@Steve, Seriously! At least make an effort to look for the docs before making a post asking where you can find them. Links have been posted about a dozen times in the last 7 comment pages not to mention the links I posted to them about half way up this page.

Hey Yo! ~ Sorry, I just had to say that 🙂

Guys I did it, got 959 points ..

Some advices to pass the exam :

    * Read and understand cisco guides
    * CBT nuggets
    * Practice Labs ( cisco packet tracer should help us a lot )
    * Matty and pass4sure docs ( 70 % of the question of the exam are there )

The OSPF , frame relay and VTP Sims were on my exam, also got around 10 questions that are not listed in the documents , most of them regarding access lists )

If you have any questions I will be here for a while. Thanks all of you guys 🙂

    Congratz man!

Can you go through P4S and Matty’s doc and tell us which questions you saw on the test?

  14. Juanky
    December 23rd, 2010

I think this is not a good way to study, I suggest you to read and understand most of the questions, the exam just take 40 of them and I am almost sure wont be the same questions.

Juanky’s post proves that Johnny and Raj have been trying to misguide us here. Those losers failed their CCNA exam and don’t want us to take the test so that exam questions get changed in near future. Don’t jump to any conclusion from one or two persons’ point of view as they may have studied only dumps and have little or no knowledge about the material.

    @Juanky
I think it would be great if you can post those questions. Most of us have already gone through P4S and Matty’s doc.

    Hi,

I have a couple of quick questions hopefully someone could help me out.

    1.) Matty’s document pag.87q- 154

Two switches with the same priority (default) 32768

    SW1 MAC: 00107bcc733a
    SW2 MAC: 00107bcc7347

Which one will asume the discarding role?

If the priority is the same then MAC is checked and numbers have preference before letters which menas that SW2 MAC will the one choosen.

The part I don’t understand is why fa0/11 on switch 4 gets picked over fa0/2 on switch4?

    ——————————————-

2.) Matty’s document pag -119 question number 192 – Can someone explain the answer?

    Thank you!

where can i find Matty docs?

  28. Iniesta
    December 26th, 2010

I have been reviewing Matty’s doc and one of the questions that I had in my exam last week was the ITEM 48 of 70 (pag3) it wasn’t the same question but I got exactly the question that was described “I had a very similar question “dubug ip rip” output shown nut what they had in options was that you have to identify which interface (or route) will be out in the routing table”

Does anyone knows the question I am talking about? If so, does anyone have this question somewhere or some information about it and is willing to share it with us in the forum. I think that this one seems to be one of their “usual” questions.

  29. Ice
    December 26th, 2010

@iniesta where can i find matty doc?

  30. Iniesta
    December 26th, 2010

@Diggi – On December 21st, 2010 you said “I believe the drag and drop that Johnny is referring to is also in the P4S document (Near the bottom). LSA has been removed and replaced with Defining a Maximum, and Triggered Updates.”

I may have seen the debug question Johnny is talking about… The debug showed the interface, IP, and hop count metrics. I believe the correct answer had the correct hop count, the other answers had different hop counts however the IP and interface was correct.

    Does that sound correct Johnny?
    —————————————————

Johnny never said anything back providing the information.

Can you please help us out to find these two questions – perhaps on the questions is the one I am trying find (check one of my posts on December 26th)

@Raj – Were these questions asked in your exam?

  31. Ice
    December 26th, 2010

thank you Iniesta, did you pass or taking it this week?

  32. Iniesta
    December 26th, 2010

@Ice – Failed retaking soon don’t know when yet. Good luck on your test next week. Let us know how it goes and share your experience with the rest of us in the forum.

One more question P4S document pag 70 the question with the Distribution and Access Layer switches and the printer.

@Diggi said – The Answer is switch 3 not Switch 1 like the answer shows. (Switch 1 is just the root bridge, but the question asks which switch is the designated switch for the printers. Since Switch 3 and Switch 4 are the only ones that have links to the printers it cannot be Switch 1.)

The answer is Switch 3 because it has the lowest Mac Address (The priority values for Switch 3 and 4 are the same)

    The MAC address are

    SW3 MAC: 00107bcc733a
    SW4 MAC: 00107bcc7347

I am a little confused with this concept but it is my understanding that numbers take presidence over letters so if my statement is correct SW4 will be the one choosen.

Could someone help me out to clarify this?

Also @IBRA’s question above has the same MAC’s so it is the same scenario but different question.

    Thank you!

    @Diggi

On your post in pag. 11 – Saw a the new ACL drag and drop. It asked what traffic would be prevented or allowed. (2 allow and 3 prevent)

It was kind of easy. Two of the answers had IPs and eq ports that where outside the access list wild card mask and eq number that was given, so they were fairly easy to weed out.

Can you please tell us more about this question? Is the questions documented any where here so far I haven’t been able to find it?

    E. ip ospf distance

I have found really useful post about new questions that I haven’t been able to identify.

I am wondering if someone have already identified them somewhere and would like to share them with everyone else.

Ok, there were around 4-7 different questions that I hadn’t seen or heard of from 9TUT’ers.

There was a new Darg&Drop. It was a Access List question regarding access for hosts 192.162.11.1 to 192.162.15.254 to the WWW. The options were: 3 selections that were allowed and 2 that were denied. They were listed as port 80 as well as ‘HTTP’??? Sorry, I know I bombed that one…couldn’t figure out what they wanted.

There was a question about only allowing 1 telnet user access…the options were: VTY 0 4; VTY 1; VTY 0 and something else…Sorry! I chose VTY 0, but it was a guess…
There was a question that I had seen somewhere before (can’t remember where), but it was a troubleshooting question..blah blah…the Ans was to construct a route back to Router 4 from Router 7……Sorry, i can’t be more specific.

There was a NAT question that needed two answers. Options were: IP NAT INSIDE, IP NAT OUTSIDE. The other two options were sort of like incomplete ACL lists…they just didn’t look right???? Ok, last one folks.

There was a question that asked you how to add security. It was to enter the Service Password-Encryption or Enable Secret Password option

@9Tut Community – THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!!!! (esp the active members in the past 5 pages) Passed with 900 yesterday!

Roughly 32 of the questions were from Matty’s Doc and P4S that was shared previously. I did however watch all of the CBT nuggests videos and they helped quite a bit with the newer questions.

I also got the Switch SIM that was described in a previous thread about finding the VTP domain, setting VTP name, IP and default gateway. Definitely know this as it took up most of my time.

If you decide to study the p4s questions, do not just memorize because the questions that show up on the exam looked exactly the same as P4S but they changed an IP addy or will ask for the opposite of what the P4S asked to trick you. So READ QUESTIONS CAREFULLY, I noticed about 5 questions with this trickery.

NOTE – Know when to apply access-group and access-class (this came up in a few questions). Access-Class is applied to the VTY line while Access-Group is to an interface.
    _________

@Iniesta – I remember the Drag and Drop you are referring to, vaguely.. So what they did was they gave you the syntax of what commands they entered on the router. It was an access-list deny with a range of IPs that are denied access to the port 80 going out. You will have to do some Binary Conversions and IP Subnetting to figure out which IP ranges get blocked. They also try to trick you because 1 answer with be port 80 and the other is port http but NOTE: the one with the port http was out of the IP range of the access list deny so it actually is allowed. They want you to think immediately the two options with the port 80 and eq http are denied but that is not correct because ip is out of range. (sorry for typing so much). Lesson of this Drag and Drop – Know your IP Subnetting.

The VTY question I put VTY 0 4 as the answer.. only cause i’ve never just done VTY 0 when applying security to the telnet lines .. but I could be wrong – someone else might want to explain.

Don’t recall the router 4 to router 7 one you are referring to.. sorry.

The NAT question I don’t think I got right, it was definitely something I didn’t see before and I guessed on it =X ..

As for the adding security one – I put those same two answers =)

FINAL NOTE: Those who are looking at the site – don’t just say “please send me this and that” … Read the previous threads as all the links are there .. I found some very good info in the threads that weren’t in the documents that helped me understand the concepts better. Don’t be lazy and go “omg 12 pages – i’m not looking at that!” If that is your mentality, then you don’t deserve our help.

Good luck ALL!!!!! 🙂 CCNP Time!

    @Ibra and Iniesta

You read MAC addresses left to right… 3 is lower then 4 so SW3 is the correct answer.

  40. Diggi
    December 27th, 2010

@ Raj, every one of those questions are in either Honabusa’s P4S or Test Inside 17.14.

The VTY question that people are asking about is in Test Inside. I will find it when I have some time and post the question and answer. I believe the answer was vty 1. If I recall the qustion was about an ACL to limit a user to 1 vty line. It was kind of trick question because one would think vty 0 (Since it would be the first vty port), however the answer with vty 1 was the only one that would limit to just 1 port.

  41. Iniesta

So the 2 options were eq to HTTP and the other 80 but the one with HTTP was out of the range ? Which one was the correct one?

    thks

  44. Diggi
    December 27th, 2010

@Iniesta, Yes that would be the correct Test Inside.

I dont remember anything more about the drag and drop then what has already been stated.

    Here is the VTY question.

A network administrator needs to allow only one telnet connection to a router. For anyone viewing the configuration and issuing the show run command, the password for telnet access should be encrypted. Which set of commands will accomplish this task?

    A. service password-encryption
    access-list1 permit 192.168.1.0.0.0.255
    line vty0 4
    login
    password cisco
    access-class 1

    B. enable password secret
    line vty0
    login
    password cisco

    C. service password-encryption
    line vty1
    login
    password cisco

    D. service password-encryption
    line vty0 4
    login
    password cisco

    The answer is C.

All right I got it oass the exam today 925/1000.

First I want to thank Diggi, ICDN2 Soon, Honabusa for his donative of P4S, Matty for his famous document LOL! and everyone else that at sometimes has answered any of my questions or help in a way or another.

    Here are my 5 cents…

I said 5 cents because believe it or not everything has been said already in the forum…

Anyway…my best advise is READ ALL the POSTS (yes all the pages…) everything is there.

Then STUDY (CBTNuggets, Trainsignal, Cisco Press you name it…) and then go through a couple of dumps (the latest ones) to test your knowledge you will pass the test.

Questions hasn’t changed from what everyone has been saying and SIMs are the same ones that have been commented over and over again.

    So go for it!

A final comment to 9tut – It will be helpful if you create some section where the questions can be posted and then everyone could provide explanations or comments about them. The current questions on the site are non updated. The community (us) will post the pictures somewhere and then we will make comments or explanations as I mentioned before.

    Just an idea…

    Good luck!

  46. icnd2 soon
    December 28th, 2010

@Xavi – In my case the port http one was denied but my point is that they might change the IP adresses up so that the port http ends up being allowed. So know your subnetting and binary conversions.

    @Iniesta – CONGRATS BUDDY!!!!

Again, all the info is here for you guys. Good luck!

    for the Telnet ACL question

  52. Diggi
    December 28th, 2010

    @Iniesta, Congrats!

    @s.a.ciscoguy

The question asks to only allow 1 telnet connection a router.

Answer A would allow 5 connections to the router for 1 IP address so answer A would not fill requirements

Answer B would would not encrypt the password (So answer B would not work)

Answer D would again allow for 5 telnet connections.

Answer C would allow for only one telnet connection and would encrypt the password, so C is the correct answer.

The latest P4S that was posted here was not terribly accurate for my exam. I would say about 15-20 of the 40 questions were from the P4S/Matty’s doc. The rest of the questions I had not seen before and I had to answer them from knowledge.

A few new drag and drops. I noticed about 2 or 3 drag and drops that I had not seen in any dumps/test material. They were your typical drag term to definition. I DID have a couple of the drag and drops that were on the P4S as well though. I had questions 1 and 2 from the first drag and drop page and question 2 from page 2 on this website.

Had the VTP sim. Easy points.

I personally found the test to be pretty hard. I studied for about 6 months for this exam and barely passed. I read the entire Cisco Press book twice. I watched the CBT Nuggets AND Train Signal videos. I studied the latest P4S as well as Matty’s doc and did a number of the older dumps as practice tests. I used Packet Tracer to practice sims and configurations. I also work as a network admin so I get to practice at work on real equipment fairly often. Even with all of this I struggled a bit on this exam. Not trying to scare people but just saying that it was tough even with all of the studying I did.

As mentioned numerous times before: Dumps are not enough to pass this exam. Study your butt off and know the material.

I had a lot of frame relay questions, about 2-3 IPv6 questions, a lot of OSPF and EIGRP questions that were not in dumps. Sorry I do not remember specifics of the questions as I don’t memorize them as I answer them. Just click and move on due to having only 75 minutes to finish.

Good luck to anyone else taking this test. Time for me to move onto my CCNP studies now. Thanks again to all of the contributors on this site!

@Diggi, the test inside you recommended to Inesta says TestInside.640-802.v17.14.by.Acme.356q.vce. Does this make any difference considering we are taking the 640-816 exam as opposed to the 640-802 ? Please clarify. Thanks

@Gap. The TI I recommended is for the CCNA so it has both icnd1 and 2 material. You should be able to weed out the material fairly easy. I just noticed I could find a lot of the “new” questions that people were posting in that version of TI.

@Diggi. Thanks for info. I have a few more weeks until the exam but thought I should start to familiarize myself with the questions as I do the studies. My exam is booked for the 24/02/2011. Thanks again.

I took the exam today and passed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was difficult with questions that i have not seen before. the sims were the same as what everyone has mentioned above but with different IP. my suggestion would be to study the matty docs and all the sections here including the CCNA section even if you are taking the ICND2 as i was.

CCNP time !!! thank you 9tut and everyone

forgot to add, make sure you study other materials (i.e videos, books and etc)

    @Ice

Congrats man! Glad you passed. I think personally that there might have been a bit of new material added to the test lately. Seems like more than half my test was not on any of the dumps I had seen lately. Anyone else taking the test soon make sure you study up good and don’t just rely on dumps.

Another quick note on my exam that I remembered. Lots of ACL questions. I think I had at least 8-10 questions on ACLs.

  76. Ice
    December 30th, 2010

    @Jason

ACL’s and know the terms like route poisoning and etc. NAT is very important to know along with the ins and out of VLANS and VTP.

Ts is very good but man can chris make me zzzzzz. What I would do is focuse on Jeremy video and whatever blanks you have use chris from TS. If anything use cisco learning which I use often.

You gotta know the material to pass the test. If you only studied dumps and have only little knowledge about the topics, you will not pass. This is my guarantee. So study first and then take the exam.

    great job mate thanks
    one mistake
    question 24
    Answer is :C IP Classless
    not D:(not ip route ….)
when we use default routes we should use ip classless because routers are by default classful.

@Lukaash! am trying to convert a pdf to vce. The pdf has over 200 questions but after formatting it, I can only see about 56 questions, do I need to use a cracked version of the formatter ? if so have you got it?

  99. luukash
    January 5th, 2011

it took me a long time because it was transformed into PDF to Word and then ctr + c, ctr + v, the text typed by hand, so may be typographical errors, English is not my first language
