Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience

September 16th, 2016 in ICND2 200-105 Go to comments

The new ICND2 200-105 exam has come to replace the old ICND2 200-101 exam. We create the “Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience” for everyone to share their experience after taking this exam.

Note for ICND2: There are no VRRP, GLBP, NetFlow and NAT questions (and they are not technologies learned in this exam).

Please share with us your experience after taking the ICND2 200-105 exam, your materials, the way you learned, your recommendations… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

You can pass the exam but if you don’t have the knowledge then you will fail in your career. Be smart and study hard and learn the stuff, a paper CCNA won’t help you to become a real Network Engineer. When they the times comes you will need to fix and troubleshoot, there is no dumps or answers for that! Good luck everyone! This site rocks and helps a lot to validate and practice what you know.

@ Tiger here is a great little Cisco workbook I have been using on my CCNA journey. Hope this helps. https://www.freeccnaworkbook.com/workbooks/ccna

I think that it is unfair that the exam is still the same amount of time with more drag and drops and more Simulations. I almost ran out of time 34 Questions left 30 minutes left in Exam I just flew through the exam and of course, I failed. We need more time for all these extra drag and drops!! Cisco should take into consideration the extra amount of time needed for the extra work involved. I’m sure others would agree to this.

    Just my thought on this!!!

    Hi there,

I have done ICND 2 exam and i passed thanks 9tut.

Thinks to know….. There are many new questions, i was very struggling to pass the exam. Around 50% of questions are from here, specially from ICND2v3 questions. Labs are exactly the same, however the questions may be differ. So, you should study very good all question from this website and also study hard as there are new questions.

    Good luck.

Hi, i recently passed my exam and with a very low score, 9tut alone its not going to help you pass,,i see all these people trying to sell their info,,,but every time you go in for a test, the questions are going to be different. It took me multiple attempts to pass,,,but i didn’t give up, keep studying from every resource possible.
and all those links that advertise in here,,Im not going to say they are fake and you can actually use them to study,,,,but none of those questions are in the real exam..
    Good luck to everybody

Hi! I just pass my CCNA exam yesterday with a 940/1000. I have to say that my dump(chinese one) didn’t help me at all, there were like 35 new question, 3 drags & drops and six laboratories. My advice is to study all the contents of the course instead of dumps.

    Good luck!

Passed this morning. Sims were on test. Questions about VLAN, port status, Etherchannel (PaGP), EIGRP, and a few question about SDN. Had drag and drop about ACLs (Named vs Numbered)

  26. KB
    February 20th, 2019

    Passed today. upper mid 800s.

The test is much harder than 3 years ago. Last time I scored in the lower mid 900s and finished the test in around 45 – 50 minutes.

Review the questions, but stop and research the concepts. If you run into something new, go to the cisco website or Youtube and actually learn the material. Also keep in mind there are several wrong answers floating around for some of the questions on this site. Great time to use google to fact check and add some knowledge to your arsenal. My recommendation is to use this site for the explanations. They are well written, and will teach you the process, rather than memorizing steps.

The point of the test isn’t to find a dump and cheat your way through. Because you may fail the test anyway, and for sure will fail on the job site. Do it the honest way, and feel like you have accomplished something meaningful.

Good Luck to everyone! I’m rooting for all of you to pass!

Q: how would you fix connectivity issue between R1 and R2?
    Configurations:

    R1: int s0/0
    ip add x.x.1.1 255.255.255.0

    router bgp 100

    router bgp 100
    network x.x.0.0
    neighbor x.x.1.1 remote-as 100

1- add the network mask /24 to the network command
2- configure the serial interface with no shutdown
3- replace the router bgp 100 command on R2 with router bgp 200
    4- something…

Q: R1 and R2 are connected via Gigaethernet0/0, R1 loses connectivity to R2, what will be your first step of troubleshooting?
1- make sure the encapsulation on R1 and R2 is set to HDLC

Hello guys, today I failed the exam… 🙁

I reviewed the dumps from 9tut and I was able to find around five questions that was on my test. (5 questions from 55 is not good at all).

Labs Simulators ARE NOT THE SAME, they have the same environment but different interfaces / path / IP’s etc…

I don’t know if we can trust any dump from ICND2, I regret taking two exams, it means more specific questions and more gaps to fail on ICND2, it is definitely harder then taking only one exam…

    good luck everybody.

I passed the test for icnd2 on 30th March. My God! the staff at test center as in title were so disrespectful and insulting, it surely appeared that they were conspiring for me to fail.
    But Alhamdulillah, I passed.
Regards 9tut : Wonderful notes. New questions in premium help to get prepared. Understanding concepts using YouTube aparts 9tut is vital. Simulators here are matching as in exam.

    My exam :
Simulators matching. Most of the questions were new, but I used the technique of ruling out wrong answers which helped.
    My advice:
Use 9tut and others as reference material to understand concepts.Prepare for Sims accurately.I got GRE,EIGRP sims similar to 9tut. Hotspots were new or maybe I hadn’t come across before.
    Final advice:
    Prepare well with the concepts.
Dumps to be used only to get u prepared and not to get overconfident.
Believe in urself and Trust God to guide you during the exam.
My faith in Allah only increased after I cleared it with determination.

Which type does a port become when it receives the best BPDU on a bridge?

    A. The backup port
    B. The alternate port
    C. The root port <— IS CORRECT
    D. The designated port

    Explanation at : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/lan-switching/spanning-tree-protocol/24062-146.html
    says: "Root Port Roles

The port that receives the best BPDU on a bridge is the root port. This is the port that is the closest to the root bridge in terms of path cost. The STA elects a single root bridge in the whole bridged network (per-VLAN). The root bridge sends BPDUs that are more useful than the ones any other bridge sends. The root bridge is the only bridge in the network that does not have a root port. All other bridges receive BPDUs on at least one port."

    Q. What feature prevents a rogue switch assuming a root bridge in the lan it is connected to.
    VTP
    DTP
    BPDU Filter
    Root guard.

The answer is “Root Guard” as explained below:

The root guard feature provides a wdaway to enforce the root bridge placement in the network.
something like to guarantee that switch is the root bridge, other switches cannot be assigned as the root bridge.
    to my understanding…

took icn2 exam earlier this week and passed. these are type of questions i had:

what stops a pc from receiving an IP address from a DHCP server?

    -VTP
    -STP
    -DTP
    -802.1Q

whats the administrative distance for EIGRP?
    -110
    -120
    -90

whats happens if both ends of a link are set to Dynamic Auto mode?

    – trunks will form
    -trunks will not form
    – will become access port

had ACL question, a diagram. asked to place a standard ACL on the topology. you want to allow PC A to access PC C, but you want to stop PC B from accessing PC. Where do you place it?
i followed rule of placing standard ACL as close as possible to destination.

questions about FHRP/HSRP config. which modes are valid in LACP and PAGP

had crazy question about AAA/TACACS+ It showed long page of configuration, and asked what will outcome of this be? will it create local user account, or will be set to use Radius server?

had 3 drag and drops. one about difference between PAGP and LACP. other one about order in which user receives cloud/virtualized service. other one asked to match EIGRP K values:

    K1 = Bandwidth
    k2 = Load
    k3 = Delay
    k4 = Reliability
    k5 = MTU

    had IPSLA/ACL Path questions
    also about Voice Vlan

router on stick questions – subinterfaces and configuring ip’s on it

there was question from dump, showing 3 routers, and said which way will data travel to get to 10.0.0.1 network? there was equal cost load balancing. answer same as in dump. R3-R1 and R3-R2-21

question about ipv6/ipv4 and how router id is set up. differences

questions about BGP config, what are requirements for external BGP to be set up etc

which SNP version offered use of user class?
    – snmp v2
    -snmp v3

2 sims – GRE multilink. different answers and configurations. also EIGRP troubleshooting sim. looks like answers were same.

i think i focused heavily on the sims/ packet tracer lab practice, so struggled more with the multi-choice questions.

Passed ICND2 yesterday. Truly appreciate this community’s (especially the comments section) helpful discourse. Exam was moderate, not extremely difficult if you know your stuff. I had a decent # of drag n drops: BPDU options/ACL options/External and Internal protocols.
Q’s referenced by GeorgeTF, Speedy, Gareth (from way back on this page) did show up.
Good luck to everyone, will come thru w more q’s if i can. But remember these topics: APIC-EM, Etherchannels, PPPoE, VLAN trunking.
Sims were OSPF and EIGRP as seen here but w different configs

HSRPv1 uses the virtual MAC address range 0000.0C07.AC00 to 0000.0C07.ACFF, where the last two hexadecimal digits indicate the HSRP group number. HSRPv2 uses the MAC address range from 0000.0C9F.F000 to 0000.0C9F.FFFF for IPv4

    Explanation
    Explanation/Reference:
    Explanation:
Ping may be used to find out whether the local machines are connected to the network or whether a remote
site is reachable. This tool is a common network tool for determining the network connectivity which uses
ICMP protocol instead of TCP/IP and UDP/IP. This protocol is usually associated with the network
management tools which provide network information to network administrators, such as ping and traceroute
(the later also uses the UDP/IP protocol). ICMP is quite different from the TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols. No
source and destination ports are included in its packets. Therefore, usual packet-filtering rules for TCP/IP and
UDP/wdIP are not applicable. Fortunately, a special “signature” known as the packet’s Message type is included
for denoting the purposes of the ICMP packet. Most commonly used message types are namely, 0, 3, 4, 5, 8,
11, and 12 which represent echo reply, destination unreachable, source quench, redirect, echo request, time
    exceeded, and parameter problem respectively

    Today I passed the ICND2 with 902/1000.
Although last September I passed ICND1 only with preparation from this site, with ICND2 is not the same. I had to dig a lot and understand in depth the theory. In general you shall not pass only by remembering questions. For Labs the topology was identical with what you can find in 9tut, the questions are different, but the same level of difficulty. Good luck.

I am going to be taking the exam in a few weeks and was hoping this site would be a bit more current. This is for re certification (I passed CCNP Tshoot 3 years ago for my last recert), but I currently (for the last few years) don’t work as a network admin so I am not quite so up to speed on any of this. I just want to keep my certs since I’d like to go back to this type of work at some point.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much time. I’ve looked around for current VCEs but am not having any luck. If anyone has an actual useful VCE I would be very much appreciative!
