@ash
“no ip subnet-zero” means you cant use the first and last subnet on the given network.
example:
you have subnetted 192.168.100.0 into 32 equal subnets.
all subnets are connected to RouterABC.
RouterABC is configured with the “no ip subnet-zero” command.
it wont be possible to assign any addresses on the 192.168.100.0/27 subnet or on the 192.168.100.248/27 subnet
where is the Frame Relay SIM on this website
@Adamus and Xallax
OK i get it now, basically when “no ip subnet zero” is configured you cannot use the 1st subnet which is normally the 192.168.0.0 network address or the 192.168.100.0 network address and the last possible network address which is 192.168.100.248.
I have exactly a week now to write my ICND2 exam
I passed ICND2 today with a score of 888. Thanks a lot!
Sims were VTP and CCNA Frame Relay hotspot (9tut maybe you should link it in the ICND2 website too). Actually, many questions were from the CCNA section, not only ICND2.
I was surprised by the large number of NAT questions in the test today. Including one with a three-legged router (1 inside & 2 outside). Also a lot of questions about access lists.
thanks to the team of 9tut ,the lab question are up to date in this site just passed icnd2 yesterday
score=930 min rqed 825
paper was simple but you need speed understand the concept
do the dump from the other question examcollection.com
so finally i m ccna now next
few days rest and then focing on ccnp switch…..
@eric & notice to all
yesterday in my paper the sim was only from vtp and frame relay
no eigrp and ospf sim
u r righr eric a lot of ques from acl
my adv to all
understand each topic
then do lab from 9 tut
then dumps from examcollection icnd 2 latest one
u will pass sure
best of luck….
For access lists I mostly get tripped up on the proper protocol. Any tips on how to identify what is tcp/ip/udp? There’s always memorization but are there technical clues? Should one be able to relate to the OSI model for every example? That’s still tricky to me as telnet would seem to be an application, thus IP, but it’s transport layer and so is tcp (if I even have that right).
I’m doing my exam on Thursday, feeling reasonably confident as I’m understanding things, the lights are coming on, as I go through practise questions and explanations with followup of my own.
still cannot find the Frame Relay Sim in this web site that people are talking about. Can someone state how to get to it or send the URL. Thanks
@Dave
I think they might mean this one, about a third of the way down the page:
http://www.9tut.com/ccna-hotspot-questions
If you are weak on ACL’s, review the section on this site. It explains all pretty well, you might want to stay from the Cisco security track though if you dislike ACL’s a lot haha.
Whether to block on IP/TCP/UDP mostly depends on the way the question is written and your general protocol knowledge (you have to know which protocols use TCP and which use UDP). Just memorize the most common ones: http/http/smtp/ftp/telnet/ssh/dns/dhcp. If it states a particular service that has to be denied or blocked it usually is TCP, like 80 for a webserver. If access to a host has to be denied/allowed it is IP since that blocks/allows any kind of ACL related traffic.
Thanks Sammidog
Thank you 9tut, 970/1000 .
Book+Train Signal +Packet Tracer+9tut website.
u deserve a donation.
For fellow exam takers-
Got 43 questions,
VTP sim,
Frame relay sim,
ACL drag drops,
IPV6
NAT configure,
General theory questions, If u had gone through all the questions of 9tut website u would breeze through theory questions.
Advice- Understand the concepts, the parameters are modified in the exam even though the same pattern question appears, if u don’t watch carefully u would miss it.
Was that VTP sim config or the other VTP sim BD?
And well done you on 970 π pass
Hi EM,

Hi all,
took an ICND2 on July 5, but unfortunately did not pass it, had 43 questions, anyway thanks to 9tut, examcollection – http://www.examcollection.com/cisco/Cisco.Lead2pass.640-816.v2012-05-15.by.Daniel.232q.vce.file.html – 100% valid
@BD
thanks for this. I am writing on Thursday. What kind of questions were on the IPv6 as this is my weakness
, http://www.examcollection.com/cisco/Cisco.Lead2pass.640-816.v2012-05-15.by.Daniel.232q.vce.file.html
All my IPV6 questions are in this VCE, this is a good one.
Watch out for zero compression.
@BD
Many thanks mate, two more days…….
Passed ICND2 today with 874.
Thanks to 9tut for the excellent site. This is a brilliant site for topping up knowledge and gaining experience for the exams. most of the questions came from the site or from the latest vce. (BUT make sure you know your stuff)
Looks like the main sims for ICND2 are the VTP and Frame relay so definitely revise these and know them like the back of your hand π Also make sure you do read and understand the concepts fully as this will help you out now and for the future.
Good luck all!
Best of luck..
Hi everyone , can anyone tell me what is the correct answer for Frame Relay Q4
Thanks alot.
Passed ICND2 today 12/07/12
Seems like the exam questions were really tough and different. The only thing that I can say came from 9tut was the VTP SIM and Frame Relay SIM. I DID NOT get any Access-List questions and all my multiple choice questions were different from http://www.examcollection.com/cisco/Cisco.Lead2pass.640-816.v2012-05-15.by.Daniel.232q.vce.file.html
All I can say was I was asked a lot of show commands for port security, trunking, vtp. Understand these topics well and use 9tut to help you back up on your knowledge.
All the best to everyone else that still has to write their ICND2 exam
Hi,
Can someone help plz? When watching the cbt nuggets, I get audio but no video (just blank screen)
@ Phenom – Is it an ISO file? What are you using to mount it? I had a similar issue I think I resolved by using Virtual Clone Drive (free download – search slysoft virtual clone drive)
Missing a codec? You could search and install K-Lite codec pack. My CBT came from Piratebay, worked well.
Hi,
finally I passed ICND2, I would say it is not easy.Actually I passed it on the day my CCENT going to expire…NOW got CCNA cool!
Failed the exam by a few points 10 days ago, The Frame Relay SIM seemed to have the same DLCI numbers as here but different answers on exam, not sure if my question was faulty had 2 numbers with 448 and 483 but when i ran Show Frame-relay map the numbers were in the 700s like the hot spot question, that probably cost me from passing
I’m using Daemon tools, I can’t get the index to open. But with the codecs I can watch the videos from the folder π
I’m using Daemon Tools Lite, Windows 7, and IE 10 to open up the CBT Nuggest ISO. It mounts fine and asks to open the index file, but IE gives some sort of error that I just cancel out and it loads up fine anyways. After that, never had a problem navigating the menu.
Hi everyone , i am preparing for my ICND 2 exam , i just want to find out do you guys learn all the question on the CCNA website aswell for the icnd2 exam? Thanks for a amazing website
Passed the ICND2 this morning. whew!!!! it wasn’t pretty but a pass is a pass and now I’m CCNA certified. I used CBT nuggets, Odem’s ICND2 book, and Lead2Pass vce which you can find on examcollection.com Big thanks to 9tut. Defiantly earned a donation (coming soon). I had acl, frame relay, for labs and a couple of d&d’s.
Passed ICND2 a couple of days ago –
I had the VTP sim found on this page of 9tut
https://www.9tut.net/ (but with different IP addresses and VTP domain name)
and the Frame relay sim in 9tut ccna hotspot
http://www.9tut.com/ccna-hotspot-questions (Q4 ans was Tlnet)
I used Cisco Lead2pass 640-816 v2012-05-15 by Daniel 232q.vce http://www.examcollection.com/640-816.html to practice after a few weeks of study.
Around 90% of the questions in the exam are in Daniel and some are also in 9tut. It is better to go through all the questions twice. This gives you additional speed in the exam. I only practiced some of the questions twice and lost some time in the exam in thinking. It is useful to use more exam cram vce’s if you have time.
Ash
You mean you got all new questions????? Its kinda weird….@Ash
uggg!! Took the ICND2 test…got 820, need 825 to pass. There were 8 or so questions on IPv6 – details I have not seen covered anywhere yet. This sucks – seems to be a moving target!! There were 2 four-question “questions”. 1 for WAN, 1 for EIGRP. The sim was configuration the new “Switch 2” (just like here on 9tut! π !!) Otherwise NAT seemed to be the subject of the day, followed closely by subnetting. If it wasn’t for those IPv6 questions I probably would have made it.
Hi Guys,
i am writting my ICND2 exam on monday, and i am scared as sh*t. please help. which topics should i focus on mostly.
Is it only the VTP sim that is included in the downloads at http://www.ciscovce.com/ and when was the last update to this for the ICND2?
Hi I need some help on what to purchase or to get whatever materials and everything that is very helpful to pass my ICND1 and ICND2. I planning to take on Sept 2012.
@annon
no, you get all the sime that are on 9tut and some unrelated labs to get you familiar with devices and CLI usage
ally_makingo@Tanzania
Yes my questions were different and only my SIMS were from 9tut. Know your show commands very well and know what information they show. Also know many ways of viewing one thing. Good luck
@Jay There is a good IPv6 tutorial here.
http://www.9tut.com/ipv6-tutorial
Passed yesterday 972/1000.Got VTP and Frame Relay , 3 drag and drop questions ( one ACL totaly new) + 3 simlets ( new OSPF simlet ).
Lots of VTP/LAN/STP questions.
I studied Odom , CBTNuggets , 9tut and Daniels vce.
Studing dumps only will get you failed .
Know well subnetting and summarization.
I passed my exam today and got 972 thanks to 9tut.com all my exam questions are here.I got the vtp and frame relay and ospf simlets. so good luck for everyone.
Going for ICND2 on Thursday…Guys wish me Luck!!Amen
Why is there different sims shown for example vtp, on the ccna site then what is shown here on the ICND2 site. Is it just a matter of the ones that are shown on the CCNA site have not been seen to pop up on the ICND2 exam? Beacuse it is ithe same topic and I am just curious.
people are talking about the Frame Relay Sim, i dont see or havent seen this sim ?
frame relay sim is at the hotspot of the ccna site
By studying ICND2 no need to remind that subnetting is becoming essential (and natural) and is integrated in many types of questions. Should have no problem after passing the first one. No harm to review and do many subnetting exercises during study. Don’t get freak out of sim questions and be ready to do them as they give huge marks. Don’t think too much and get complicated with the existing configurations. For example, EIGRP is configured on the routers but ping still fails. The reason can be simply caused by a shutdown interface somewhere!!!!!! If not then it’s mostly IP address config issues. If you are fluent in subnetting skills it shouldn’t be too hard. Near the end of sim questions make sure to do test pings and save config!!!!
pass today icnd2. thanks for this site.
Does the vtp and frame-relay sims show up for second time takers?
@Anonymous “Does the vtp and frame-relay sims show up for second time takers?” It did when I took it again. The IP’s changed but the same sim otherwise.
got my exam in an hour …. boy am i nervous
Got My Exam in an Hour too….#BLESS ME!!

@Anonymous βDoes the vtp and frame-relay sims show up for second time takers?β It did when I took it again. The IPβs changed but the same sim otherwise.
Did you have the frame-relay sim and was that still there, also I presume there was a different pool of the standard questions. How long after did you resit?
how do i get packet tracer?
sean
u can get packet tracer by downloading it for free…google it but make sure u get 5.1 or 5.2 or something like that if available
Passed ICND2 on friday. 9tut is an amazing site…
@Anonymous “Did you have the frame-relay sim and was that still there, also I presume there was a different pool of the standard questions. How long after did you resit?”
Yes almost all the questions were different. Alot of ACL and Nat questions on my retake. Most all the questions on my retake were from the lead2pass dump. And I waited 5 days to retake. Good luck
I passed on Saturday with 916/1000…Guys The exams are tough
You have to understand the concepts very well and u have to be fast. Know how to troubleshooting and configure devices
I am officially CCNA Certified : ) . Good Luck exam takers

Posters on examcollection are reporting that there is a new EIGRP SIMlet. Can anybody confirm?
There is a new OSPF Simlet..
My exam is in an hour and half .. Is there any new Sims.. plzz tell me guys I’m nervous about Sims
should I take it or not.. Plzz plzz reply me guys am waiting.
I passed the ICND2 yesterday 958/100. If you study and then use the Lead2pass dump to test your concepts you will pass no problem!
I passed the ICND2 this morning. Score was low due to the fact I ran out of time with the last 3 questions however the material on this site was instrumental in my success.
I had 4 sim questions, VTP, OSPF, and two I haven’t seen before mostly to do with subnetting.
Was surprised at a few of the questions as I had never seen them in any of the dumps or on this site, however if you know the material you will be fine.
Best of luck to all of you potential test takers out there.
passed ICND2 about half hour ago.
43 questions 75 minutes, score 930 and 30min left.
on to CCNP
@jj_nyc
wat sim and simlet did u get in the exam, can u explain that to me please? I have booked icnd2 for the 3rd of aug.
@anonymous
VTP, subnetting, OSPF, STP
nothing you can’t get through if you know the concepts.
all in all much easier than i thought.
just relax and make sure you read and understand the questions thoroughly
@jj_nyc
Is daniels dump still valid, R Vtp and Ospf sims same as on icdn2 lab sim web page on this website and where are subnetting and stp sims ??
@jj_nyc
I guess it has changed in last few days. Last time I checked the sims were VTP sim, frame relay simlet (multiple choice), and OSPF simlet (multiple choice). and now these are different π
never saw daniel’s dump so can’t comment on that.
vtp sim same as on this site, not ospf.
re subnetting and stp got to correct myself, i meant questions not sims.
So the sims and simlet are these please if u can confirm again VTP sim, frame relay hotspot on ccna site (multiple choice), and OSPF simlet with 4(multiple choice).
@anonymous
Don’t worry so much bro. If anything, just move the date to sometime next week; you still have time (worse case scenario). Last thing you want is over worrying before the exam; you’ll have a harder time focusing while you’re there!
Good Luck!
Thanks, Cheers
A BIG THANKS TO the 9tut TEAM – the super awesome website (Donation on the way for the awesome work). Wish I had found the site before my first attempt as I ran out of time then, so after a gap of 3 months I retook my ICND2 yesterday and passed with 846 and 10 minutes to spare. Below is the list of questions I saw on my exam yesterday and all of them were there either from 9tut.com, 9tut.net or Lead2Pass Dumps.
Also I wanna share that how to save money on exam. I used getcertify4less.com to buy the ICND2 voucher which cut the price in half. It worked flawlessly as did for other users on this site and others. ONLY one problem with the vouchers they are valid for 3-4 days, which for me was perfect as I always book test 2 days in advance.
Here is the list of questions I saw:

I used CBTNuggests, 9tut.net, 9tut.com & Lead2pass dumps. And time the killer so you need to keep a tight hand on that. Don;t spend to alot of time on small questions if you dont know the answer, fix a time limit and stick with it. This really helped as lasttime this was the only thing which failed me.
Good Luck.
Passed today with 916/1000.
Lots os vtp questions, few ipv6 and nat questions.
Had 2 simlets and 1 lab, ospf, frame relay and vtp, respectively.
Had alot of subnetting/vlsm, but it wasnt a problem coz i’ve practiced alot of that.
Thank you 9tut.
Passed with a 930! 35 Mins Left.
Time β 5 Weeks Approx.

Goodluck to all ~ Donβt let your nerves get to you, even if you fail, youβll know what to expect next time!
@vas what’s vce mobile do u have a link?
Cheers
@Ping
The only downside with VCE Mobile is the price, it hurts paying $14.99 for an app, but it’s cheaper than the PC version. I’ve used it for studying the ICND1 & ICND2 exams and now that I look back, it was worth it. Also I”ll be using it for my future exams. So as long as you make use of it. It allowed me to study at work on breaks, and whenever I was out. You can even download dumps right to your phone!
They have a trial VCE Mobile version, check it out first to see if you like it.
I downloaded it from the Google Play Store — search “VCE”
Ok guys. The word now is that there’s a new simlet (OSPF), but no one who has actually taken the exam isn’t saying much about it. Can someone kindly please and briefly give example of what to expect on the OSPF simlet? And Aslo, what kind of questions where asked and what “Show Commands” where used to access the answers?. Please feed back for us new test Takers!
@Omar
The OSPF Simlet is only 4 (or 5?) questions. They give you a topology and ask questions based on that. What I did was just learn everything about OSPF required in the ICND2 —
What show commands output certain OSPF info.
Router IDs
What prevents OSPF neighborships
How to tune OSPF cost
etc.
Frame-Relay Simlet again can be found on the CCNA section on 9tut. When it came up, all the routers were mixed up so know how to find the answers the questions are looking for.
Cheers!
@Vas
Thanx for the info. So commands like “show up ospf, database, interface, neighbor and exec would be fine right ? Or any other commands are needed to get answers?
@Omar
Remember you’re not typing anything in. For example you see how the Frame-Relay Simlet is like? The OSPF Simlet’s format is the same, you basically need to interpret what’s going on. As long as you’re comfortable with how OSPF works, you’ll be fine. I was a little nervous myself before doing it, so I just refreshed myself with all the commands and how OSPF operates by going through all the OSPF questions ICND2 and CCNA on 9tut.
@Vas
Very well understood.. Thanx once again!
~Good luck!
practice questions on

@xallax
how uptodate are these ?
latest ospf lab?
cheers
@ahr
they are all valid and updated as soon as there’s something new posted on 9tut.net or .com
have a nice day
oh it’s working now..
Just passed the CCNA with a 900.
This site was VERY useful. The three big lab simulations on the exam were NAT, EIGRP, and VTP. The toughest sim for me was the VTP; though I found the downloadable 9TUT VTP packet tracer lab very helpful. There were a couple bugs in the lab but they were easy enough to fix. Pay close attention to all the mentioned lab sims available on this site.
The only mistake I made in preparation was that I had not considered that the other routers and switches WOULD NOT be available on the VTP/switching sim. Therefore, you must be able to determine ALL the answers from the single switch.
There were also many questions on subnetting and STP. I highly recommend reading through the tutorials on 9TUT as well. The tutorials are quick and easy to read and contain everything you need to know for the exam. It’s like cliff notes for Odem’s book; just the necessary facts.
Failed ICND2 today, scored 818, needed 825 to pass…80% on VLANs, 100% on IP addressing, 100% on WANs, 53% on routing, 50% on NAT & ACLs…
At least i know what to study, really bummed out since i was that close and didn’t make it, there was some NAT and ACL questions that i hadn’t seen before, pretty disappointed cuz i studied my butt off in Cisco Press books, CBT nuggets, 9tut, and Exam Collection.
I’m scheduling it again for next week, I’m gonna try not to get discouraged…I’m heading into my senior year in college so I have some time before I go job hunting
Thanks for all the help 9tut! You’re a huge help! I’ll pass it next time π
by the way, got the VTP sim, piece of cake
I had all the multiple choice questions and drag drops come from the Lead2Pass exam dump and 2-3 sims which are on this site (Frame Relay under CCNA section) Perfect score, finished in 20 mins.
@Glenn – failure is good – now you know the areas you are weak on and can concentrate your study efforts – I failed ICND1 first time and went back stronger because of it – it’s actually not a bad strategy (if a little more expensive) – good luck all
Finally passed ICND2 today (2nd try) with a 972!!!!!! Also finished with 30 min left!!!!!Thank you for this amazing site!!!!!!! The VTP sim showed up again, only this time use first AVAILABLE IP address in the management subnet (vlan1) But be careful, as the first two addresses are already used by the other switch already (default gateway, vlan1 interface) , so you need to use the next available IP address, which is actually the 3rd IP address in the subnet. I almost got it wrong.
Passed ICND2 888/1000. There were 43 questions with a time limit of 75 min. Only had one sim, which, was to configure a new switch with an ip, default gateway, and vtp. There was a frame relay simlet asking questions about which dlci numbers go to which remote network and a question about what an Inactive DLCI status meant. Completed the exam with 12 minutes remaining.
Hi,
Guys in ICND 2, did anyone ever had Eigrp lab or ACLs. Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys,
I passed today with 986/1000. I would say I had about 50% of the questions that were similar if not the same as what is shown both here and the CCNA page.
Make sure you know your stuff, there were some trickily (If that is a word) worded questions in there and if you rely on this materiel you would not have passed my exam today.
I had 2 sims in there. VTP and an OSPF one which was different to what is shown here. (Cannot remember the questions, sorry guys.
Cheers,
AJ
ANyone has the lastest dump for the ICND2?
