ICND1 Composite Quizzes
We have 15 Composite Quizzes for the ICND1 exam. Each Composite quiz comprises of 50 questions of all topics of the ICND1 100-105 exam. If you can pass all of them then congratulations, you have full knowledge for the ICND1 exam. But please grasp the concept of the sims in the ICND1 exam as well before taking the exam.
Note: The questions of these Composite Quizzes are taken randomly from the pool of specific topic quizzes so some questions are repeated among the Composite Quizzes. This is good because you can practice one question a few times. But we highly recommend you to practice all the specific quizzes (at the right-side menu under “ICND1 100-105” category) carefully before taking these Composite Quizzes. The Composite Quizzes only helps you have a feeling of the real exam with 50 randomly chosen questions from the specific topic quizzes. |
ICND1 exam:
Note: Please also check all the “ICND1v3 – New Questions …” at the right-side menu. The Composite Quizzes above may not include these new questions so please practice them separately
Note: We really hope you clearly understand the concept behind each question, not learn by heart the answers.
Was unable to show Topology pictures in some questions.
Quiz 1
Current web browser, Chrome – version 33.0.1750.154 m
Cheers!
The question about access layer switches…the correct answers are POE, port security, and VLANs. Layer 3 is distribution layer.
clearly had at least 3 to 4 correct answers on each of the first two quiz’s but my answer was changed to an incorrect ones
The question about access layer switches…there are only two answers required – the correct answers are
“POE”& “port security”
from: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Campus/HA_campus_DG/hacampusdg.html#wp1107687
A robust access layer provides the following key features:
Inline power (POE) for IP telephony and wireless access points, allowing customers to converge voice onto their data network and providing roaming WLAN access for users.
Security services for additional security against unauthorized access to the network through the use of tools such as 802.1x, port security, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, and IP Source Guard.
“VLAN” & “Layer 3 support” & “redundant components” are not correct
although the article does refer to:
System-level redundancy using redundant supervisor engines and redundant power supplies. This provides high-availability for critical user groups.
The question about access layer switches there are only two answers required – the correct answers are “POE”& “port security” & “VLANS” !!
another site http://www.ciscopath.com/content/61/
gives
Switch features in the Access layer:
Port security
VLANs
Fast Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Link aggregation
Quality of Service (QoS)
https://www.9tut.net/final_flash/ICND1/All_Questions_3/quiz.html
I think there is an error for question 15/50
The image and the questions refers to another scenario regarding OSPF cost.
I think there is another mistake (even with dumps)
https://www.9tut.net/final_flash/ICND1/All_Questions_3/quiz.html
The question is the 20/50
It asks for one or more password to type in sequence through a console connection.
I believe the answer should
Sanjose (to access through console)
Sanfran(to get to privileged mode).
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
@France: That question is correct because you are using Console connection. The password “sanjose” is only used when you telnet to it:
Router1(config)# line vty 0 4 //Configured for Telnet connection
Router1(config-line)# password sanjose
@France: Regarding to the “15/50” question, we are sorry but we cannot identify that question because the Composite quiz is shuffled each time you open. Could you please post some more information (some words in that question) so that we can find it out?
Hello 9tut staff. Thank you for replying.
I attached a screencast of the question
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6h73ir&s=8#.VAWF5GMgt-g
I’m still a bit of confused about the right answer to the characteristics of hierarchical network model question. I can’t seem to find any exact specific reading about this anywhere and the composite quizzes says the right answers are Port Security and Layer 3 support but other Cisco materials discuss PoE, VLAN etc.
http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=2202410&seqNum=4
Please help.
Are these questions in the ICND1 exam or are they just example questions?
“Configure a static route on Router 1 with a non default adminstrative distance”
What does that even mean? Why is the answer 5 when that is the AD for EIGRP Summary and 1 is Static Route?
About this question asked , can you confirm if the answers you provide as correct are correct ?
“The question about access layer switches there are only two answers required – the correct answers are “POE”& “port security” & “VLANS” !!
another site http://www.ciscopath.com/content/61/
gives

Look forward to hearing from you
Nina,
The answer is 5 because you are creating a static route. The default administrative distance for a static route is 1. Because you specified 5 for the AD, you are using a non-default administrative distance for the route.
Which two characteristics describe the access layer on the hierarchical network design model?
(Choose two)
Correct answers should be port security, PoE, and VLANs
Current correct answers are layer 3 support and port security
@9tut I have passed all 15 of the composite quizzes and I understand the concept behind each question. What else is very important for me to study before the exam? I am sitting my exam next week.
Hi to all,
in the ICND1 Composite Quiz 10 is an error:
Question: Network manager has requested a 300 workstation expansion of the network. It should be a single broadcast Domain and each Workstation a single collision Domain.
the answers that marked as correct are:
– one router Interface (in my oppion is that wrong because then we have two broadcast domains)
– seven 48-port switches (correct)
– one subnet with a mask of 255.255.254.0 (correct)
So maybe the question has an error with the broadcast Domains or there are only two correct answers.
@BC: Please grasp the sims as well. They are very important to pass the exam.
@Martin: One router interface gives us only one broadcast domain because only router separates broadcast domain. This is a correct answer.
Just took the ICND1 and passed with a 960. Almost every question, except for 2, was on this site and all 3 of the sims were also.
Taking my ICND1 test in 2 days, I have been using this to study, I hope it helps me.
Me too. On Friday. Is there a calculator during the exam?
@Deriq I don’t think so.
Are these questions actual questions from the ICND tests?
I take my ICND 1 test on Friday too! Good luck guys.
Good luck guys. I am looking to do mine in two weeks. Let us know how you do.
Are those who have passed ICND 1&2 having any luck with employment in the IT field. I currently only have CompTIA Security+ and am not working in IT field. Scheduled for ICND 1 January 5th.
Hello – It seems that as of today (Dec 27, 2014) none of the question or lab simulators are working. They were all working fine earlier today.
To be more specific, I’ve tried the all of the ICND1 composite exams and the ICND1 simulations – when trying to execute, the page is just blank.
@Hendor
You can find a entry level job in the IT field without a certification. I don’t think you’re looking hard enough. Try job websites like Indeed, Dice and LinkedIn. Also, network with people. This is coming out of a 19 year old student with experience in looking for jobs.
I just took the quiz 7 and question 41 I got wrong. How can the host send an ARP request to the destination address when it doesn’t know the destination address? I think this questions answer is wrong for this quiz.
GUYS THIS IS AWESOME. THE PAY VERSION IS 10 TIMES BETTER
Please tell me what the answer is for the question “Which two characteristics describe the access layer of the hierarchical network design model?”
I believe it should be Port security and VLANs however quiz 3 question 11 is telling me it is Layer 3 Support. 9tut, please confirm what the answer is
Thanks!
i just scored a 973!!!! thanks for all your help.
What “show” commands were most useful on the ICND1 exam?
Booya…passed ICND1 with 900+ score all thanks to 9TUT and Jehova. 99% of questions were on 9TUT except for benefits of Single area OSPF question which made me think a lot. Sims were there too including 6 Routers and switch which I did not study well for.
Just pay the damn $9 and you will pass. I definitely will continue to be a member for life.
@northern:
The sh ip interface was beneficial.
Just passed the ICND1 yesterday! and all thanks to 9tut and CCNA in60days book. Study the composite quizzes and you are guaranteed to pass.
Passed today with 986.
There was one new question, somethin like
“What is the advantage of using single area OSPF. Choose two answers”
Don’t remember all the answers, but one of the correct was that it eliminates need for virtual links, and the second one I choose was that it requires less LSA types than multiarea OSPF.
Also in the Sim with show commands I found few mistakes – for example output from “sh ip int” showed different information than output from “sh ip int br” – I mean different status of the same interface, different address etc., so be carefull with this question.
@anon and @Ben The correct answer for the question “Which two characteristics describe the access layer of the hierarchical network design model?” is:
VLANs and Port Security
To the others adding in “Switches,” to their argument, unless recently changed, that is not in the question.
While an argument could be made for PoE being that it is over Ethernet, it refers to power over Ethernet, which is a physical thing because it is sending electrical signal over the blue pair (typically). Those arguing that layer 3 switches are the correct answer, are defeating their own argument by saying “layer 3” because the access layer is layer 2.
@Woody
I’m not a fan of the wording either, but let’s assume they meant the MAC address is not known, because the IP address gets adjusted for hops between routers. Initially the host will send the packet to the default gateway (usually the interface port of the router connected to the host) then it will change that IP address to the next hop. However, since the MAC is unknown, the host will just blast out FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF in hopes that someone will find a path to the IP address that it seeks. I’m on your team though and would think that if there is no MAC and no IP address then the packet would go nowhere. Anyone else want to offer up any thoughts? 9tut perhaps?
Just passed 100-101 very recently (1/2015). Only missed a couple questions – don’t know which ones.
Pay the $9 – 9tut.net was on the money.
Know the composite quizzes in and out, know the simulators. Understand why the answers are what they are and you’ll do fine. I also used Lammle’s book and Google searches for the details.
Taking my test tomorrow. Had to google the answer but for anyone wondering, Cisco exam results are displayed at the end of the test (if they’re computer-based).

@Hendor and @peter
I believe I found the question you are referring to in another page in 9tut:
What are two benefits of using a single OSPF area network design? (Choose two)
A. It is less CPU intensive for routers in the single area.
B. It reduces the types of LSAs that are generated.
C. It removes the need for virtual links.
D. It increases LSA response times.
E. It reduces the number of required OSPF neighbor adjacencies.
Answer: B C
just passed today with 976. you are the best 9TUT.
thanks for all your help
Just took the test and passed with a 973.
Questions I saw that weren’t in the composite Quizzes (to the best of my memory):
What command adds all interfaces into OSPF area 1?
network 255.255.255.255 0.0.0.0 Area 1
network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 Area 1
OSPF all-interfaces Area 1
What are two benefits of using single area OSPF over multi-area OSPF? (similar if not the same as posted two comments above this one)
Took ICND 1 exam today. This site was right on. Thank you!
Hello Admin, Thank you for your website.
I have one question – I can not access the Topology
Pls help me.
I have one question – I can not access the Topology— ICND1
Chrome Version 39.0.2171.99 m
I am a premium member.
pls help me.
where to get the explanations of composite quizzes i took first quiz but socred only 72 % how to get the explanation of my answers
@Shujauddin: You should practice with specific topic quizzes at the right-side menu first (small quizzes with about 10 questions each). You can read the explanation of that topic and then go for Composite Quizzes.
hey guys hello, i’ve tried once the quiz number 1 but after i could not find the answers, where are them exactly?
@john: Only after you submit all 50 questions (reach 50th question and press Submit) you can see the answers.
any one tell me the easy way to pass the ICND 1 Exam because last month i give the ICND 1 exam but i am fail my score is 775 /1000. we need a score 805.
I have exam today i am really confused about characteristics of hierarchical network model question. i would choose Layer 3 support and port security thought 9tut says port security and VLANs
i secured 986 today.
two new questions which are not in 9 tut icnd1 database are as below i got both just studied last night about these questions
What command adds all interfaces into OSPF area 0
What command adds all interfaces into OSPF area 0
about ospf neighbour sim2 i would recommend dont just mug the output of 9tut sims though it is very useful but in exam u would face it lil differnt and answers may be differnt two u might be confused i took 25 mins to solve this sim only so sharpen yur ospf knowledge with show commands keep your mind open with all the commands just dont remember 9 tut answers this advice is for all sims.
in ospf neigbor sim2 i got one question which had below crct answer those who are doing this sim they should understand that on the real exam cisco changed the sim so smartly that 9 tut answer is not the real sim answer 9tut answer is also correct but there config of interface is lil changed so the answer is as below dont get confused try to understand the sim in the exma then answer.
r1 e1 and r3 e1 are configured with non defualt ospf hello interval 25 in my exam it was the correct answer thought r3 was not relevant with the question but r3 e1 also had the same hello interval and the correct answer is in this line which mentions r1 and r3, i have given u the hint rest u can tackle in the exam.
Multiple choice questions are same on 9 tut two new questions i stated above. security simlet has more output compare to 9tut output so i would sugget u config a switch and router with all the base config so u vil become used to of seeing more output dont just mug the 9 tut output it will save your time. 9tut is a grt help if u buy permimu membership but about sims dont mug the answers and output keep your mind open. i think in the beggining only u vil get sims within first 20 questions if u 3 sims u should finish this part in 60 minutes i mean first 20 question rest you can do in 40 mins max, i am assuming u will be getting extra 30 mins for being not native english speaking person. i finished to 25 mins before so as you. cisco also gives a demo before starting the exam pls dont skip that view it for 15 mins. that time is not inculded in the exam. i wanter to score 100 % but scored 99 % only i wrote this review so that u guys could score 100 %
Hi, I passed the exam with 947.there were Many questions showed here.thanks 9tut.
I’m going on my studies with your help. Thanks again!
Hello,
Is there an actual exam question on this site? I have been studying like crazy, even taking a class. I was thinking about taking my exam soon. I will do those practice quizze for sure, but I was wondering if there is one exam in particular that has something close to the exam?
thanks
Any chance to find a PDF with the questions on it? I mean questions from this site?
Passed today with a 894. Had a bit of trouble with the labs, so I highly advise people don’t neglect them, once they work right again!
@Meiluy, how close come the questions for the exam from the 9tut ??
How accurate is 9tut for ICND1? I feel like base of questions is so limited… Those questions appear over and over again
Thanks 9tut for ICND1, Passed today with 894
Can anyone confirm how accurate these questions are compared to the real 100-101 exam? I see a lot of positive things but still not convinced.
Thanks
I’m sitting my 100-101 next week and any advice / tips would be much appreciated. Also how accurate are these composite tests to the real tests, a lot of people say there the real deal in the posts? Any info would be awesome.
Thanks
947 today on ICND 1.
A new question on the advantages of single area OSPF v Multiarea. One answer was fewer LSA types…the other was a tossup on fewer CPU cycles or fewer adjacencies.
Also had two IPv4 addressing questions where they wanted 2 host addresses within a subnet but of the answers available there were only 2 within the subnet but one of them was a broadcast. I spent a lot of time on both to verify, so I answered it with one of them being a broadcast address.
Since almost all of my lost point were on addressing I’m guessing I got those wrong. But I still feel I didn’t do anything wrong.
For those asking….the test today was about 80% from this site. Make sure you do the simulations here. They were harder than the sims on the actual test.
for question in one of the composite quiz “Which three statements are true about the operation of a full-duplex Ethernet network?” one of the answer in the quiz is “there are no collisions in full duplex mode”. The correct answer for this one option should be “The host network card and the switch port must be capable of operating in full-duplex mode.”. Someone please verify it.
Passed ICND1 on the 14th of March -947.(Perth)
90% of the questions are from 9tut.
Sitting ICND1 tomorrow – 20th March. Fingers crossed 9tut will help. Have been using e-careers (not recommended as old syllabus), CBT-Nuggets, packet-tracer, Cisco labs and any scenarios I can get my hands on. Wish me luck.
@chambles
Any feed back on the exam? Was 9 TUT accurate in comparison to the ICND 1 exam? Sitting it next week.
Thanks
Passed ICND1 today 973/100! About 85% of the questions on 9tut.
Is each composite quiz compromised of different questions or are there some repeats in each quiz?
@IronGeek: There are some repeats in each quiz because they are randomly taken from the big pool of 9tut.net questions.
Thank you. I have my ICND1 exam scheduled for next Thursday, April 2nd. Wish me luck!
@9tut: Since the quizzes randomly pull questions from a pool, is there any point in taking all 15 quizzes? Isn’t it the same as taking Quiz 1 over and over again? How big is your question pool?
Took my ICND1 exam this morning and every single question came right out of here! Needless to say i passed. Thx 9tut!
@Anon: Each Composite Quiz only contains 50 specific questions, only the order is changed. So we need 15 Composite Quizzes to cover all the questions from the big pool. For ICND1 currently we have 108 questions in total (not including the lab sim questions).
Hello, what does the ICND1 certification exam consist of? How many sims are there and questions are there? Is there any configuration that needs to be done? Any packet tracers? Whats the time limit?
took ICND1 today, passed with 947 out of 1000!!!!!!!
Every single question bar 2 were on 9tut.
passing the quizzes, passing the simlets and your pretty much guarantee’d a pass
cheers 9tut
Is there any configuration that needs to be done on the simulators on the actual exam or is it pretty much just “show” commands?
I passed with 973/1000. I had the 3 sims you can find here and the questions were 90% the same as here.
Sometimes, the questions are slightly different from here tho. Just be aware of that and you will be fine.
ICND2 here I come! 🙂
Has anyone had any questions on ACL’s? im sure its going to be a question in the exam?
please…what about Ipv6 for ICND1?
by Tinkan
Hello, what does the ICND1 certification exam consist of? How many sims are there and questions are there? Is there any configuration that needs to be done? Any packet tracers? Whats the time limit?
Duration 90 Minutes (45-55 questions)?
Thanks
This siteweb was very good helpful to me learning network
just passed icnd1 exam with 947. I didn’t have any IPv6 or ACL test questions. The OSPF, security and configuration sims were on the exam. 98% test questions were on 9tut. Thank you 9tut.
in these composition quizzes do they all contain the same questions? because i have noticed most of them have some the same questions. are they the quiz just in a different order? or do they contain different questions and some of the same questions?
is 9tut enough to study for ICND1. please help trying to take the test next Friday.
@Anonymous 9tut is more than enough to “PRACTICE” for the exam as 96% of the questions if not all are from 9tut as per my experience about 2 months ago. You can use other braindumps etc to study in case you are not ok with the basic Cisco stuff. GOOD LUCK.
Just passed today with a 960. Thanks 9tut! Off to ICND2.
ICND1 Composite Quiz 7, Question 14
can someone help me understand why the MAC address of 0000.00aa.aaaa will not be added to the MAC address table also? To me it looks like we should be able to choose three or maybe i’m over looking something.
The port that are shown are the only active ports on the switch. The MAC address table is shown in its entirety. The Ethernet frame that is shown arrives at the switch. What two operations will the switch perform when it receives this frame? (choose two)
Correction: *0000.00dd.dddd will not be added to the MAC address table also
There is an error on quiz 10 question 46…. it gives wrong answer..
something is up with that…
Jus passed the ICND1 exam!!!! membership membership membership!!!
Passed the exam yesterday, 933. My big thanks to 9tut! About 90% questions were exactly the same, including OSPF lab. Lost most points on not-very-clear security lab, as many of us did. But the rest saved it. There was a new question regarding OSPF – which command are you supposed to use to include all interfaces into area 0. I believe the answer is network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0 as I had 100% in routing section. A few other new questions regarding OSPF, which I don´t remember, but nothing tricky. Best of luck to all!
This stuff is awesome!! Passed my ICND1 with 947/1000. It’s totally worth the money it costs for a membership.

Why are the 15 composite quizzes all the same questions? I’ve study my ass off for this exam and was told by a friend to check this site out before taking the exam.
@TT: We have just added an explanation on the top of this page to answer your question:
“Note: The questions of these Composite Quizzes are taken randomly from the pool of specific topic quizzes so some questions are repeated among the Composite Quizzes. This is good because you can practice one question a few times. But we highly recommend you to practice all the specific quizzes carefully before taking these Composite Quizzes. 9tut..best CCNA online preparation site…I just passed my ICND1 exam with 933/1000 today. Membership is the only way to pass this exam with flying colors. Because Simlet and Testlet Questions and 15 Composite Quizzes comprises 750 total practice questions are not available for non-members.
I highly recommend this site and its membership to pass the exam.
