there a website like this for Microsoft certs? I am contemplating studying for my MCSA and if there is a website like this for that it would be very helpful. Hope you are well and still teaching those little kids more letters in the alphabet?
@bigd
hey bigd!
if you’re looking for selftesting then try out examcollection. if you’re interested in discussing then you could try on

congrats and best of luck on your certification path to awesomeness!
Hi every body is there any body who did take ICND1 exam yesterday and today? if so what is the latest? cause I am doing it next week. what advice would you give me?
hi tech,
i took the icnd1 the other day and was able to pass it
i got the show sim & implementation sim on my exams..basically everything here in 9tut are still valid…
hope this helps
thanks feb04. how many lab Sims, sec test lets, hot spots and drag and drop were there?
hmmmm…
lab sims = 2 sets (show sim & implementation sim)
drag & drop = 1 set (dora)
sec testlet regarding router & switch settings = 4 questions
a lot of subnetting, WAN and wireless questions
those are the things I can remember…sorry…
Hi feb04, I hope you are doing well. I will pass my icnd 1 Friday, do you thing the question in exam collection (vce) are still valid? Many thanks in advance.
i used the one created by daniel which is still valid but dont memorize the answers especially for the subnetting questions. knowing the concepts will definitely help you a lot. it did from my end.
again, THANK YOU 9TUT AND ALL OF THE CONTRIBUTORS ON THIS WEBSITE! THANK YOU!
Many thanks feb!!
Hey guys and girls. Just wanted to throw this out there. My company is looking for a few low-mid level Cisco techs. I used this site heavily a few months ago to get my ENT/NA and am now working on my NA-V and I thought as a pay it forward Iβd offer the jobs to you guys. If youβre in the St. Louis, MO area and youβd like a little more info shoot me an email at jruessing@adb-us.com.
@ Xallax, where are you?
Taking my ICND1 on Friday…
I have read the Odom book twice…cover to cover and feel I know the concepts pretty well. Have configured switches and routers on the Simulator provided by CCNA Sybex books and did that from memory. Subnet perfectly fine with the good ol noggin…I hope I can pass this thing. Seeing that the score is 804 out of 1000 seems like there is little room for error. Wish me luck ladies and gents…I’ll be reviewing your questions posted until then.
I personally wish u lack as I am taking next week the ICND1. please feed me back and wish me luck.
Passed today 925/1000 Thank you 9tut next ICND2
I saw one question today i never saw on 9tut or the dump i used for study.
The question was something like what are or does mircosegmentation do…..?
I guesed the 3 logical awnsers.
Good luck to everybody.
RF congratulations,,,,, I am on next week wish me luck.. what can u remember about the test today? lab Sims, hot spots the most important one? pls let me know how many labs. thanks in advance
@bigd
my reply is still awaiting moderation…
mail me at ciscovce@ciscovce.com
passed today 962/1000.
1 or 2 new questions i haven’t seen yet.
I used CBT nuggets, packet tracer, CCENT book by Todd Lammle and 9tut…. Thanks and good luck everyone!!
Passed today in the 900’s. Labs sims are a need to know. Questions varied from exam collection and 9tut.net – Overall they were all on in these studying tools.
nj323ci. WHAT COULD U REMEMBER ABT THE EXAM TODAY. I AM ON NEXT WEEK? LET ME KNOW PLS
@Tech
only 2 simulators
2 or 3 testlets (4 questions within each)
know subnetting & show commands (interface, brief, cdp)
I would say 90-95% of info on 9tut and exam collections is accurate and complete
Use the bathroom before starting the test… lol, ask for 2 dry erase boards (they only gave me 1 and i asked for another), bring a water with you (helps you stay relaxed and take a breather every 10 questions or so)
Good Luck!!!
Haha.. I just have to comment on that one “nj323ci”… but yeah definitely take that bathroom break right before the test, they should offer it. I just happened to refuse it and yeah.. pretty much right when I clicked begin test I regretted it. Lol.
And yes, ask for a second dry-erase page, I did that even though I barely used the first one at all.. better safe than sorry though.
@ChristanF
LOL, that happened to me on one of my Microsoft exams a few years back, i learned my lesson to go even if i don’t really have to “go”. HAHA
I also did not use much of the dry erase board, but it’s better to have and not need….
Taking the exam tomorrow…I tried the BOSON practice questions and those were pretty hard…I hope the test isnt as bad…any feedback?
me too the day after. pls let me know the LABs you may come across, It will help
I had ICND1 exam today….750/1000…failed..80% q were from this site…
can u remember the difficulty questions you think you did not answer? pls let me know
Success///
can u remember the difficulty questions you think you did not answer? pls let me know
I took the test a few days ago and got a 799…going back to take it this friday
NetEng what was the hardest about the exam?
@Tech I think the security part was the most confusing but taking it on friday wish me luck
Taking my icnd1 this friday ahhhhhhh im not sure if im ready
NetEng… I took it today. and passed 912/1000.. you are right security was bit hard but make sure understand the simulations and commands. and finally wish you luck.
how do you know when you are ready can any one help
stressing out mind has gone blank worried i am going to fail
practice questions :
http://www.ciscovce.com
Exam tomarrow is there any config to do in the exam ? do brain dumps really help?
@Xallax
Could you please tell us what ciscovce.com ICND1 is exactly covering and if ciscovce questions are different than the ones in 9tut and also if they are covered in ICND1 actual test?
@pete
they cover the entire curriculum. you can find it here: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-4987
the questions are pretty much like these on 9tut (all brain dump questions are about the same) because they resemble what people recalled after attending the actual exam. main advantage is that you get them in VCE in PDF format
cheers
what the best study method because i mix up topics and i tend to be confused
what are the best study methods for CCNA because i mix up topics and i tend to be confused
Passed! got a 899.
CBT Nuggets
The Byrant Advantage
Wendell Odom ICND1 Book
9 tut was very helpful. I self studied all the way. If anyone else is going the same route I would strongly recommend the bryant advantage videos on udemy. The CBT Nuggets stuff was good and I learned a lot from it. But, Chris Bryant taught more real world in my opinion and there are some things that Jeremy doesn’t go much in to and Chris does. They are both great exam prep. To all of those are who are constantly asking for the dumps. Just learn the concepts. You will get chewed apart in a technical interview if you don’t really understand what you are talking about!
anyone know the result of icnd1 of 15/02/2013?
Done the exam today passed 812.
All i got 75% new content, asking various things from word definitions to new drag and drops. yes some of these are on this site, but a majority is new. Subnetting is a big part, but so is knowing alot of the wording on a cisco router/switch.
sorry i cannot remember any of the new content, but if i do remember i will post them on this.
all the best to exam takers.
what is the pass score?
hi John,
pass score is 803/804 cant remember.
done the exam on Friday with 914..
Passed yesterday with 880+ this website was very helpful. I seen a DHCP drag and drop question that I have never seen before
iam ready to take the exam tomorrow,
any suggestions are appreciate,
thanks!
I took the test on friday and managed a pass. Like pete I saw several of the testlest and labsim questions from this site….
In addition to this site I used the following as revision aids:
http://quizlet.com/10957314/cisco-icnd1-section-2-lan-switching-flash-cards/
http://www.subnettingquestions.com/ (do 10, if you get one wrong, your not ready yet!)
Packet tracer ( which was lacking in several IOS commands discussed in the books and tests)
Ideally being able to do subnetting with out paper is the best option. If you need to write down steps, then be very systematic and clear. Any mistakes with subnetting will cost you dear.
Boson ICND1 practice exam that came with the CCENT/CCNA ICND1 640-822 Official Cert Guide was very good. I did the practice exam until I got 94%, several times over making sure I was happy with 50 questions within the 90 min limit and that seemed to work for me. However I have to admit only just scrapping a pass (in my opinion) seeing 2 questions on the actual test that I had no clue over and made mistakes on 3 others. I got 90% (45 correct from 50) so the boson test simulator was a good predictor for me.
I didn’t bother buying the extra cost options like boson netsim simulator or anything like that. Perhaps I will for ICND2 though.
Can some one please send me latest dump for 640-822 to zamirtel@yahoo.com? I am planning to sit for exam withing next couple of weeks.
I took my test today and passed with 912. 90% of the questions in Cisco.Lead2Pass.640-822.v2012-12-09.by.ICND1.399q.vce were on the actual test.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
yes still valid , with little different
pass my exam with 950 thank you very much everybody on this website thanks for examcollection 9tut.net cbt nggt
Planning on taking the exams on friday. Your comments here are a great help. Scared though, not good at exams. Still got alot to review.
Should i push the exam to monday or just get on with it?
It depends how you personally feel on your knowledge. What areas do you think you need to work more on and why?
Maybe we could give you a few tips on last minute practices etc.
Remember you should feel confident going in to take exams.. keep in mind that you are there to prove what you already know and not there to learn something foreign.
Can some one please send me latest dump for 640-822 to rishidas2001@yahoo.com? I am planning to sit for exam withing next couple of weeks.

What sims are on the ICND 1 test
I passed ICND1 on 15Feb13(Friday).
I recently took classes at MyComputerCareer.Com.
They use Measureup.com for the practice exams(only has 152 Question bank) and we have to get a 90% in cert mode before they allow us to take the actual exam. I made sure that I was able to go through all 152 Qs and get a 95% before I felt comfortable with taking the cert exam, which I got a 95% on.
I have used examcollection.com previously on MS exams, but only used 9tut and Measureup.com this time.
I saw most of what was here on 9tut, also scanning the comments sections gave me some good insight for the exam as well.
Pay attention to the Sims here and know your subnetting.
I recommend CBT nuggets subnetting videos(even though we learned subnetting in class, this helped me to speed up my subnetting tremendously):
Advanced TCPIP IP Subnetting, Part 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbiiYz64NCo&list=PL03IBM17h7_XzCPeiRCuOfUAKghkk0Fbz
Advanced TCPIP IP Subnetting, Part 2:

Advanced TCPIP IP Subnetting, Part 3:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX4epXXNeZY&list=PL03IBM17h7_XzCPeiRCuOfUAKghkk0Fbz
thanks ChristanF. I feel somewhat confident with subnetting, and i’ve gone through all the concepts-i think π so i’m fairly confident. Going throuh revisions.
Quick question, in the exams simulations, does the tab key work or is it disabled?
I believe that the tab key was disabled for the exam, however I do remember that majority of the time the “?” IOS help option was available to be used in most situations.
Use subnettingquestions.com and check to see if you can answer those in between 30-50 seconds each..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs39FWDhzDs
Is the most helpful subnetting video in my opinion.. helps a ton to clarify things.. at least it did for me when I first struggled with it.
@King Solo.. by the way.. just wanted to wish you the best for tomorrow (if it is still scheduled)!! Anything else between now and then just let us know as always! Also be sure to let us know how it went!
Just from the exams. Passed! π With 862. Would have hoped for a perfect score but who’s complaining π ….. Relief.
Oh i noticed people doing the same so let me contribute.
First of, (1) learn the concept.
(2) Know your subnetting. If you need practice, subnettingquestions.com.
(3) Practice alot of questions 9tut.net ;). Some of questions i got were very similar to the ones here. That being said, don’t cram. See (1)
good luck to all taking the exam. On to ICND 2.
Congrats King Solo!!
Thanks. ChristianF. Oh i got this question that confused me a bit.
A switch has 48ports and 4 VLans. How many collision and broadcast domains does it have? (collision, broadcast)
Β€ 4,1
Β€ 4,48
Β€ 48,1
Β€ 1,48
Β€ 48,4
I choose the last answer. What do you guys think?
48, 4 .. you are right.. one CD for each port and then one Broadcast domain per Vlan.
yes u r right king
because each port is a collision domain ,
and since different vlan so it mean number of vlan = number of broadcast domain
congratulations king
but what kind of Questions you got in the exam?
can you remember?
thanks
hey guys am taking the exam on monday just want to know whats on the icnd1 exam and what should i expect in the exam.
My exam basically covered every topic. From got questions on mac addresses to wireless question. About 80 of the questions where in a story mode. I remembered a couple of question that referred to exhibits of SHOW COMMANDS and you were asked to perform tasks like determine the reason why the serial link is down. If you have packet tracer, get familiar with commands and their out put.
I seriou recommend you spend time at 9tut.net AFTER you’ve good through all your notes. A couple of questions where very similar to ones here and that helped me breeze through. Saved time. Good thing too coz when i came to the sim n testlet questions i had to spend a lot of time there.
Some commands where disabled like tab for all questions, but the ? worked. Use it! The limitation on commands helped me not to stray n pretty much point me in the right direction.
Oh, i smiled when i saw that drag n drop question…
PPP …. Leased line π
there was a little changed though. If i remember more specify questions i’ll post
thank king solo will go through all these sims that am looking at
good luck Kelvin. http://www.subnettingquestions.com if you need practice. If you need anything, ask. π
This is a great site to just get the idea of what type of questions will be asked on the exam. I took ICND1 a week ago after studying on and off for about a month and failed with a 724/1000. One thing is that I got stuck on one of the sims and couldn’t get the CLI opened. I have since been studying all week and hope to nail it tomorrow for my second attempt. The best thing about all the studying is just understanding the concept of all the material. I plan on a future in networking so I want to really understand what it all means. So far I have used CBTNuggets, Boson, CCENT by Todd Lammle and this site, along with various others on the internet. Good luck to all, and hopefully next time I post it will be with a passing score!
Anonymous good question!! Same here, how would i know if i am ready???
How would i know if i am ready?? I am stressed!!!
Followup: Passed today with 837/1000. The sims are from here, just know what they are and understand how to work them. Lots of administration of wlan questions and know security of networks well. Understand subnetting and understand how to read the show command outputs. I had the show cdp neighbors sim both times I took the test.
pass 950 , 3 labs from 9 tut , and some Questions from 9 tut , thanks for 9 tut
icdn2 preparation
thanks for 9 tut
On a Cisco switch, which protocol determines if an attached VoIP phone is from Cisco or from another vendor?
a TCP
b UDP
c RTP
d CDP
Passed ICND1 Today!!! 937/1000,
Many Thanks to The 9tut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Security Testlet,
Implementation sim1,2 & Show config SIM were there.
Thanks a lot 9 tut.
Hailie I’m guessing CDP (D) would tell you if its a Cisco Phone Attached
D. CDP
I want to take he test next week. Any recommendations?
Passed ICND1 today with 925/1000:)
My path2success: ine.com videos – Odom ICND1book – Practice labs that comes with the kit- After finishing all these steps goto 9tut.com and lead2pass dumps from examcollection.vce. practice them and review the wrong answers.
I would say all the sims and drag and drops from 9tut. In security teslet select banner for both switch and router. I got 100% on that.
couple of questions that I didnt see anywhere were
1. LED on switch is green : Fullduplex
2. Disconnect telnet session from the keyboard: Ctrl-Sht-6 then press x.
3. One WAN question was tricky where in you need to select which statements are true.(dont remember the options well)
a. 802.11 has 16 channels
b. Three standards exist 802.11a/b,802.11g,802.11x
c. 802.11b supports 5GHz
Going to ICND2 in 2 weeks!!!
CDP
I dont think so. Correct me if I am wrong though!!
You said “a. 802.11 has 16 channels and c. 802.11b supports 5GHz”
I believe that
a. 802.11 has 14 channels
c. 802.11b DOES NOT support 5GHz
Mike, You are right. I don’t rememeber the exact answer options. The options were quite tricky. All that I wanted to say is, this is just a type of question I had in the exam.
Can some one please send me latest dump for 640-822 to sulemanies@yahoo.com ? I am planning to sit for exam withing next couple of weeks.
Wohooo Passed the exam on my first try. Thanks 9tut, this site it is great and a lot of questions prepared me for the exam.
^ Congrats “CCENT baby”!!!!
Passed today, 1000/1000. Spent some time on this site as well as a looong time on Odom’s book. Nothing really new that hasn’t been discussed here, just know the stuff on this site well, get some hands on with packet tracer, and be able to subnet quickly.
Passed Friday 950/1000. Might have passed without this site, but not as high.
Had Security (2x login banner), Implementation, Show Conf, and one other not on this site.
Whew! Taking a couple of days off from studying, then on to ICND2. π
Definitely know your material before sitting this exam. If you can get your hands on the CBT Nuggets videos, and/or Todd Lammle’s CCNA/CCENT book, that would be beneficial as well. Had only one drag-and-drop concering Frame Relay. Had one simulation about dragging the appropriate routers to their respective spots and then running a show running-config to view the IP addresses. Lots of multiple choice – alot of switching questions concering MAC addresses. Passed with a 974/1000. Good luck to everyone!!!!
π
Took it today and got a 950 on my first attempt. It did a good job asking questions that tests understanding not just your ability to memorize things.
