Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience
The new ICND2 200-105 exam has come to replace the old ICND2 200-101 exam. We create the “Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience” for everyone to share their experience after taking this exam.
Note for ICND2: There are no VRRP, GLBP, NetFlow and NAT questions (and they are not technologies learned in this exam).
Please share with us your experience after taking the ICND2 200-105 exam, your materials, the way you learned, your recommendations… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…
I’m guess it’s only “protocol” –> Hello message ; the question must be mistyped
What do you guys think about the others questions?
@gareth you mean
Which protocol HSRP uses to interchange?
@Skvok Yes I think
5)Which utility can be used to troubleshoot a TCP stream? Ping, Wireshark?
13)Which cloud model is most vulnerable to the cloud?
What about those
First three questions very strange
@gareth If in question 5 there is UTILITY then it must be only wireshark.
13 question – there are only three IaaS, PaaS, SaaS in Wendel Odomo. And we can’t see the answers, only one answer oh that guy who passed exam. I think that Anonymous don’t very well remembered the questions, so it might be even more dangerous for us that these questions are not right.
Don’t really know the answer for this question: Which cloud model is most vulnerable to the cloud?
But in my opinion it is the SaaS model, because it inherits the security issues of IaaS and PaaS as it is built on top of both of them
@Skvok yup you’re right
But those one already appears once :
4)Why security of radius may be compromised? only pw is encrypted so can sniff trafic
6)What does configuring snmp host 1.2.3.4 traps md5 auth do? Configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps, configure it to receive informs, configure it to send data? configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps ?
I think the Anonymous did a great job with those questions.
It is obvious that he made some mistakes in questions, but it is no problem.
@BillyTheDump Can you help us to answers those questions?
Which utility can be used to troubleshoot a TCP stream? Ping, Wireshark?
Wireshark for sure.
4) only password is encrypted
6) configure NMS to receive traps
@gareth
6)What does configuring snmp host 1.2.3.4 traps md5 auth do? Configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps, configure it to receive informs, configure it to send data? configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps ?
The right command must be “snmp-SERVER host 1.2.3.4 traps(why is word “traps” here? It needs only for INFORMS, other way it need only for question itself) md5(here must be command V3) auth
we can get command snmp-server host 1.2.3.4 traps v3 auth “username” – and this command to configure the SNMP agent to send SNMPv3 Traps to the listed host, using the listed username
3)Two commands to debug pppoe authentication?
debug ppp negotiation
debug ppp authentication
@Skvov
full command syntax is:
snmp-server host host-addr [traps | informs] [version {1 | 2c | 3 [auth | noauth | priv]}] community-string [udp-port port] [notification-type]
So Q6 the answer is : To configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps?
@ Billy The Dump
OK, but I mean that Anon command was not right.
@gareth
Yes, to receive traps
for the Software-as-a-service I looked all over ciscos website for answers to this question… I found nothing….
I finally pulled out ol’ faithful wendell odem and it didn’t outright say DNS/DHCP is Saas but after extensively reading the differences between Iaas/Paas/Saas – I can 96% surely say that Saas is the correct answer.
anyone willing to paste the output of Reiner Finks google drive in the comments section? I’m not brave enough to try it.
I am taking ICND1 on 7th. will be in very next day for ICND2 for my input. I am following @gareth @Billy The Dump(good luck for 6!) @nixie from day first. you guys doing great team work/ input. thanks!
@bear Thank you for the comment, I’ve read couple of articles, and I am absolutely sure now that it is SaaS. @(MN) Thank you and good luck with your exam 🙂
@bear,
don’t pay attention to those posts,, they are fake
@Billy The Dump,
are you taking the exam on 2/6? If so, good luck man, you should do fine. You know your stuff
@Hdawg
Yeah, mate 2/6. thank you very much for the support!
I feel myself prepared and pretty confident, hope everything gonna be fine.

Hey, Admin,
I was the guy that found all your duplicate questions. Passed, 8xx/1000.
The EIGRP sim was on there, as was the OSPF Hotspot.
OSPF hostspot questions were all the same (it’s not a sim, but a question group).
Others were right about the sims – the EIGRP sim had different answers (though the questions were the same). ‘DO SHOW RUN is mostly what you need, though ‘SHOW IP ROUTE’ is important too.
The strategy for the sims is to go down the list of questions, and search for that given error. Use the process of elimination until you find the one that matches.
There were a lot more HSRP, GRE, and VoIP/QoS/PPPoE questions on this exam, particularly asking about exact configurations you need to type to get a desired effect. These questions usually provided a list of roughly similar commands, and you had to pick the ‘right’ one.
A grand majority of them you DO NOT HAVE. Sorry I don’t remember any give one.
I should also add that I had one of the drag/drops (asked about LSA’s, split horizon, holddown timers, etc)
@DupeFinder Thanks you for the information
So the 56q posted by Speedy are not enough to pass?
@gareth
I know nothing about Speedy, but I can say that I studied using only a majority of the material in the ICND2 list here. I used that list as of January 8th, and all told, there are about 220 questions.
I had a 50 question test, and aside from the sims, only about 10-17 of them were from here.
I think that Cisco makes incremental changes now – not blanket updates.
That is to say, the MOMENT they write new questions, they go in to any new exam immediately.
@Dupefinder , yep for sure they are doing it
Can you remember if the question on list above were in your exam?
@gareth
2 (maybe)
6
9 (this was the PPPoE question that they already have here)
10
11
20 (appears to be the same as q10)
24
32
33 (you’re right on this one)
34
35
38 (This was a choose two question, had answers about sending updates to 224.x.x.x multicasts, this was a question, but I don’t remember how it was worded, sorry!)
41
51
52 (same as 9, already exists here)
56 (same as 9 and 52, already exist here) <— this is why I call myself dupe finder
There was a a question about VoIP that had a list of binary values as well.
went like this
Q: what is the something, used to identify something
A: 11011010
B: 11100001
C: 10101101
D: 11011111
Be aware these are almost certainly NOT the correct binary values, but the question had answers like that
@DupeFinder , the VoIP question was about binary value of EF(expedited forwarding) right ?
ADDENDUM
38 asked: something like: what is true about HSRP v1 and HSRP v2
@garth
Yes, it was about the EF value
Also, 4 was on there.
@DupeFinder , can you remember the choice of the hspr question?
@gareth
Sorry, that’s all I really remember 🙁
@DupeFinder , np its already enough. Did you had QoS/Stacking question?

Does someone remember the question about QoS/HSRP/Stacking ?
Hey guys just passed today with ample points. The new questions were on there and DONT TRUST THE LABS. They still have the same concepts and typologies but the configs are different. So if you know your shit you will be fine. 60% of the questions were from 9tut but the rest you should know from your studies. 9tut deff came in clutch.
@Dismal congrats ! So you confirm that the question posted above were on your exam?
Hum are you sure cause when you type a show mac-adress table on the master it display the mac table of all switches.
According to you answer A should be wrong
Can confirm the answer to the question

A. Each switch in the stack handles the MAC table independently from the others
B. You can add or remove switches without taking the stack down.
C. Each switch in the stack can use a different IOS image

E. You can license the entire stack with a single master license
Should be B and D
Answer A in incorrect:
There would be one MAC address table, and it would reference all ports on all physical switches
source – Wendell Odem CCNA routing and switching ICND2 200-105 Official Cert Guide Page 156 key topic 6
In a switch stack, the IOS is basically creating a Virtual Switch, that represents all the ‘members’ within the stack as one. The ‘virtual switch’ is the single ‘active’ Control Plane’ which you are able to see how the Control Plan is configured through the commands that you submit through the Management Plane through the Console, VTY lines .
That can be proved by allowing you to configure a ‘single’ IP Address to manage the entire switch stack as one and being able to see all expects of the switch stack even all of the MAC Addresses that are learnt on each of the switchports within the stack per-PVID and the Routing Table, which are also stored in the Data Plane.
The MAC Table is the ‘Logical’ table that is created each time a switch is loaded and that applies to the ‘virtual switch’ in a switch stack too. On each switch within the stack there is a CAM Table created for each VLAN that you have created. The ‘logical’ MAC Address Table is built by looking at the individual CAM Tables on each member within the switch stack… this happens on switches that are not part of a switch stack too.
You can prove this on your own, by creating a switch stack and letting is come up and then remove one of the member directly from the stack and see what happens… the switch will notice that there is a down switch… a division within the switch stack and start trying to see if the current Master will stay the current master… the ‘active’ Control Plane… the virtual switch, by checking the “Priority” of each switch within the stack.
Right here is what makes answer for (B) wrong. The statement… “You can add or remove switches WITHOUT taking down the stack.” The keyword is… “WITHOUT taking DOWN the stack”. Yes its correct that you can remove a switch without the switch going down, that that’s not the issue unless it’s the Master member. The thing that makes the answer (B) wrong… is when you go to ADD back a switch member to the switch stack.
Now, depending on the “Priority” of the switch member, will dictate what will happen. If the switch member that you are adding to the switch stack has a Higher Priority value, then that switch member will be elected as the Master switch right away and the other member in the stack will need to be reconfigured for the new ‘active’ Control Plane.
So, answer (B) is wrong… as the switch stack does in fact go down by ADDING a switch member that has a Higher Priority value, as in this situation, the switch stack members other than the Maser, go’s DOWN as they need to be reconfigured for the new Master switch… the new Control Plane… virtual switch. You can try this out for yourself, by adding in a switch member that has a Higher Priority value to your active switch stack.
REMEMBER, that the current Master switch member was overridden due to the new switch member being added to the stack that has a Higher Priority value and ALL of the switch members have to be reconfigured for the new ‘Active’ Control Plane.
In know this is correct from my own experiences… I’m by no means an export on this.
“This potion cannot be penetrated by hand, Vanished, parted, scooped up, or siphoned away, nor can it be Transfigured, Charmed, or otherwise made to change its nature. I can only conclude this potion is supposed to be drunk.”
In the middle of the exam I was absolutely sure I would fail, a hundred percent sure. Lots of questions were weird, like when the answers don’t make any sense to you. I don’t know if they were test questions or not. I guess that makes the test more difficult, but i just hate how it is done. I just wanted to finish this torture as soon as possible, mechanically answering the question after question.
I thought I would get around 700-750 points as a maximum, and was really shocked when I got 9xx (!) at the end. I PASSED! Probably I was super lucky guessing the answers and was saved by the weighted model, because I scored 100% routing and 100% in switching and really around 50% in other topics.
About the exam. As everyone: EIGRP the same, with different answers. OSPF Hotspot. 1 DND (split horizon, route poisoning..)
I’ve got only 15 to 20 questions exactly as the are described here (including questions from this Shared Section). Lots of questions were similar with provided here, but they were reworded and lots of them now have a with different answers. (I don’t know, may be Cisco is constantly changing questions now, or they have just added lots of new staff).
My advice: pay close attention to this topics: SNMP/BGP/HSRP/Stacking/SPAN. Just read them carefully, don’t memorise the answers, this will really help and will not take much time.
Thank you very much for the support guys, best of luck!
@BillyTheDump , can you share the question u had ?
If you can remember what were the SNMP/HSRP question ? Are they those posted above?
@BillyTheDUmp Congrats !!
Did you have those :

@alpha
the question for HSRP was:
which command will you enter on the router to assure it will become an active router if the current active router fails? four answers with very similar commands that included priority/preemption
the second one was about HSRPv1/HSRPv2 differences (multicast addresses / supported groups)
for SNMP: default read-write mode of SNMP (private)
the question about BGP states (idle, active, etc)
benefits of switch stacking with two correct answers, something like: it will provide a common management interface, etc
local SPAN question with two answers: it will doubles the traffic in the switch, etc
@gareth
thank you
none of these questions were in my test
@Billy
For HSRP , the question aksed about mcast 224.0.0.2 and .102 and 255 group /4096 group right ?
Default snmp read-write = private
What was the bgp state question ?
Switch stacking : Was it , 1vlan interface as the answer ?
What did you answer for span?
Which two options describe benefits of aggregated chassis technoglogy :
A. It reduces management overhead
B. It requires only 1 ip address per vlan
@alpha
HSRP – yes, this one
read-write = private
Which states does the router pass while establishing BGP connection, something like this.
Switch stacking – no, different one, have never seen this before
for SPAN there were options like – doubles traffic in the switch/doubles load on the supervisor engine, I don’t remember what a guessed
Ok thanks ! Do you remember the QoS questions?
@alpha something about QoS markings with answers DSCP, IPP, etc
In which byte of an IP packet can traffic be marked ?
A. the QoS byte
B. the CoS byte
C. the ToS byte
D. the DSCP byte
This one ?
@alpha no, different, and multiple choice
Hum ok , what did you answer ?
In which byte of an IP packet can traffic be marked ?
A. the QoS byte
B. the CoS byte
C. the ToS byte
D. the DSCP byte
This one ?
Answer = C
The “Type of Service” (ToS) is a 1-byte field inside of the IP Packet, where you define the IP Precedence (CS) and Differentiated Service Code Point (DSCP)… Assured Forwarding (AF) bits.
I think the answer for SPAN is : doubles trafic
@Billy The Dump,
Congrats man!!!! I told you that you were going to pass with no problem. Welcome to the club, hahaha!! You said you had DND with spit horizon, route poisoning and did you also have triggered update? I forgot the others
@ Billy The Dump,
Congrats!!!Well done!!!
@gareth
yes, probably
@Hdawg Thank you, mate! :). Yeah, the same as you had, I think.
@gsp Thank you, man, best of luck 🙂
Books Used : Tod Lammles ,Odoms , Video Material – CBT Nuggets, 2 routers ,Two switches- Time consumed :4 months . Then i wrote the exam- but here are the important notes : A. Most of the questions used by the dumps -in some cases 403 questions +answers are not in the real exam -I saw less than 8 . So you can conclude that Cisco has changed the exam -those dumps are irrelevant except the following point B. Simlets – i got 2 – ospf one and Eigrp – it is important to note that if you want to pass the EIGRP simlet answers have been changed,they are not the ones as given in the examples on this site. So do a sh -run , sometimes do an ip route to check the path But- i have to stress this : The instruction states that troubleshoot and resolve . in the exam you cannot resolve anything you found wrong. Cisco disabled the (config ter command) ,so you can’t go beyond the( enable command _and (sh run commands). I was frustrated till i moved on to the next question. The only person who has the latest questions is (Billy the dump) .I had the same feeling . somewhere before the exam as they give you the instructions ,Cisco tells you that some questions are BETA and they will not count towards your score-so i had that feeling when i saw first 3 or 4 but 20 ??? 36??? questions I have never seen . So my attitude was Let me use the info I had studied and practiced . So I did and I passed !!!
@Speedy did you have the questions posted above ?
The 56q you posted earlier
@Speedy Congrats !!
Can you share the questions u had ?
Hello Everyone
Can guys who took the exam Can tell us more about the questions u had?
@Nixie I did not take my exam yet !!! I am trying to collect the new questions before I take my exam
I will add these new questions to my list and remove the duplicates
Oh ok I Thought you was speedy3
CAN you publish your list of questions ?
@ Nixie Hi kindly look at Gareth’s set of questions and also Speedy’s latest questions -they are spot on and also make sure you do the 2 simlets – Ospf and the EIGRP (note that config ter is disabled) and I can tell you that you will be done – Again please don’t rush and finish earlier – you will be investigated so go normally but finish earlier say with 10 minutes left on the clock you will be fine .
Ok speedy_3 I will take that in consideration. The question posted by speedy and gareth are the same that u had during your exam?
@Speedy You can add the following :
What does configuring snmp host 1.2.3.4 traps md5 auth do? Configure 1.2.3.4 to receive traps
Which utility can be used to troubleshoot a TCP stream? Wireshark?
Why security of radius may be compromised? only pw is encrypted
Which cloud model is most vulnerable to the cloud? SaaS
Two commands to debug pppoe authentication? debug ppp negotiation
debug ppp authentication
What is the default read-write-all mode of SNMP community string?
A. Public
B. Private
C. Cisco
D. Secret “Correct”
@Gareth, @Nixie and @Speed
When is your test?
I take it the 26th of February
In for IC-2.. IC-1 clear with 95+!
@Billy The Dump
have you took your exam yet,? how did it go..
Look at the question where you have 4 switches and you have to configure rstp port roles. You have to choose 3 .That question appeared in my exam .So it might appear to you. I am saying this cos I didn’t see in Gareth’s questions given here earlier.So watch out !!
Ok thanks speedy_3
What about the question posted by Speeed, did you got them?
Can anyone tell me wht is the answer for Which statement about DTP is true?
a. native vlan
b. vlan 1
I still don’t get it. In some information there is native, in other is vlan 1
@skvok
default is vlan1
Cisco documentation states dtp works on native vlan, even if vlan 1 is not native vlan
Hi, in my exam -wrt Speedy -Q 48 was not there ,Q 59 was not there, I noted the following:
