That vce was not properly formated. Not much different from your vce.
May be not more than 10 question. I prefer your last vce. Just little correction will make it perfact.

    Hello..

I passed ICND1 last tuesday(899/1000) and I am going to prepare for ICND2. I’d like to know whether the Cisco Press ICND2 book is enough stuff to get ready for the exam.

  11. hmeister
    April 9th, 2011

    Dave…

Yes, I think so but this is based upon everyone else here saying it is enough.
I am also using VCE exam engine, Lammle CCNA, Cisco Press ICND1 & 2, and CBNuggetts Video.

    @ Share ICND2

    – B is correct because IP addresses that are in the 128.107.1.128/25 (interface fa0/1) range are public IP addresses. What I mean is that those addresses don’t have to be NAT’d, because they are valid addresses for the internet. This would be in contrast to private IP addresses such as 172.16.1.0/24 (interface fa0/0)

    – E is correct because although 128.107.1.128 addresses are technically valid internet addresses, the router is currently configured with NAT. This means that those addresses are not reachable from directly from the internet. The only address that is configured on the public interface of the router (s0/0) is 128.107.1.1

The important thing to see in the config is the “ip nat inside” command set for both FastEthernet interfaces, and the “ip nat outside” command that is set for Serial0/0 interface. Because fa0/1 is set to “ip nat inside”, it is not directly accessible from the internet.

Just passed ICND2 exam an hour ago. many of the questions were from “9tut”.

I really like to thank the guys at 9tut; they are helping people to prepare for exam. Knowing the stuff only is not always sufficient for exams with strict time-frame. you guys are doing good job!!

for the exam-takers, please go through this website once you finish your studies. sitting on the exam by checking only brain dumps is cheating; and cheating yourself.
For my ICND1 and ICND2 studies, I used following materials:

    1. CBT Nuggets videos by Jeremy, the great
    2. CCNA Study Guide – Todd Lammle, 6th Edition
    3. Packet tracer
    4. 9tut and some other brain dumps

    Good luck to all exam-takers!!

    @emd
Thank you for your wonderful explaination!

I understand from you that even the Device’s IP address is public address. the device’s will not be accessed if its interface is configured as NAT inside. Hence, if the device want to access the internet, it will still go through the NAT process but did not take up the interface Public IP address from the NAT pool. The device still use its own IP address instead.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for all!

  22. Mr Ekko
    April 11th, 2011

    Passed today.
Well to be honest, the questions were similar as those dumps, but they were a little different. The simulations also, but the format was different. So let me say that if you don’t know your “stuff”, and actually understand those sims and dumps, it’s almost impossible to pass the exam. Use this site and dump more as a guide, NOT as a source for taking the exams.

Many thanks for 9tut.net, Luukash, ADAdmin, hmeister, nagamin, and the rest of the guys that made this site and dumps possible. Respect.

Dumps are taste of real exam. Do not except, will come exactly. Some may, some may not.
Just try to grab concept of question, than think of other possibility. After you practice with dump you will get alot of sense. Try to understand main theory.

Passed the exam with 900+. Was surprised how difficult it was. I had only half of the questions from the current dumps, not like ICND1 were I had seen most of the questions.
I’m glad I had studied the material enough to answer the other half of the questions good enough to pass.
I had the VTP lab, FR and OSPF Simlets from 9tut. That sure helped!

  30. CCN…EH?
    April 12th, 2011

    @emd and “Share ICND2″

    I agree with emd answers B E
And the reasons for B and E.

The reason for E given, has got me thinking and in the end emd’s explanation covers it all but thought I would dump my thoughts to add to it hopefully to help and not confuse πŸ™‚

If NAT is configured on the interface this should not interfere with any other traffic. It should just NAT the addresses that are in the NAT statement. In this case Access list 1 traffic should be included in any NAT activity.
Therefore this leaves the question open as to why the statement
” Internet hosts may not initiate connections to DMZ Devices through the configuration that is shown”

So I think the reason is the word “…May…”
The configuration shown does not give any reason that the subnet is routed towards the internal router from the internet.
The address 128.107.1.1 is, as it is connected to External router so you can presume. Access to the internet would not work (although this is not stated in the question but would be a separate question in the exam)

But 128.107.1.128/25 is a different network to 128.107.1.1 and there is no configuration presented to us about the /25.

As a side note the traffic once at the router would be ok as the 128/25 is a connected route so does not need a route added.

So i’d say Internet hosts MAY not initiate…through configuration shown.

Also using the technique to exclude wrong answers leaves you with B and E.

A Question: In 192.168.18.0/27 if it says subnet zero is not allowed it means that the first subnet is 192.168.18.8.32 – 192.168.18.63 and so on?

do to answer the second question.

Host with public address DMZ was behind the NAT. NAT will not work, host from out side of NAT can not be initiate connections.

    April 13th, 2011

@ Nagamin: NAT & PAT are useful for translating private IPs to Public IPs, If you have the same pool in private and public use NAT, if you want to translate more private IPs to less public IPs use PAT. Good Luck πŸ™‚

    @Yousef:
The only one of the new questions that I can remember right now had to do with were to apply NAT inside / outside on interfaces. A router with Internet connection and 2 LAN interfaces with switches was shown. I selected outside on serial to Internet and inside on both LAN interfaces.
The rest is still a bit blurry in my mind, sorry. But I’ll try to remember more.

Didn’t mean to scare you. I know I didn’t study as hard for this one as I did for previous exams – but I still passed. So as long as you know at least some of the stuff you should be fine. I just had expected to recognize more of the questions, that’s all.

    Rearding to thie quest
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/61596915@N02/5616369736/in/photostream/
I think A should be correct because switch A has the higher priority.

  61. Yousef
    April 14th, 2011

@ Share ICND2: As Naghamin said:

Bridge ID = Priority + MAC address
All priority was default. So move to MAC address.
    According to MAC ,
    1st 0f00.0ace.0000 (switch B)
    2nd 0f00.cafe.1111 (switch A)
    3rd 0f00.face.0000 (switch C)
so switch B was root bridge, B-fa0/0 and B-fa0/1 become des port.
because of that A-fa0/0 and c-fa0/0 become root port. so A-fa0/1 and c-fa0/1 need to be des port and block port.
according to priority A was on 2nd place, so A-da0/a become des port and c-fa0/1 is going to be block port. (STP protocol)
    B, C, D is correct answer.

  62. Share ICND2
    April 14th, 2011

    @Yousef

Appreciate! you have clear my doubts!! But here comes another questions:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/61596915@N02/5616369558/in/photostream/

what is default-information originate? I have not Saw it yet~~

  63. Share ICND2
    April 14th, 2011

I have googled it. The command will ask ti use the default route. so I understand better now
    Thank you!

  64. Yousef
    April 14th, 2011

@ Share ICND2: As you may noticed there is a default route and default-information originate

This comment is the point in this question, whenever you use it with a default route it will originate (advertise) the default route.

There is another comment: default-information originate always: The always keyword, when added, says to the router, “Don’t care, go ahead and advertise a default route, even if you yourself don’t have one”!

So, B is the correct answer.

    Best Regards

  65. Yousef
    April 14th, 2011

@ Share ICND2: A great explanation for this question is here: http://www.9tut.com/ccna-ospf-questions says:

First, notice that the more-specific routes will always be favored over less-specific routes regardless of the administrative distance set for a protocol. In this case, because we use OSPF for three networks (172.16.100.0 0.0.0.3, 172.16.100.64 0.0.0.63, 172.16.100.128 0.0.0.31) so the packets destined for these networks will not be affected by the default route.

The default route configured on R1 β€œip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial0/0β€³ will send any packet whose destination network is not referenced in the routing table of router R2 to R1, it doesn’t drop anything so answers A, B and C are not correct. D is not correct too because these routes are declared in R1 and the question says that β€œOSPF has been correctly configured on router R2β€³, so network directly connected to router R2 can communicate with those three subnetworks.

As said above, the default route configured on R1 will send any packet destined for a network that is not referenced in its routing table to R2; R2 in turn sends it to R1 because it is the only way and a routing loop will occur.

    April 15th, 2011

@Yousef in regards to your answer to Share ICND2 i am a bit confused about the answer being B. It appears to be the best choice however ospf routers do no exchange routing tables. They exchange their link state databases. They share their topology information via LSA’s and not by sending their routing table. Just by saying routing table it rules out that answers and makes answer D more appealing. The answers are a bit confusing i think.
    thx

  71. Yousef
    April 15th, 2011

    @ Frank:

+ The entire routing table is transmitted once every 30 minutes
+ Routing information is shared through Link-state updates (LSAs)
+ HELLO messages are used to maintain adjacent neighbors

    Read More: http://www.9tut.com/ospf-routing-protocol-tutorial

  72. Bailey
    April 15th, 2011

    @yousef
Pls are you talking about OSPF ?
If you are talking about OSPF, your first sentence is totally wrong…ospf doesnt send its entire routing table in every 30 secs…it is RIP that does that….ospf only uses hello in every 10sec to maintain its adjacency with its neighbors … thanks

  73. Yousef
    April 15th, 2011

@Bailey: Yes, It is OSPF, and if you read carefully it is 30 MINUTES NOT seconds.

  74. nagamin
    April 15th, 2011

Under normal conditions OSPF only sends out updated information rather than exchanging the entire routing table.
Sends updates when routes change or every 30 minutes.
Up to 16 equal-cost paths can be used (the default is 4).

Dear Friends, I am CCNA since 2 hours πŸ™‚
Thanks 9tut and special many thanks to Hmeister (You are great), the VCE is still valid 80-85%, I got (I think) 4 new questions, 2 easy and 2 hard, one of them was a new Drag & Drop as below (Not Exactly):

    access-list 100 deny tcp 192.168.4.0 0.0.3.255 any eq http
access-list 100 permit ip any any

Which one is denied and which one permitted (Of Course Drag & Drop):
Source IP: 192.168.7.41 Destination port: 80
Source IP: 192.168.8.240 Destination port: 80
Source IP: 192.168.5.112 Destination port: 53
Source IP: 192.168.6.10 Destination port: 23
Source IP: 192.168.3.74 Destination port: 80
Source IP: 192.168.4.41 Destination port: 80

Just excuse me I forgot the exact numbers.

Another question again Drag & Drop:
There are 2 switches and 1 router with 2 ports, you must choose when to put the (ip nat inside) and when to put the (ip nat outside).

These 2 were the easy new questions.

Unfortunately I don’t remember the 2 new hard questions, so sorry.

I got the sims that you should use frame-relay map and show running, it is here the second one: http://www.9tut.com/ccna-hotspot-questions

The other sims was: the VTP config here: https://www.9tut.net/icnd2/icnd2-labsim/vtp-configuration-sim

    building_1 IP was 192.168.80.34 255.255.255.224
    building_1 default gateway was: 192.168.80.33

So, as you may noticed the first usable IP in this subnet 192.168.80.33 is reserved for the default gateway and as 192.168.80.34 is for building_1 IP, so you should choose 192.168.80.35 255.255.255.224, It was a little bit confusing.

@ Special Note To Hmeister: Man, Just Go & Write Your Exam, After That you can study and practice more without any pressure. Get your CCNA and be free, believe me after being CCNA your mind will think better without concentrating on the exam and instead it will do practical jobs as easy as possible. Good Luck and Thanks Again

    @IOS _IMAGE
let me try my best and explain all I can
when you have switches running STP the first thing that happens is that they elect the root bridge….Meaning a go to switch that will act as a master for all the switches and this is done per vlan basis…
I Should mention this first in stp environment , your port role can either be
    ROOT, ALTERNATE, OR DESIGNATED
ROOT…..meaning the port is forwarding and it is forwarding to the elected root bridge
ALTERNATE…….meaning the port is in blocking state will not forward bpdu but will only listen
DESIGNATE….meaning the port is forwarding but not directly to the root bridge…
however a switch chosen as a root bridge must have all its port in forwarding state which is DESIGNATED….A root bridge will never block any of its port…..and again the switch is a root already so its port roles will NOT be root it will just be DESIGNATED……

    Is this question correct?

    http://imgur.com/Hvf7B

It looks like the picture is depicting a straight through cable. If that is the case then isn’t answer “A” incorrect?

  86. Bailey
    April 16th, 2011

    @EMD
THE answer is wrong….the correct answers should be b,c and d
cos that pinout is a straight through t-568A standard
    sgr sgr pin 1
    gr gr pin 2
    so so pin 3
    o o pin 6

@ I wanna say that without 9tut and Hmeister help I wouldn’t be able to pass.

@ 10q9tut: You can ignore 2-3 mistakes from 516 Questions. Actually they are simple one like the cable (PC to Router) or that which should choose /26 instead of /29. Just this simple questions, So if you want to correct them you can thank and ask Hmeister in another polite way, or correct them by your self. You know, he did this VCE and he hasn’t taken the exam yet.

i’m not complaining, i just want to tell him the mistakes i’ve found. i want his work to become better. yes, he did a lot to help the people that are studying, i agree with you.

on the VCE file it says to contact him here, that’s what i did.

    last offtopic i post here:
i want to apologize if i hurt anyone’s feeling, i did not intend to be rude. i do appreciate hmeister’s work, i do appreciate everyone that contributed to 9tut’s website.

i will edit the VCE files and correct them myself, i will not spread them as if they were my own. all i wanted to do was to report the problems, i see people see it as something bad (it’s called `feedback`). sorry again for being offtopic, thanks for your time. good luck studying πŸ™‚

    @10q9tut

You are welcome to 9tut. If you found something not correct or not clear, you can post it. and we can share our knowledge.
I’m understand that you don’y want to get wrong info to test taker. I’m beleive those question and answer in hmeister vce was collection of his studies.
Please post the error what you found, so other can notice that.

@Bailey thank you for your explanation…i got the concept now..

and May i ask whether the vce file created by hmeister are edited ? i mean..i could see many wrong answers from other vce.. like admin..old one… so hmeister one is edited for right answer ? or just regrouping the questions ? or both…

because I have downloaded vces from here and there..
i just want to focus on the vce which has the most right answers provided… just started doing revision and vce… so anyone have any idea ??

anyway..its nice to see hmesiter and other vce questions are in group…i could do switching questions..once I done revision with switching… πŸ™‚ ..now doing revision for routing..after that i’ll do routing questions… got more focus in each area….

Once again thank you all for being a very supportive community here.. my exam is on 28th..
actually it was supposed to be on 26th..but i shifted..LOL! .. ICND2 is HARD!!!! πŸ™

    @Anonymous
hmeister’s vce was still valid 85% on my exam. I got only 2 sim.
One was VTP config sim as you see on 9tut. But different ip addess. Make sure you use only what the question ask you to do. even ask you to use same ip address from other device. That is the point.
Next sim was frame-relay with 4 subinterface. as on hmeister”s cvs, but different name and ip address. make sure you remember the “show frame-relay map” command.

hmeister’s vce will help you alot. make sure you catch the concept of question. ip numbers, names and choices are moving around. don’t forget to packet tracer sim from 9tut.
    Good luck all.

@nagamin: I passed it 3-4 days ago and as your score 946, LOL.
I am in my way to MCITP (Microsoft 70-680), I think it will help more than Cisco Voice.
    What do you think?
