    Passed ICND2 the first try at mid-900 range. You will find most of questions from P4S, Matty’s and etc. vtp sim, ospf, frame-relay are all there. There are a few new questions I never encountered in the past. My advice is: practice sim using packet tracer a couple of times; go thru the questions like p4s (you should be able to find it here) a couple of times with complete understanding. By doing so, you will pass the exam no matter what kind of new questions you are going to get. Good luck to you all.

    @TooMuch, no problem man.

    Also I saw problem with the answer of question#5 page3 of Honabussa’s p4s. no answer for 9host! 192.168.45.197/28 is overlapping with /26 network that is certainly very wrong. however we could not use 192.1168.45.159/27 either because this ip is broadcast and left with no valid answer.

    Same problem of above in the question #64 page 11 of P4S uploaded. if we use 192.168.186.173/26 we are definitely overlapping with 192.168.186.152/28 that is as mentioned by axiz completely wrong.. the only other solution left is not enough to accommodate 14hosts. Any idea guys?

    CONGRATS TO ALL NEW CCNA’ers, BUT ‘SUPER-DUPER’ CONGRATS TO HONABUSA! You worked hard to achieve your goal…THAT SHOWS TRUE CHARACTER MY FRIEND! CONGRATS!!!
    Thanks to all on this forum for sharing. And of course thanks to 9TUT and his crew for making it all happen! CUDOS!!!!!!!!
    I’ve passed my CCNA Security with 1000/1000 (THANK YOU SECURITYTUT.COM).
    I’m just starting my studies for my CCVP(THANK YOU VOICETUT.COM). I’m going the CVoice 642-436 route first, to gain my CCNA Voice Cert – not the CCNA Voice 640-460 route -, because 640-460 DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR CCVP CERT, BUT IT WILL GIVE YOU YOUR CCNA VOICE CERT…CRAZY I THINK, BUT HEY-HO!!!!! Then I will concentrate my study on the final 4 exams for my full CCVP cert. Unfortunately, I will have to turn to Actual Test to prepare for the 4 exams. I know the ‘TUT-KINGDOM’ are working hard to post the necessary materials to pass the full CCVP, but to date it’s in its infancy, with only ‘share your experience’ links. I SOOO WISH I COULD HELP THE TUT’ERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE HELPED SOOOOO MANY PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR PERSONAL GOALS…BUT IT’S DONATIONS ONLY I SUPPOSE!
    Inspiration to all!!!!…If I can get a few Cisco certs…ANYBODY CAN!!!!! LOL

    Can you please let me know which one is the answer?

    Just passed ICND1…by the skin of my teeth…814…current dump by Ariel help a lot…also p4s dump…understanding of subnetting is a must…if you are shaky about subnetting…just donate money to salvation army..

    The labs on this site help out greatly!!! Greatly! Know basic show commands…ie…show cdp neighbors, show running-config, show ip interface brief, etc… To me 25% of test was wayyyy easy… 20% of test was some what tricky 5% hard……..

    I regret reading the ICND1 book over and over and not getting hands on…via router, 9tut labs or Sims…..Just last minute regret

    ————————–

    Number 3 should be a /27 mask to provide max of 30 hosts

    I thinj that the other options are OK

    1.) 192.168.186.3/26
    2.) 192.168.186.29/30
    3.) We should have an answer like this 192.168.186.173/30 – To be able to provide 30 hosts in order to accommodate 26
    4.) 192.168.186.152/28

    Perhaps some the new CCNA’s can bring some light to this question?

    @HONABUSA/@Alabama@Tornado,@etc.- Can you please help – Was this one of the question in your exam?

    Thank you

    @messi
    You are ‘ALMOST’ spot on my friend. But the problem is that the question is screwed-up, BUT WILL BE ON THE TEST! Here’s what the answers should be and why:
    1) Needs 118 Hosts…/25 provides for 126 Hosts, so: 192.168.186.3/25 is correct.
    2) Serial S0/0 is a Point-to-point link, provides for 2 Hosts…/30, so: 192.168.186.129/30 is correct. ALSO, DON’T LET THE COMMENT ABOUT ‘SUBNET ZERO IS IN USE’ THROW YOU. The other /30 option (192.168.186.128/30) IS THE SUBNET AND CANNOT BE USED HERE! Oh crap, you can’t even see that part of the question on PS4!!!!! Yikes!!!
    3) THIS IS THE PROBLEM CHILD: Needs 26 Hosts…/27 provides for 30 Hosts, so THE ANSWER SHOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE: 192.168.186.173/27………
    4) Needs 14 Hosts…/28 provides for exactly 14 Hosts, so: 192.168.186.152/28 is correct.
    Hope this helps…….

    I’m studying for CCVP at current, but I do check this site from time to time, and I’m more than willing to help anyone out, if I can…no probs!
    TO BE HONEST FOLKS, I don’t like all of the mistakes PS4 has on their site. I know for sure Actual Test is a much better doc to learn from. I know I linked the latest version of AT back on page 8 of this forum…maybe there’s another link elsewhere as well. I’m sure its still valid. JUST MY TAKE ON IT!!!!! Good Luck to all CCNA study’ers!!!!!!!
    Back to CCVP study for me…..Wooo-Hooooo!!!!!!

    @Alabama

    Thanks dude. That is what I thouht, from the available answers, #3 is correct. It just provides more address space than needed for the number of hosts. One way to confirm is that none of the other IP/SM combinations would’ve contained a .173 host.

    You said the question was part of your exam I guess the answer there was /27? I have seen that other people are saying that they haven’t changed the IP on the exam.

    How about q149 page. 81 P4S? I think the answers are correct but I am just getting paranoic…Was that one also in your exam?

    Thanks again for your help.

  16. Alabama
    December 13th, 2010

    @ Messi

    Yea, q149 P4S is the exact same question ‘type’ as before. They (CISCO) will change IP addresses and Company names on the EXAM scenario, but if CCNA’ers understand the concept, and how CISCO wants you to understand Subnetting (based on the necessary number of hosts required), then these questions are really, really easy. Here’s the answer to q149:

    1) Needs 27 Hosts…/27 provides for 30 Hosts, so: 192.168.9.187/27 is correct.
    2) Needs 13 Hosts…/28 provides for 14 Hosts, so: 192.168.9.134/28 is correct.
    3) Needs 4 Hosts…/29 provides for 6 Hosts, so: 192.168.9.148/29 is correct.
    4) S0/0 is point-to-point…2 Hosts…/30 provides for exactly 2 Hosts, so: 192.168.9.157/30 is correct. ON THE SERIAL LINKS (/30), ALSWAYS CHOOSE THE ‘ODD’ OCTET OF THE CHOCIES BECAUSE THE ‘EVEN’ ONE WILL BE THE SUBNET (192.168.9.156 is the subnet)!!!!!!
    Don’t panic my friend, seems you have the correct concept down…you will be fine. Just study the material until you dream about it, THEN YOU WILL BE READY TO WRITE YOUR EXAM!!!!!
    GOOD LUCK!!!!!
    Hope this helps…….

    Hello guys,

    I passed today with 892/1000. Be carefull, I found some new questions maybe 10 in 40. One of them related with frame relay point to point (were do you apply that), STP with 4 sw in a full mesh topology + 1 hub and 1 printer connected to the hub (question was what is the sw with the designated role to the printer. 1 drag and drog with diferences between rip v1 and eigrp. One frame relay question about nbma. 2 different questions about nat overlad (not dynamic with a pool).
    Thats all that I can remember right now.

    Good luck. Next ccda 🙂

    @TooMuch
    Congrats on you exam and thanks for the advise.
    Are you sure that question about rip vs eigrp not referring instead to rip vs. ospf?
    rip = sends frequents updates, routing loops susceptible for loops…
    ospf = more memory and CPU, uses event-triggered updates ….
    Thanks

    I am finally looking at the SIMLETS. I have seen everyone talking about vtp ospf and frame relay.

    I have checked Matty’s document. At the the final pages

    -I have seen a SIMLET with a Central Router named Dubai, Branch Offices and a Multinational Core with a bunch of Routers. .> Which one is this one?

    -How about the other two left? Can someone PLEASE point me out to the SIMLETS either on Honabusa’s P4S or Matty’s document?

    THANK YOU!

    Hi All!

    I just took today the ICND2 and I passed it!! WOW! but what hard job! first of all, thanks to all of you for your help and sharing of info..and of course to 9tut!!
    it was let’s say an hard job for me, the matter is that only 40-50% of the Q were in my case in the braindumps seen until today..all the other Q were completely new for me and some of them pretty complicated..but do not be despondent!In fact, on the other hand, the good news is that simlets and sims are similar to the one of Matty’s Doc even if(be careful) completely different in the configuration options!So it is high advisable the understanding of what you are doing!
    My only suggestion is, please, use braindumps but do not limitate to them.. otherwise it is really hard to overcome ICND2.

    THANK YOU ALL!

    December 15th, 2010

    @axiz – Congratulations!

    Can you please let us know a little bit more about the exam. Was P4S and Matty’s doc still valid? How many questions did you get from them? Same SIMLETS? Have you found the same IP’s and diagrams on the exam that the ones at P4S and Matty’s doc? Are there any new questions? Is there anything else that you can share with us?

    Thanks in advance for you help!

  41. Diggi
    December 15th, 2010

    I passed as well.

    The Honabussas P4S document and the Matty document are still very much valid although like TuT and many others have stated, you should learn the concepts not just memorize the questions. IP addresses can and do change from dumps to test.

    I saw 3 or so questions that was not in Honabussa or Matty documents, but was in Test Inside 17.14.

    Also saw 2 or 3 that I don’t recall ever seeing.

    Got the same Sims as everyone else. New VTP, New OSPF, and Frame Relay (Remember to check the top of running config for password.)

    Saw a the new ACL drag and drop. It asked what traffic would be prevented or allowed. (2 allow and 3 prevent)

    It was kind of easy. Two of the answers had IPs and eq ports that where outside the access list wild card mask and eq number that was given, so they were fairly easy to weed out.

    Time to get hammered. Thanks TUT, Honabussa, Matty, and everyone else for sharing.

    Good Luck Everyone.

  42. axiz
    December 16th, 2010

    @xavi, as mentioned by Diggi I guess we have the same set of questions. Matty’s doc and Honabussa. Sims still the same as mentioned need not to worry at all. I believed that Matty’s doc is enough for you to pass the exam. With Honabussa’s p4s of course that is valid but be careful with some questions where it was answered wrong like the IPv6 question that was discussed from above. In p4s the answer was B and C but true answer is A and D. Also got the full meshed switch with a printer attached. In p4s the answer was Switch1 but real answer is Switch3. so study with caution not just memorize the answers from dumps and if you have doubts better ask it in this thread and everybody is willing to answer the best as we could. remember that two or more brains is better than one. so cheers everyone! need a vacation ahead.

  43. Messi
    December 16th, 2010

    @axiz – Thanks for your suggestions.

    Can you please tell me more about this questions (pag/Qnumber in honabusa’s P4S will be great). I have checked P4S but I haven’t been able to identify them

    1.) The IPv6 question that was discussed from above.
    2.) Also got the full meshed switch with a printer attached

    Finally I have attached the following document with what I think are the SIMLETS that everyone is talking.

    Could somebody PLEASE take a look and let me know if this is the right stuff?

    http://www.4shared.com/document/thhdxOp_/SIMLETS.html

    Thank you everyone in advance.

    1.) FRAME RELAY

    I have seen the following comment “Beware FR simlet – Always look username password in show run……” Could someone point me out where do we have to run this?

    2.) VTP sim

    3.) OSPF sim

  53. Diggi
    December 16th, 2010

    @Tob,

    I think axiz was talking about the RSTP question above being wrong, not IPv6 question. Honabussa has the correct question and answer above.

    The full mesh question axis speaks of is Question 14 on the P4S document.

    The Answer is switch 3 not Switch 1 like the answer shows. (Switch 1 is just the root bridge, but the question asks which switch is the designated switch for the printers. Since Switch 3 and Switch 4 are the only ones that have links to the printers it cannot be Switch 1.

    The answer is Switch 3 because it has the lowest Mac Address (The priority values for Switch 3 and 4 are the same)

  54. Diggi

    Thanks to everyone here that has submitted any info

    P4S by honabusa 272questions
    Matty’s Doc

    the P4S by honabusa is VERY valid, i only had 4 questions that I didnt see by going through the whole pdf
    Also ran through Matty’s doc twice before i left for the test.

    the sims were VTP, OSPF, and FR all had changed ips and DLCIs

    Know the concepts that are being asked when you go through the P4S and you’ll will be golden!!

    Goodluck to everyone scheduled to take the test and again Thanks to everyone who has posted info

    Hi Passed ICND2 today with 912
    Honabusa and Matty’s Document very much Valid, Thanks to both of them.

    In VTP sim Question SW1 had IP 192.168.92.130 255.255.255.224 on Vlan 1 and default gateway IP 192.168.92.129

    It asked me to configure first available IP from the used subnet as management IP on SW2.

    But that IP was already used as default gateway.
    I was totally confused on that Question, does anyone came acrossed same thing.
    please share.

  63. Johnny
    December 21st, 2010

    Took the ICDN2 test tonight. The dumps are good, but they won’t help you that much. The sims are nothing like matty’s doc, or honabusa doc. The ones I had were a combo of the VTP sim, and the NAT sim. Also a sim with ACL, and Nat where to apply which type to which acl.

    I got a 811, so i get to study more than try again.
    Good luck to everyone out there, and use those documents provided to study, but the lesson I’ve learned is you need to know the fundamentals to pass this test.

    @ anoy

    The sim was a mixed of the nat sim, and the vtp sim. You had to configure certain ip interfaces serial/fa interfaces, as well as copy certain VTP information (domain, mode). You had to make sure prune worked as well. It’s nothing like i’ve seen, it was possible, but hard.

    which dumps you studied?

    also, were all the questions from the dump except sims? did you get same ospf and frame relay hotspot as other people mentioned previously?

    Johnny your causing a huge problem for me ….your review chances everything for me …
    This throws out everything out of the window…for me. I might even cancel my exam…
    for now can we get more reviews to confirm Johnny`s finding…

    I agree with s.a.ciscoguy – I am going to take my test on Wednesday and am afraid of wasting my time studying the two dumps if they don’t help according to Johnny. Can anyone else confirm that they are valid or not? Thanks in advance.

    I went through CBT Nuggets and have been doing labs but I don’t feel 100% confident I will pass..

    u r right but dont you think i will learn more if explanation is there instead of just memorizing questions and answers.
    any way i appreciate your efforts and thanks for sharing.

    Guys, do Labs , look at dumps AND read and understand the concepts, they will bed in eventually. I passed ICND2 but the dumps were only a small part of being ready. Its a jigsaw and you need to know what picture the pieces make.
    Also the Cisco quick ref sheet app on my iphone helped a lot.

  73. Johnny
    December 21st, 2010

    @ s.a.ciscoguy/anoy

    I didn’t get either hotspot. I got a drag and drop similar to the one on the ps4 document. Same thing it contained hold down timer, poision reverse, lsa, etc. But it asked for different things.

    I got a debug that was similar to the one of the frame relay hotsport, but mine was debug rip version 2, and reading where the routes came from, and how they would be forwarded out.

    I had alot of questions on both NAT, and ACL. The sim I had was to build 5 acl, and apply them to 2 interfaces, and 3 line interfaces. Plus test from a workstation/router. It was rather difficult, and I truly didn’t expect something like that from all the dumps going around.

    I’m going to study harder, i did ok on the test.. just know I need to polish up on a few things that the dumps didn’t focus on, but I saw

    Sounds like sims have changed, i sat on the 9th and they were VTP,OSPF and FRAME sims/simlets.

    ACL are easy with practise but i am glad i didnt get that sim!

    December 21st, 2010

    I don’t think that only sims would change and other questions would remain same. Johnny looks fishy to me. Don’t worry guys. Go ahead and take the test. Don’t be afraid.

    December 21st, 2010

    @ alan

    You can call me a liar if you wish, but this is my experience. I had some questions from the dumps. Lots of the vlan, vtp, port security, and verify/troubleshooting WAN links were on the test. I’d say about 50% of the stuff was stuff on the dumps, 50% was new and never seen before. Luckily I knew most of the material, and that’s why i almost passed…

  78. Diggi
    December 21st, 2010

    I believe the drag and drop that Johnny is referring to is also in the P4S document (Near the bottom). LSA has been removed and replaced with Defining a Maximum, and Triggered Updates.

    I may have seen the debug question Johnny is talking about… The debug showed the interface, IP, and hop count metrics. I believe the correct answer had the correct hop count, the other answers had different hop counts however the IP and interface was correct.

    Does that sound correct Johnny?

  79. Alan
    December 21st, 2010

    @Johnny

    you mentioned above that dumps are good and suddenly now you say that 50% of the stuff was new. How come?

    @All

    Don’t worry guys. Go ahead and take the exam. Don’t delay your exam just because one person scares you. If you wait longer, the exam questions might actually change and we’ll have to wait for another dump. The earlier the better.

    i am preparing for icnd2 also. what i will advise is do all the practicals with cbt nuggets and try out different scenarios. you must not depend on dumps for sims/scenarios. mcq’s i think dumps are not bad.(i took 802 and got 816(failed from 9 marks).
    dumps are bad like junk food but you cant avoid them
    Thanks every one for sharing

    I just took the test and everything remains the same. Unfortunately for me I didn’t pass it but I wasn’t 100% confident.

    I got the SIMS that @Xavi posted I am not sure if these were the ones that everyone was getting in the exam.

    http://www.4shared.com/document/thhdxOp_/SIMLETS.html

    Could someone please help me to understand the VTP (number 2 in the document above)

    In the answer says:

    1.) You find out default gatewat from SW1 and assign to SW2.

    How do you find this information?

    2.) Work out the first valid IP of the subnet by working out the MASK and IP that was provided by configuration on SW1.

    How do you get this done?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Below is the link to the new vtp sim (Packet Tracer), ospf simlet, and matty document. The vtp folder has a text file that walks you through the setup of the vtp sim.

    @Iniesta

    I am sorry that you couldn’t pass. I hope you’ll make it next time. Regarding your questions,

    1. You need to go to SW1 and run “show run” command. It will show Default Gateway of SW1. To copy this DG to SW2, go to SW2 -> conf t -> ip default-gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    2. To figure out first valid IP address, you have to calculate Network address from the ip address/subnet mask you find in “show run” command output.

    The first ip address (Next to) Network address is your first valid IP address.

    If the first address is taken by any device in the topology, use the second one.

    Hope this helps.

    Which dumps did you study by the way?

  86. Iniesta
    December 21st, 2010

    @Diggi – Thank you very much for the information. These are the same simulations but I didn’t have the full explanation about the VTP one.

    @James – I studied from P4S (Honabusa) and Matty’s.

    I am working in a document with all the questions I had in the test that I think I answered wrong.

    I don’t memorize dumps so I guess that I probably answer them wrong because I couldn’t understand the reasoning behind. I will post the document and I hope that perhaps with a little help from everyone I can get an understanding of the reasons why the questions were answered like that.

    @Diggi – Quick question in the simulation with the Dubai router, the MidEast branch office, etc…there in question number 4

    “If required, what password should be configured on the router in the MidEast brach office to allow connection to be established with the Dubai Router?

    -No password is required
    -En8ble
    -Scr8
    -T1net
    -C0nsole

    Can you please let me know how do you get the password?

    Thks

  88. johnny
    December 21st, 2010

    @iniesta.

    To get the password, you have to use the command. show run, and look at the running config. This contains the passwords.

  89. Iniesta
    December 21st, 2010

    @johnny- Thanks that is what I did.

    Here is the document – These are the questions I had today. I honestly don’t know if the answers are right (P4S)

    I would appreciate if somebody could help me out here and clarify the answers for me (basically I am trying to understand why?).

    Thank you again.

    December 21st, 2010

    @Iniesta,

    You must use the show run command on the VTP sim like James mentioned. You also need to use the show vtp status command to find the vtp domain name. The domain name of the new switch must be exactly the same as the first switch, so if the first switch has Central as the domain name it must be Central (vtp domain Central) on the new switch. If you put in central it will not work.

    As for the frame relay sim… that question is tricky. If you look at the top of the running config you will see something like username MidEast branch password C0nsole.

    If you see nothing at the top choose no password

    @Iniesta

    I looked over your document and all the answers are correct. I have explained the first STP question in detail a few times so you may want to look back a previous posts. (Switch C is the Root) (Switch B Gi 02 will be an Alt/blocking port because it has a higher path cost.)

    The STP question toward the bottom is correct. You look at Priority first. Then Mac Address (Numbers before Letters).

    Many of the other questions are answered in detail on http://www.9tut.com as well as on this site (On the menu items on the right side.)

    December 21st, 2010

    I also sat my icnd2 today and feel sooo sad for having failed it..scored 798!!!
    It seems to me that I had the same type of questions than Injesta and Johnny..
    I did not use Matty or honabusa to study because there were no explanations..I need to understand why it is a correct answer..I used cbtnugget vids,try to replicate the networks with packet tracer, cisco websites and of course 9tut.. I was given testking papers but found it difficult to read..
    I checked on honabusa p4s doc, and most of my questions were in that doc, incl. the sims (got all the same sims as Injesta).
    Also i got the drag and drop with Defining a Maximum and Triggered updates.. English not my first language and had some difficulty to understand sometimes..
    Anyway, if you take the exam, make sure you understand the concept and the WHY and HOW it is applied.. Dont memory dump yourself cause I came across a few questions that cisco change a few words etc.. and look very similar with what you seen in some docs..so the answer will be different..
    well, i will study more and try to resit in the new year..Good Luck to all and thanks for all the contributions… i let you know if i pass next time..fingers crossed..
