Still 50 questions or?? and Time? 90min?
I have heard ICND2 is less time than ICND1 and less time… Is that true?

    hmeister the pkt, VTP Sim
You can download this sim and practice it with Packet tracer here.
You will have to get your own Packet Tracer however..no link for that.
    https://www.9tut.net/icnd2/icnd2-labsim/vtp-configuration-sim#more-129 (look at bottom).

***However, I cannot FIND the EIGRP, OSPF Simlet’s, and I’m Using Packet Tracer from Cisco..these Labs are Brilliant guys! Anyone have a link for the 9Tut Simls for EIGRP/OSPF/NAT?**

I am taking my ICND2 (next) week folks, and I just can get NAT down. I understand the theory, it’s just not sticking? How much of NAT is on ICND2? I thought I would throw this out to the Cisco Community…what helped you MAKE IT STICK, so I can HELP ME PASS??

thanks so much 9Tut! I will be back to post my goods, after I PASS!! 🙂

    Vash…
Thanks for the good detective work… Will download now.
The PT helps with learning and training in the SIM and CLI for speed.
Just breaking into NAT and this will take some practice.
I will review CBNuggets as the video is very good and hopefully he has a good lesson there.
    Will let you know.
Good luck on ICND2 and all the best.
Hope you will be standing tall next week with your CCNA!…

    90 min – yes – same as ICND1 with 50 questions. Thx for confirmation…
Associate at work took ICND2 last month and neglected to keep track of time and ran out before end of exam!
Good luck next week and I will be reviewing CBNuggets for NAT and will update you later today.

    I just passed my ICND 2 640-816.
Just a heads up, do not go into this test with only dump knowledge. you will WASTE your money.
This cert is difficult. and the Sims are tough!
Know the material. study the Wendell Odom ICND 2 Cisco Press book. and CBT Nuggets, if you dont have an actual instructor.

Spend the time to Learn, not memorize! I cannot emphasize that enough.

Good luck to everyone in the future in their Cisco Certs.

    A.D.
    Check your mail…

As some of you know, VCE is for an Exam Engine. It is just another tool to use on your way to earning your CCNA+.

And I agree with Trevor, no one can survive memorizing VCE tests however, if you want to use VCE in the correct way, to study while using this tool, reading your Cisco Press, or reading your Lammle, using Packet Tracer to learn CLI, Read some more and finally study and listen to CBNuggets then you will have a better chance to pass the test and retain knowledge. The VCE test engine can assist you with showing your weak points and what you need to study to pass. It will also fine tune your test taking to allow you to function in the test environment.

My hope to all of you and some of the less fortunate folks here who may not have access to Cisco classroom training, Cisco books and perhaps even a job that has a budget to allow them some training is to give back something here to assist with the Cisco curriculum.

All the best to everyone and hope you all pass. ICND2 is not easy and I can’t imagine trying to pass by just memorizing a VCE – (IMHO) Keep Studying – And when you get to the point when you think your head is going to explode – step back and be honest with yourself and go over the syllabus and make sure you know the material! It can be an introspective experience to better your Cisco skills!

Cheers and good luck to all of you…

Hmeister, thanks a lot! Awesome!! I completely agree with you. I have been studying for quite a while. To me, dumps also helps in figuring out what Cisco wants from you. Sometimes those questions are just tricky and even though you understand all the concepts (and work on routers like I do), you still can get the question wrong.

  20. Oh Yeah!
    March 17th, 2011

Passed the test today with an 840 and noticed a couple things.

    1) The VTP sim, here it says to use the LAST known IP address, but on the test, it asks for the FIRST. Be careful.

    2) There is a question showing the symbols of the routers, switches, and whatnot, the answer is ATM (Square with 2 lines crossing making an X).

    3) Study the 10.6 dump, its updated and about 35/40 questions are from there. Yes, there are 501 questions, but study them all!

Good luck guys, this site is great

Took the exam today and failed! I got and 811 and needed 825! *sigh* I got the same as Oh yea did The VTP sim, here it says to use the LAST known IP address, but on the test, it asks for the FIRST. There is a question showing the symbols of the routers, switches, and I think I picked the wrong answer! it was a few other questions that I havent seen before. I did have a few drag and drops, the frame relay hotspot, and just a few other that was listed on the site. Do anyone have any recent or valid dumps that they can email me?

Passed the INCD2 this morning. 15.6 vce covered it well. Frame relay and VTP sims again. Choose the LAST ip and give it to the host this time. Thanks to all and keep up the good work. 40 questions and 75 minutes is the way both of my tries were setup. Plenty of time to write down on the pad provided stuff like a subnet chart and a few commands. Luukash and hmeister nice work on the vces. Most of the people that come here don’t know how much you are really helping them. Your work helped me most with the time element.

    andermle:

A-14 – An Ethernet switch receives a unicast frame with a destination MAC that is listed in the switch table.
What will this switch do with the frame?

Yes – the explanation has a picture that was added that refers to Mac-Address Tables on switches – I kept that in although it is not exactly what is referenced in the question it does however refer to the mac-address-tables and how they work. If you find another example that closely resembles this scenario let me know.

    ************************

c-16 – What are three advantages of VLANs? (Choose three.)

Yes – Looked at this and says “Choose Three” and there are only two checked as correct.

    A. VLANs establish broadcast domains in switched networks.
    B. VLANs utilize packet filtering to enhance network security.
    C. VLANs provide a method of conserving IP addresses in large networks.
    D. VLANs provide a low-latency internetworking alternative to routed networks.
    E. VLANs allow access to network services based on department, not physical location.
    F. VLANs can greatly simplify adding, moving, or changing hosts on the network.

    Answer:
    A, E, F (IMHO)

B almost looks good – Any thoughts?

We are not talking about the same Exam A question 14…the one I’m see is a frame-relay map question. The picture is of the router Barcelona, but the answers are from router Dubai. This is on your ADmin rev18. I see why we don’t see the same question 14…the questions are randomized. The question I’m speaking of starts out with “A static map of LA-Group…” As for your answers to the vlan question(which was one my exam yesterday), I chose A, E, F. I need to go back and see if that’s correct. I felt sure of A & F.

  35. andermle
    March 19th, 2011

Also, the question on exam C is randomized also. It starts out “You are a Jr. Engineer…what 2 answers…” In the answers, you can only choose one answer. Sorry for the confusion.

    Andermle…
Yes, the randomizing doesn’t work with us when trying to naildown a question.
Yes, will check the Barcalona ques.
Last night and this morning I worked through Exam C in detail and cleaned up about 15 plus questions.
Sunday I should have another decent update. I am critiquing 9tut’s drag and drop and trying to figure out how to incorporate the 4 questions in one question scenario. I think I can break out the 4 questions into one separate exam and turn off randomozing.

    Hi Andermle…
    Ok –
Just wondering who is the original author on AAdmin? Who ever he is – Thank-you…

This tweeking the AAdmin VCE test engine helps me too!
Part of my study process is to try and find the items I can honestly say I need more work on.
Tweeking the exam helps get me there… and keeps my interest.
Some of 9tut is already in this VCE. For example, some of the lab sections on the published 9tut site is included in a few questions.
I just would like to see if I can create a question that runs in Visual CertExam that incorporates Packet Tracer where you have to enter syntax on the CLI just like the exam in order to answer a question…

Thanks 9tut for your priceless help. I cleared my icnd2 yesterday with 919/1000 points and I am happy.it will not be possible without you. To my fellow candidates, let me give you a hint about the exam. Icnd2 contains one vtp sim to configure the second switch with no access to the router,so use show running-config to obtain the default gateway and the the ip of the other switch and pay attention the first or the last available ip address to give. Some from sub netting drag and drop..access list ip,ip address, wild card mask..0.0.0.0. And some like drag n drop split horizon lsa, poison reverse. One thing to mention, don’t only rely on icnd2 sections. There are some questions from ccna page also. From ccna hotspot the frame relay question was there, it has 5 questions based on the sim. Use show frame-relay map and show running-config commands to answer them.one and last thing I advice you to know subnneting and the materials. Don’t memorize dumps only. And know all show commands as they are ten commandments. Show running-config, show vtp status, show interface vlan, show Mac-address-table, show spanning-tree, show frame-relay map, show ip arp, show vlan are the most important commands. Before the exam starts, write all the commands you remember on your given paper and all subnetting calculations to save time. Good luck on your exam.

@hmeister – YOU ROCK! Really, you do. I appreciate what you have done here. Thanks for sending me the dump last week. I passed ICND2 today. I had the 40 question exam. I read @Temesgen’s comments and well, we must have had the same exam! Funny story, I arrived early to the exam, and sat in my car with my laptop and opened exam C to get my head into it. I got through at least 15 questions before I went inside, and when I took the exam, 5 of those questions were on the exam. As said before, know why and how things are right or wrong, and 9tut will prepare you for the exam. Also, go through the 9tut.com’s sims and questions, many were on my exam. @hmeister, I can email you more specifics if you would like.

Passed ICND 2 today just on 2nd try. I got 838. It is tricky exam. Thaks to all the people who prepared the dumps. They are a great tool. i had the VTP Sim. Had to choose the 1st available ip address. Also had frame-relay hotspot and a OSPF hotspot.

@vash, my sims were one that on icnd2 section which you have two switches and one router connected and you must configure switch 2 (branch-2) with only one switch access to get the info. The other two are the frame relay questions on ccna hot spot page.

    March 24th, 2011

I just passed ICND2 with a 932 and 15 minutes to spare at the end :-). Definitely feels good after failing it twice. Like other people have said you have to know the theory; you also need to put the time in to learn the material and I would suggest to use cisco press practice exams. Definitely practice with packet tracer and GNS3 too!

I was stuck on one problem, but turns out I got it right—> (OSPF will choose the highest up/up loopback IP for the router id, then the highest up/up IP from the remaining interfaces if it can’t obtain one from a loopback int). Thanks 9tut, this site helps soo much with the test!

out of the 4 books I’ve read, I have to suggest Wendell Odom’s CCNA ICND2 Official Certification Guide as the best book for this test.

    Onto the CCIP for me!

    So Stephen…
Usually “bricking it” means it no longer works?
(yes, I have asked this question – I live under a rock – sorry)

Great site. Had a recent ICND-2 Test. A few IPv6 questions. One was “which of the following are valid IPV6 addresses. Eliminated the IPV4 address right away but ‘froze’ on a IPV6 address that had “::” on the end with no subnet mask. Example: 2005:4003:edfe:beef:: …that that was it..no /64 or /56 after the :: The address just ended with the ::. Said yes but knew in my heart it was not. Any feedback.

Struggling with ICND2. RSTP popped up suddendly on recent test and asked which port will be come the discarding port. I was all prepared for pretty much any STP question but the had to bring in RSTP with it’s myriad of additional port roles.

    1st question I got in ICND-2 was :
What commands provide IP, Layer 1 and Layer 2 information. (choose 3 …think it was). Sat there thinking they wanted 3 commands that show you IP, Lay1, & Lay2 all in one command and I believe only 2 will do that: Show Interfaces & Show Running Config. The other choices were: show ip route and show ip interface…then I realized they must mean choose the commands that will give you IP, Lay 1, & Lay2 but not necessarily commands that give you all three. Anyone get this one?

thanks 9Tut. Very good info here. Say, any comments on the OSPF Sim question regarding Classful routing. 4 or 5 routers are shown with various networks but all are either 192.168.5.x or 172.16.x.x. How may networks are there is the question. Answers are 2, 4, and various other selections up to 10 I think. I selected 2 right away and moved on….but though about it afterwords. 192 is a Class C so Auto Summarization would suggest 192.168.5.0 is 1 network. Then we have the 172 .16 networks. 172 is a Class B so the other network must be 172.16.0.0. Voila ……2 networks. No need to lose any sleep ….right?
