Question 4
When configuring a default gateway, should it be ip route 0.0.0.0…. or serial 0/0 0.0.0.0…… – dont know answer
Question 5
Which option does the route 0.0.0.0/0 represent?
A. Route with the lowest administrative distance
B. Gateway of last resort
C. Null route
D. Empty routing table
Answer: B
Explanation
In this question only the “Gateway of last resort” answer is suitable. A Gateway of Last Resort or Default gateway is a route used by the router when no other known route exists to transmit the IP packet. Known routes are present in the routing table. Hence, any route not known by the routing table is forwarded to the default route.
In fact this question is a bit unclear. Maybe it implies “creating a static route to network 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 is another way to set the gateway of last resort on a router.”

Question 31
[am4show have=’p2;’]The left describes the types of cables, while the right describes the purposes of the cables.
Drag the items on the left to the proper locations. (Not all items can be used.)
Answer:
+ switch access port to router: straight-through
+ switch to switch: crossover
+ PC COM to switch Console port: rollover[/am4show]
Explanation
To remember which type of cable you should use, follow these tips:
– To connect two serial interfaces of 2 routers we use serial cable
– To specify when we use crossover cable or straight-through cable, we should remember:
Group 1: Router, Host, Server
Group 2: Hub, Switch
One device in group 1 + One device in group 2: use straight-through cable
Two devices in the same group: use crossover cable
For example: we use straight-through cable to connect switch to router, switch to host, hub to host, hub to server… and we use crossover cable to connect switch to switch, switch to hub, router to router, host to host… )
Question 32
Which destination IP address can a host use to send one message to multiple devices across …?
A. 239.255.0.1
B. 172.20.1.0
C. 192.168.0.119
D. 127.0.0.1

Question 33
Which value is of primary importance when a router populates its routing table for unique routes?
A. Administrative distance
B. Prefix length
C. Network address
D. Metric
Answer: A
Explanation
Making a forwarding decision actually consists of three sets of processes: the routing protocols, the routing table, and the actual process which makes a forwarding decision and switches packets. The longest prefix match always wins among the routes actually installed in the routing table, while the routing protocol with the lowest administrative distance always wins when installing routes into the routing table.
Question 34
Which IPv6 address type is a public address?
A. Global unicast
B. Multicast
C. Link local
D. Unique-local
Answer: A
Question 35
How is the MAC address table of a switch populated?
A. When the switch receives an Ethernet frame with a new destination MAC address, it installs the destination MAC address and the ingress switch port in the MAC address table
B. When the switch receives an Ethernet frame with a new source MAC address, it installs the source MAC address and the ingress switch port in the MAC address table
C. When the switch receives an Ethernet frame with a new destination MAC address, it installs the destination MAC address and the egress switch port in the MAC address table
D. When the switch receives an Ethernet frame in which the source and destination MAC address are new, it installs the destination MAC address and the ingress switch port in the MAC address table
Answer: B
Explanation
A switch only learns (populates) its MAC address table with source MAC addresses only.
Question 36
Which statement describes the effect of exec-timeout 30 command?
A. The router disconnects the user session if it is inactive for 30 minutes
B. The router maintains a user session indefinitely after it is active for 30 mins
C. The router disconnects a user session if it is inactive for 30 seconds
D. The router maintains a user session indefinitely after it is active for 30 seconds.
Answer: A
Explanation
The “exec-timeout” command is used to configure the inactive session timeout on the console port or the virtual terminal. The syntax of this command is:
exec-timeout minutes [seconds]
Therefore we need to use the “exec-timeout 30” command to set the user inactivity timer to 30 minutes. To set the user inactivity timer to 30 seconds we use the “exec-timeout 0 30”.
Question 37
Which statement is true about port-security violations is true?
A. When a violation occurs on a switch port in restrict mode, the switch port continues to accept traffic from unknown MAC address until the administrator manually disables it.
B. When a violation occurs on a switch port in protect mode, it sends a syslog notification message
C. A port In the err-disabled state must be re-enabled manually, if recovery is disabled
D. When a switch port is in protect mode, it allows traffic from unknown MAC address until it has learned the maximum allowable number of MAC addresses
Answer: C
Question 38
Which statement is true about static and dynamic routing is true?
A. Only static routes are shared between connected interfaces
B. Dynamic routing is more scalable than static routing
C. Only dynamic routes are secure
D. Static routing is easier to maintain in a large network than dynamic routing.
Answer: B
Question 39
Which metric or metrics does RIP use to determine the routing table metric for a route?

B. Hop count
C. Bandwidth and hop count
D. Bandwidth
Answer: B
Question 40
Which network configuration allows a switch to send traffic from multiple VLANS over a single link to a router that routes between the VLANs?
A. Port channel
B. Router-on-a-stick
C. Virtual trunking
D. Spanning-tree
Answer: B
Question 41
Which statement about native VLAN traffic over 802.1Q trunk is true?
A. It is discarded by STP
B. It is placed is a high-priority queue
C. It is tagged with a value of 1
D. It is untagged
Answer: D
Question 42
Which feature allows a device to use a switch port that is configured for half-duplex to access the network?
A. Split horizon
B. CSMA/CD
C. IGMP
D. Port security
Answer: B
Explanation
CSMA/CD stands for Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection. In an Ethernet LAN, before transmitting, a computer first listens to the network media. If the media is idle, the computer sends its data. If the media is not idle (another station is talking), the computer must wait for some time.
When a station transmits, the signal is referred to as a carrier. Carrier Sense means that before a station can send data onto an Ethernet wire, it have to listen to see if another “carrier” (of another station) is present. If another station is talking, this station will wait until there is no carrier present.
Multiple Access means that stations can access the network at any time. It is opposed to Token-Ring network where a station must have the “token” so that it can send data.
In short, CSMA/CD is the technology used for half-duplex switch port to transmit. CSMA/CD is not necessary for full-duplex switch port.
Question 43
Refer to the exhibit.
<exhibit missing>
If switch-A receives a frame with destination MAC address 0000.0000.0001 on its Fa0/1 interface, how does it process the frame?
A. It forwards the frame back out of interface Fa0/1
B. It floods the frame to all interfaces except Fa0/1
C. It holds the packet until the MAC address timer expires and then drops the frame
D. It drops the frame immediately
Answer: maybe B
Explanation
As the exhibit is missing so we can only guess. But B is the most suitable answer in all cases. If the MAC address 0000.0000.0001 is new to the switch (this MAC have not existed in the MAC address table) then surely the answer is B.
Question 44
When a router makes a routing decision for a packet that is received from one network and destined to another, which portion of the packet does it replace?
A. Layer 4 protocol
B. Layer 3 IP address
C. Layer 2 frame header and trailer
D. Layer 5 session
Answer: C
Explanation
During the transmission of a packet from source to destination, only Layer 2 information is replaced in the path. Layer 3 information remains the same (except when NAT is used).
Question 45
Which protocol can identify connected devices within a mixed-vendor infrastructure?
A. Virtual terminal protocol
B. Network time protocol
C. Link level discovery protocol
D. Cisco discovery protocol
Answer: C
Question 46
Which interface configuration is used with a router-on-a-stick configuration?

A. Two host computers may be assigned manually on each host
B. The DNS server must be configured manually on each host
C. It supports a DNS server for use by DHCP clients
D. The domain name must be configured locally on each host computer
Answer: C
Explanation
DHCP supports configuring a domain name to assign to the DHCP clients. For example:
Router(config)#ip dhcp pool CLIENTS
Router(dhcp-config)#domain-name 9tut.com
…
Question 48
Where is private IPv4 addressing used?
A. On the endpoints of a VPN tunnel that traverses outside an administrator domain
B. At a remote site that connects over public infrastructure to a hub
C. Within an enterprise
D. Over the internet
Answer: C
Question 49
Which protocol allows VLANs to be dynamically configured between multiple switches?
A. IGMP
B. STP
C. VTP
D. 802.1Q
Answer: C
Question 50
Client A cannot reach client B by its hostname. Which reason for the problem is most likely true?
A. The connected router is using the default domain lookup configuration
B. The hostname for client B is missing from the connected router
C. A DNS server has been misconfigured
D. Telnet has been disabled on the connected router.
Answer: C
Question 51
Which first step must a client perform to connect to an internal host when the hostname is known, but the IP address is unknown?
A. The client sends the host name in a DNS reply to a DNS server, and the DNS server responds with the host IP address
B. The client exchanges IP address information with a DNS server on the same LAN
C. The client looks up the hostname in the ARP table to determine the IP address
D. The client sends the host name in a DNS request to a DNS server, and the DNS server responds with the host IP address.
Answer: D
Explanation
When a client knew about the hostname but not the IP address, it needs to resolve the hostname to the IP address by sending a DNS request to its DNS server.
Notice that the ARP table is responsible for resolving IP address to MAC address only. It has nothing to do with the hostname.

Finally, passed ICND 1, Thank you 9tuts. most or pretty much all questions are from here. I was failed first time when I was depending on the book only. I used Sybex book todd lamle, it’s a good book but it’s not sufficient. I, then use Cisco press link and this 9 tuts most of the time, especially for the questions and answer. This is the great link. I even assigned to premium member too. I prefer to be a premium member on this site because of its worth of it.
Please don’t go too much into comment questions because some of them are the wrong answer, the answer which 9tuts gave. Thank you so much 9tuts and other commentetors. I passed with 920 score yesterday. I will share some of my questions which one on the exam
for lab, the NAT changed, the configuration, a lab is the same format but the configuration slightly changes like nat inside and outside is different now. NAT inside and NAT outside is in good shape now don’t copy and paste the configuration answer from 9 tuts and go with the wrong answer but the topology is the same,
format is the same. You have to dig into configuration closely. They didnot make it hard but you have to careful on it. 90% of the qestions and snswers are from 9tuts.
9tuts, Please update for ICND 2 exam and its format I m on my way there now
These questions are exactly the same on the exam which 9tuts provided. I want to recommand to my other friends to buy 9tuts subscription. These guys are great and genius

I used to study networkkings videos but it’s not sufficient that why I used 9 tuts most of the time, especially for the questions and answer with explanation . This is the wonderful site, I prefer to be a premium member on this site because of its worth of it.
Pl read every question with explanation , pl go with the answer which 9tuts gave.
Two Simulation is there in exam :
Security Testlet Simulator :but read carefully bit change is also there .
DHCP Simulator is bit change ip nat inside or ip nat outside is in proper plce ,but in acl deny 127.0.0.1 , go with ans : intersecting acl is configured .
54 questions in exam.
I will update new questions soon .
Good luck .
I passed today, this 64 question is very helpfull, but you have to study the sims more,
it was 2 sims, the first one RIPv2 with DHCP and NTP, while the other one is security sim.
both sims have the same topology but the configuration are totaly different.
i finished the exam 25 minutes earlier so take your time with Sims.
good luck every body.
Anyone know how much subnetting is on the IDCD1 test ?
HI, question for all have passed ICND1, can you advise if there were many IPv6 questions in the exam? thanks
update/////////
What is the solicited-node multicast IP address for 2001:DB8:1001:F:2C0:10FF:FE18:FC0F?
answer
The part of the IPv6 address designated by the 24 bits farthest to the right is added to the end of the multicast address FF02:0:0:0:0:1:FF/104 prefix and is referred to as the solicited-node address.
What are three features of the IPv6 protocol? (Choose three.)
An important feature of IPv6 is that plug and play allow the network devices to configure themselves independently. IPv6 does not implement traditional IP broadcasts.
What is the corresponding Ethernet address for FF02::1:FF18:FC0F?
Multicast Ethernet addresses are formed by adding the last 32 bits of the IPv6 multicast address to 33:33.
@Sunil kumar can u please update new questions you got in exam .How to solve sims if there chsnge in configuration??
Thank you.
@Shahid Khan, thanks for the ipv6 questions
hi guys i will be taking the ccent exam for the second time a week from today, i just wanted to know if i might encounter entirely different questions from the questions on this page.
The answers are at the bottom of the questions! A,A,A,D
i replied other people …LOL
Which six-byte field in a basic ethernet frame must be an individual address?
I googled it and the answer is SA.
Source Address (SA) – The source address consists of six bytes, and it is used to identify the sending station. As it is always an individual address the left most bit is always a zero.
I hate 9tut. I pass a little days back with a really high score. I feel dirty
Passed today. Labs are the security configuration and dhcp sims; different answers/configurations on the lab. 80% of exam is these questions.
Hi,
I don’t understand why the answer to this question is C. Shouldn’t it be B? Thank you.
If a switch received a frame while forwarding others, how frame would be handled?
A. It will interrupt the frames
B. The switch will put the frame in a queue
C. Will be forwarded at the same time with the current frame
D. The new frame will forward first
Could anyone help to explain this?
Why is it C (next hop) but not B (Metric)?
Thank you.
Which of the following used to identify immediate destination?
A. Administrative distance
B. Metric
C. Next hop
D. Destination network
Answer: C
In the CISCO online book for ICND1 it says …
“”Packet forwarding: After a router determines the appropriate path for a packet, it forwards the packet through a network interface toward the destination network. As shown in the figure, each line of the routing table lists a destination network and its corresponding interface or next-hop address. If there is an interface on the router that has an IP address within the destination network, the destination network is considered “directly connected” to the router. For example, assume that router A receives a packet on its Serial0/0/0 interface that is destined for a host on network 10.1.1.0. Because the routing table indicates that network 10.1.1.0 is directly connected, router A forwards the packet directly to the host via its FastEthernet0/1 interface. If a destination network in the routing table is not directly connected, the packet must reach the destination network via the next-hop router. For example, assume that Router A receives a packet on its Serial0/0/0 interface and the destination host address is on the 10.1.3.0 network. In this case, it must forward the packet to the router B interface with the IP address 10.1.2.2. Routers support three packet-forwarding mechanisms:””
As written here “”… routing table lists a destination network and its corresponding interface or next-hop address …””
Therefore, next hop is the correct answer
ICND1 exam done yesterday!!! 924/1000. I can confirm that 95% of questions are published here, in 9tut. Config of DHCP sim and security Sim is little bit different in configuration, you need to read carefully, (diagram or tasks are completely same. On exam was more than 25 questions from ICND1v3 stated above, rest of questions was from Composite Quizzes. I had maybe 4 new questions, but I am not sure their exact tenor.
UP to ICND2 !!!
Good luck to everybody! And do not hesitate to buy premium member accout on 9tut 🙂
thanks to 9TUT.i have passed to today ready for icnd2.all the sims were there but different questions.you need to know ACL ,SHOW commands, nat commands and dhcp
Thank you for your explanation Anonymous!
Thanks 9tut. passed today, the questions above are up to date they helped me ALOT. Sims are same but different configurations. Off to ICND2!! Good luck people!
Madman01
Which sims did you get?
Passed icnd1 today. had dhcp sim and security, dhcp sim a bit different , security sim still the sim.
alot of questions came from the new questions section here at 9tut.
thank you 9tut.
Yes passed 880. this site was worth every penny. The labs are spot on, just different #s. The content is 70% here, learn subnetting from their tutorial and use the theory from their sub sections as they not only give you answers but the explanations, so the few that they throw at you it just takes some process of elimination. Thanks 9tut! You are the best! Now on to part 2.
Passed 897!!!
52-54 Questions 90 Min
Over 15 NEW questions… DHCP SIM with some changes. Sec SIM with minor changes. MUST understand the results of each SIM. Only 1 subnetting question.
Study:
Wild Cards
Whats in a Frame
Admin Distance
Static Routes
If you don’t understand the questions and answer here you WILL NOT pass.
Good Luck!!!
Thanks 9tut!
Passed ICND1,I have some networking in my background and I only used this site to study. had 1 drag and drop, 1 DHCP and 1 Security sim. I agree with @Anonymous above. Understand the answers, A lot are worded totally different on the test, some the same. Only had maybe 2-3 subnetting questions. On to ICND2…Thanks 9tut.
TAKING THIS TOMORROW ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD BRUSH UP ON BEFORE I WALK INTO THE TEST???
Hello, can confirm what the changes in the in tne DHCO SIM?
I PASSED WITH A 948 USING 9TUT PEACE OUT HOMBRES!!!!! ;)~
question 57 is not making any sense to me, cause the command to exclude addresses is #ip DHCP excluded-address, if you do it statically it will work, am I wrong?
Which forwarding technology stores destination addresses in the cache?
A. MPLS
B. Cisco express forwarding
C. Process switching
D. Fast switching
Answer: B
ISnt the right answer D ??
In CISCO own documentation is says …
“”… Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) switching is a proprietary form of scalable switching intended to tackle the problems associated with demand caching. With CEF switching, the information which is conventionally stored in a route cache is split up over several data structures. …””
Therefore, B is the right answer.
I’ve just taken my exam today, there are some new questions I vaguely remember, hope it helps:
-Transparent mode in switch
-PSVT
-MAC address aging time, how to disable it
-What are in IEEE frame
-What is first 48 bits in a frame
-RFC 1918
-RFC 1518
About 25 questions in the test are exactly the same in 9tut.net . Other questions are similar or new. But don’t worry, you can answer them if you understand all the explanations to questions in 9tut. Please remember, it’s not a memory-game, you can’t pass without understand the explanation.
There are 2 labs in my exam, the topology is the same but the questions are different. However, again, if you truly understand the Labs in 9tut, you will be fine in the new labs.
Good luck every one.
Thank you 9tut.
I successfully passed the exam today – thanks to 9tut.
There are lots of new questions what are not yet listed here. I try in the following to memorize some of them:
(1) What IPv4 subnet mask is required to Support 120 Hosts
– 255.255.255.128
(2) What 6 Byte field in Ethernet Frame will delete Zeros from the left?
– don’t know. Can only be SA or DA?
(3) Alleviate depletion of IPv4 addresses?
– RFC1519
(4) How many VLANs can be activated on a Switch port?
(5) What must be done to secure VTP over different VLANs?
– Transparent mode? (don’t know exact)
(6) How can I extent the Network without Need of layer 3 device
– Possible options were out of many e.g. IPsec tunnel, MPLS TP tunnel, …
(7) What is the AD of connected?
– 0
Labs:
There were two labs, similar to security and DHCP test Simulator here.
Lab topology was same, but different Settings as per running config. E.g. in DHCP NAT was correct configured for inside/outside IP. In the NAT configuration command was an Access list used where only IP 127.0.0.1 was allowed. I choosed the answer that only the local server is allowed but don’t know if this answer is correct. 127.0.0.1 is the standard IP of the Network Interface Card – therefore, I have chosen this answer.
Good luck to everyone.
e.g. DHCP
I’m taking this exam after the weekend and have mainly been watching the CBTNuggets ICND1 course (taking lots of notes) and I try and crack open the Odom book a few times a day just to reinforce what CBTNuggets video course has taught me. I’ve been closely studying these ICND1v3 questions the past 5 days and practicing the sims.
I’ll provide whatever questions I can remember and provide my exp soon
shouldn’t option D correct answer? its asking about cache which seems to be Fast switching
Question 9
Which forwarding technology stores destination addresses in the cache?
A. MPLS
B. Cisco express forwarding
C. Process switching
D. Fast switching
Process switching is like doing math, long hand.
Fast switching, using the cache, is like doing a problem once long hand, and subsequent problems you remember the answer for, (from memory, or the cache).
CEF is like having programmed an excel spreadsheet, and when the numbers hit the cells, the answer is already calculated.
What 6 Byte field in Ethernet Frame will delete Zeros from the left?
SA or DA? DA I think!
3. Which six-byte field in a basic ethernet frame must be an individual address?
A. FCS
B. SOF
C. Sa
D. Da
Answer: SA
Destination Address (DA) – This field contains the address of station for which the data is intended. The left most bit indicates whether the destination is an individual address or a group address. An individual address is denoted by a zero, while a one indicates a group address. The next bit into the DA indicates whether the address is globally administered, or local. If the address is globally administered the bit is a zero, and a one of it is locally administered. There are then 46 remaining bits. These are used for the destination address itself.
Source Address (SA) – The source address consists of six bytes, and it is used to identify the sending station. As it is always an individual address the left most bit is always a zero.
@MN
For question #9 correct answer is B, CEF, and I am pretty sure for this 😉
In CISCO own documentation is says …
“”… Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) switching is a proprietary form of scalable switching intended to tackle the problems associated with demand caching. With CEF switching, the information which is conventionally stored in a route cache is split up over several data structures. …””
Pass with 95+. test was not hard. if you know basics. Sim questions reworded but basics stuff. advice read the question first then check and match options one by one with config. instead going back and forth. @Mermaid luckily I didn’t got any confusing Q’s like above.
Base-5-BX…lol ..there is no such a thing in this word!
correct way.
Coaxial 10base5 (same as 10base2)
Twisted 10/100/1000base TX
Fiber 100-BX
USB connects between PC and peripheral devices
Crossed-over devices of the same type
10base5 & 10base2 are old Coaxial cables use for bus topology. which can be use for TV but most they use RG59/RG6/RG11 Coaxial cables.
What drag and drop questions did you get?
only one that I listed above!
passed icnd2 ffs,,,,trust me part 2 sucked hard- they threw labs at the very end but still finished with 30 min on the clock. Just learn your concepts in and out. Honestly didn’t recognize the content on here but guessed about 95%…I mainly used transcender and pluralsite along with this site for the clear concise theory. Good luck everyone now on to Juniper security track
@(MN)What kind of subnetting questions came up for you?
only one ..What subnet mask is required to Support 120 Hosts.
@Thrillz would you plz answer @Nixie question under (Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience)
@(MN) Thanks a lot for your input i’m sure others will find that useful too!
I personally have my exam next week, Friday… Looking forward to this.
Sat the ICND1 [100-105] exam today (UK) & passed – 897/1000.
59 Questions – 2 Labs, 2 Drag & Drop, 1 Subnet Question
Lab 1: DHCP/NAT/NTP – Same topology as on 9tut but different configuration. Commands needed = show running-config, show ip int brief, show int (serial/ethernet */*), show ip dhcp pool.
LAB 2: Security – Same topology as on 9tut (Switch/Router) but different configuration. Commands needed = show running-config
Drag & Drop 1: TCP Packet Format – Had to arrange 5/6 fields into the correct positions (see URL)
https://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/Other/Cisco_Press/ITG/10-19-01/TR890706.jpg
Drag & Drop 2: Cable Types – Had to match up cable types with the description of usage – See MN comment above.
Subnet Q: What IPv4 subnet mask is required to Support 120 Hosts – 255.255.255.128
————————————————————
I cannot express how much you need to understand the terminology/questions. Wording of questions I found to be entirely different on the actual exam.
Of my 59 questions taken, majority were new & not listed on here yet. I had 10ish from the old Q’s & maybe 15 or so from the new Q’s listed on here.
Cheers 9tut for all the help, gonna take a big ol’ break & maybe look at ICND2 sometime in the near future. Good luck to everyone!
Hi Sweemz, I didn’t get your first drag and drop question exactly, after looking at that link you attached it made me a lot more confused than I already was haha
JUST Passed today! Woohoo ICND2 HERE I COME
@MN What questions came in to the exam for you?
Just passed ICND1 today. Passed right on the dot. Got an 832.
Guys dont just focus on the questions posted here. There alot of new questions.
3 Drag and Drop questions—-1 is posted above in the comments
one drag drop is Coaxial TV connection
Twisted 10/100/1000 base
Fiber BASE-5 BX
USB connects two computers
Crossed-over devices of the same type
Make sure to focus on both the old and new questions posted here
Passed today with 890 yay!! Was aiming for the mid 900s but 890 will do just fine. Most of the questions came from the old composite about 20 in all, expect DHCP and Security Sims with the same topology as on this site. As long as you know your stuff you will pass. Drag and drop includes TCP/IP protocols, DNS, cables.
Remember as long as you understand the concepts you will be fine.
@SL201 congrats bud.
Madosky# show run interface ICND2
Peace out mi hombres
Passed ICND 1 on Feb 19, The questions above will help a LOT. Read the questions carefully. There were some question that I have not seen on these dumps. 1 subnet question, Maybe one ACL question. The DHCP and Security Lab. About 4 drag and drops. Keep in mind it is 59 questions, however the Sims have about 4 question each, bringing the total to 71 questions. But if you know the material you will have more than enough time to finish. Good Luck!! On to CCNA Voice
Hey.
Can anyone tell me if question 8 is right? (here in this page).
Drag drop question about cable types
Answer:
Coaxial TV connection
Twisted 10/100/1000 base
Fiber BASE-5 BX
USB connects two computers
Crossed-over devices of the same type
Thanks.
Hi there Admin
Your flash player is not working. Just updated adobe flash on my side. None of the questions or sims want to load.
Please rectify.
Thanks
@ne02001: We checked but saw it is still working on our computer so could you please try again or using another computer to open them?
Hi all PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
I will be taking mine in few days. Can you please let me know
1.How many drag and drops? which drag and drop you got? besides the cables.
2. How many % was the exam from the new added questions so I know which ones to focus on more?
3. which Sims did you get.
All your answers will help. Thank you
Morning. Writing tmorrow.
New questions please
We need an official 9tut app in the Play Store and the iPhone app store. Will this become a reality?
Hi All.
Passed my exam with 934. About 10 questions from the old stuff. Maybe 10 questions from the ones posted above. Mostly new questions. If you know your stuff you will pass.
Now for ICND2
@ne02001 CONGRATULATIONS
which new questions do you mean the updated one from 9tut Volume 3? what was your sims? how many drag and drop did you get? please help
Just a little FYI for the ICND2 exam. The sims are all about troubleshooting. I only used 4 commands for all of the sims.
1. Show run
2. Show ip int brief
3. Show ip protocols.
4. show ip access list
I had no drag-n-drops but all of the sims that you see here on 9 TUT.
I scored a 980 and finished in 36 minutes.
My tip is don’t rush and don’t second guess yourselves.
This was my fourth recertification for the ICND2.
Trust me when I say that EVERY QUESTION ON THE ICND2 EXAM IS HERE ON THIS SITE!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK.
P.S
Remember once you click next you can not go back on ant Cisco exam.
Titi
No the questions were new. So were the drag and drops. There were about 3 drag and drops. The sims configurations were the same but the answers were different.
9tut is a good preperation for the exam.
i learned every chapter + Composite Quizzes.
30% off the exam question i had seen before.
5-7question from the “new questions” above and like 15 from 9tut.
If you know why the answers are right, you will pass. 9tut covered 90% of the exam for me.
I had some really strange questions i never heard before tho. For example: A drag and drop with the structure and functions of a DNS request. Parameters and very detailed information about the dns prozess were questioned.
In addition i had 5 ipv6 and some OSPF questions – be aware, know ospf basics!
The simulators were easy. 2 secruirty / telnet with just show commands. like on 9tut
wish u good luck
Thank you for the above info. Do you by any chance have an idea what the drag and drop was about? How many drag and drop did you get? That means the composite questions are still valid.
I passed ICND1 on Saturday with 950+
Had a question I didn’t see here about which VLANs aren’t able to be assigned.
Answer should be 0 and 4095. 4096 was one choice but since VLAN ID are a 12 bit value I was able to rule that one out.
Also the DNS drag/drop had 5 choices and you have to put them in the right order:
Client queries local DNS for the IP address for http://www.cisco.lan (I forget the name they used.)
DNS queries root server
DNS queries server for http://www.cisco.lan
Local DNS replies to client
There was also one on how to make OSPF and RIP the preferred network when the router has a route it has learned through EIGRP.
My sims were the same as what is on here, but the configurations were different.
I had a handful of subnetting questions.
I thought I have looked all over the site but maybe I am missing something. Are there no cabling questions?
Hey Anonymous,
I got 5 drag and drop questions, mine were very difficult because the question was completly new.
I really dont know about the dns sorry, dont focus on it, i also got an drag and drop about how to make sure you restart the router without the running-config. I didnt understand the question, there were 6 options and 4 answers, i know you can change the config register so you dont get in the start-up, but i think this wasnt the right answer. The other options were, reload, reboot, power cycle which i remember.
Another drag and drop were about cable types, i member the base T cables for the ethernet and the base”?” for fibre optic. You can do most cable questions with the knowledge fo what is an base T and what is for fibre optic and you are good to go.
In addiotion to the cabels, i had 1 question about DCE / DTE, just know which is the master / slave (clockrate generator).
Ye the composite questions are valid, but you dont get the exact question 1:1, make sure you understand it!, as i mentioned before i learned 95% of all questions i got from my trainer /9tut and only got 30% 1:1.
Good luck
I just took mine, passed both for icnd1 majority of the question are here and I got the Sec and DHCP sim, same as 9tut. for my icnd2 which i never studied for, I had an hour break between both exams and crammed the icnd2 new and new 2, I got all the ospf hotspot and the eigrp sim exactly the same as 9tut. I scored higher on the icnd2 that icnd1 Which cam to me as a surprise. There few new questions on both exams though.
